Spoiler:
*fingers in ears* "nah nah nah i can't hear you! it's a gateway drug that instantly leads to heroine and crack. all marijuana sales support terrorists. if legalized, your elementery school children will be hooked."
even with all that science and research, the above is still likely to be the response from many.
but thanks posting it.

Is it true Marijuana impairs your memory badly? Our psychology books for college say because the chemicals stay in our hippocampus, but eh, I think we should be skeptical even to our school books.

I dont know if it happens to everyone, but when I smoke heavily I dont remember as much about that day as I would if I was sober. But I still remember the important things and only forget little things that dont really even matter.

Well my book says it can effect you in the longterm. I can copy the exact page later though.Well, I havent noticed anything like that really. I still remember the high school like it was yesterday and I dont think my memory is any worse than it was before I started smoking. My memory has never been the best one tho (runs in family, everyone in my family are like that and I'm the only one who smokes as far as I know)
And in case you havent read the whole thread, sometimes I smoke every day for week - 2 months and sometimes I'm without it for week - 2 months.

still seems a bit out of date to me. i seem to recall(in my drug addled mind) that much of the long term effects had been disproven. i'd recomend doing some outside research on your own about this. if it turns out the book is wrong on that count, you might want to check other "facts" listed there in. and depending on the teachers personality, bring it up in class. becarful with that though. some teachers don't take being corrected by a mere student very well.

I think it is wrong. I have yet to experience any memory loss while high. And I don't smoke cheap stuff either.
I also recently watched part of the documentary "Super High Me" and at one point a fully certified physician concluded that this guy had absolutely no permanent effects after 17 years of smoking marijuana. Kind of interesting.
The closest thing to memory loss I have had is simply not paying enough attention to something, usually because I didn't care to. If you don't pay attention to something, how can you remember it? I have gotten drunk as hell once and didn't remember a thing. Nothing like that has happened to me from getting high.

Nothing wrong with the occasional bit of Marijuana - can be quite therapeutic in my opinion, but then you'll always end up talking to those "drugs are baaaad" individuals who will judge people based on whether they smoke drink or fail brush their teeth 30 times a day.

Ok, I don't smoke marijuana. I generally don't approve of people who smoke marijuana. HOWEVER I do think that it should be legalized. Why? Because people are getting arrested for possession of marijuana and sent to prison along with all the murderers, child molesters, and the rest of the scum of humanity. Most of the people who are arrested for possession of marijuana have an otherwise spotless record and are all around decent people. On top of that the prison system in the united states is overpopulated forcing the government to spend more and more of the tax payers dollar to maintain these prisons. If they would stop arresting everyone that has weed on them maybe this wouldn't be such a big problem.
