I have seen the pot issue on the ballot more than once here in California. I always think it's going to win, yet for some reason, it never passes. It's not like there's a billion people voting against it either. It's more along the lines of the pot side just not showing up to bat. This result leads me to conclude that the logic driving it isn't really strong enough to be taken seriously. Also some fags dont want it to be legalized "because it wouldnt be cool anymore" or "because then everyone would use it and it would be too mainstream"
I have actually witnessed people saying this, it's ridiculous.
I don't see why anyone would use any sort of substance because it's cool or in the scene or whatever. Still so many people do it. It's so sad...
I've never known people who think like that (the stoners I know arent that stupid), but I spend alot of time on the internet reading about different things (especially weed) and hell I've seen people say (write) stupid things. But I've always wondered that how old the people who say things like that are? I mean, I understand some 14 years old kid saying that, but if actually some people who are old enough to vote think like that... well, lets just say that I wouldnt want to meet a person like that :D

I'm never tried and do not intent to, but it's natural and probably not as deadly as normal cigarettes. Still can't get over the smell though, nope. I think having it illegal though is dumb

I'm not saying that everyone should smoke it or anything. Everyone makes their own decisions and thats it.
But I'd like to know how it makes your body ill? What causes it and what do you mean by "making body ill"?
When I think of something making a body ill, I think of vomiting. Well, if you smoke too much, it can make you throw up. Or if you drink alcohol first and then smoke weed, that can also cause vomiting.
But really I'm just trying to understand what you mean by that. Do you mean vomiting or something else? Some arguments please.

Personally I don't smoke it, only tried it once before. However, I'm all for legalizing it since I don't believe in government dictacting peoples' personal habits. There are far worse drugs like Alcohol (which has under one period been banned in the States), which makes me think how ironic it is that a less harmful drug like marijuana is prohibited over something else that has caused more harm to other people. Sure, marijuana is harmful to some degree, too, although not as much as Alcohol and cigarettes. Anyway, I don't care how harmful things are to someone as long as they personally want to use it. It's like banning cigarettes cause there is a risk of getting cancer.
People should drink, eat, smoke whatever they want.

I say you that from beginning I don´t know what exactly causes that.
But I had some friends (no friends anymore) which smoked weed/marjiuana alot. They were really addicted.
After awhile smoking over and over they had a psychosis and their bodys "screamed" for marjiuana if you know what I mean.
That´s my reason for calling that "It´s just another shit which makes your body ill.".
I know after smoking it once will not make you addicted or something. I just prefer to live my life healthy.

You dont get physically addicted to weed. But psychological? Yes, possible, especially if you smoke 24/7. But not everyone gets addicted ofcourse. Last time I smoked was about 1,5 months ago and I was high like 99% of the time I was awake and I did it for almost 2 weeks. Then came the day we smoked our last bowl and during this 1,5 months neither of us (me and my bf) has had any cravings for weed. Sometimes I do think that "how it would be nice to smoke now", but more often I think "fuck I want some candy soooooooooo bad now!!!! D:<"
And maybe a year ago we were high for almost 24/7 for a month or 2 and no addiction. The only thing I noticed was a one day long "hang over". I was a little bit tired and kinda bored, but after a nights sleep it was gone.
And I know loads of people who can smoke every day for weeks or months and just quit doing it one day. But I dont know anyone who's addicted to weed. Every smoker I've met have been very responsible people.
But there are no substances within weed that have physically addicting properties. Your body doesnt start craving for moar weed, but your mind can do it.
Also cannabis on itself doesnt cause psychosis, you have to be prone of getting one and then cannabis can heighten the risk of getting a psychosis. But if you arent prone to it, then you're safe. I dont know about other countries but at least in Finland even tho more and more people smoke weed, still the amount of psychosis' havent grown. So if smoking weed causes psychosis, shouldnt the amount of people who get psychosis grow when more people smoke weed?
And I prefer my life healthy too. And so do many other people, like this one guy I know, who hasirritable bowel syndrome. Many food products give him diarrhea, a ver very bad one. But when he smokes weed, he doesnt have any problems (unless he eats very unhealthy food). And weed makes my stomach better too, I've never had a diarrhea or constipation when I smoke, no matter what I eat (even if I eat 1 liter of ice cream) and my stomach works more regularly too when I smoke. Toilet time once a day and almost exactly the same time of the day every time. (too much information maybe, I dont care D:)
So if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go and get some energy drink, thats what I'm addicted to, and not very proud of it.

I tried it and I liked it and the most important thing I didn't get stoned. Well it felt good and different but nothing more. It's nothing like in the movies.

*Ahem* When I was in 10th grade I went on a smoking binge for the summer, I would toke every day, the second I felt myself coming down I would fire up again. I stone cold stopped the second I entered school, not one withdrawal symptom, not a single craving for a joint. It isn't at all addicting. My wholly honest opinion? Government farms, private sellers. Kind of an Amsterdam thing, but with legal growers. Have taxes on the weed pub itself not the plant.

Except for religious people, who believes there is salvation after death. No offense, mate. If that is what you believe, then so be it. I have no right to falter your perspective about life.
I am diverting away from the topic. Yet again, marijuana has medical uses, but its adverse effects are most likely abused. Some countries legalize the use of marijuana with corresponding laws and policies that will regulate it.
As for my country, the Philippines, the use, possession, and sale of marijuana is strictly prohibited. Even I don't make a fatuous choice to try and use it, because I know that it might ruin my life by knowing its harmful effects on my mind and body.
Some users here said that the use of marijuana should be legalized because it is less harmful than tobacco and alcoholic drinks. Let us say that it is less harmful, but we cannot deny the fact that it will still cause death in some ways, not just to yourself, but to other people, as well. This feeling of being "high" could make you do various of ridiculous things, depending on your personality. Why do something that will harm yourself when you could just avoid it? Instead of using marijuana, you could do recreational activities that will divert your attention from your problems.
My mindset is on the welfare of people, and not just for the sake of the few. I shall not allow it even if it is for the sake of increasing the taxes gained by the government.

Instead of using marijuana, you could do recreational activities that will divert your attention from your problems.Umm... I understand you saying that, you've never smoked, so you dont know how that "high" feels like. It doesnt make you do stupid thing. Or just plain stupid, maybe, but not dangerously stupid. The high heightens all of your senses, so unless you're a masochist, you dont want to feel pain high. Heck, I tried epilating [size=10](for those who dont know: epilator)[/h] my legs once and it was horrible D: That was the one and only time I will try that high, the pain was at least 10 times worse than normally. And the reason why people wont do painful things when high (neither mentally or physically painful) is because people want to enjoy the high, and pain ruins it.
And for example alcohol. Thats the stuff that makes you do stupid things. Ladies jump in bed drunk with people they dont know and get a std or 2 and get pregnant. But I've never even read about anyone doing that after smoking weed.
Drunken men (and women too) fight ALOT especially when they're coming down. They physically and mentally too hurt their friends and people they havent even met before. And thus innocent people get hurt. I've never heard/read of people getting agressive after smoking weed, or when coming down (thats usually when many people just get tired).
People break things when drunk. I live in apartment building and the drunken people of this house break the window on the door to this building many times in a year. I've never read about a person who's high breaking things just for fun.
People throw other peoples pets down from the balcony after a drunken fight to get revenge. Do people do that when they're high?
But really, you can do stupid things when high (like drive a car, which you shouldnt do), but its not the drugs fault, its the person who does it. And if that person wasnt high, he could be drunk. And driving drunk is way more dangerous than doing it hogh. When people drive drunk, they usually speed up, alot. So they dont have time to react on things. And when they drive into something, its not pretty, because of their speed. But when you're high, you most likely wont drive that fast, its more possible that you're driving under the minimum speed level. And if you do crash into something, the damage isnt as bad as it would have been if you were driving fast.
"Instead of using marijuana, you could do recreational activities that will divert your attention from your problems." Yes, some do smoke to forget bad things, as do some people drink to forget them. But there are things that dont go away simply by doing something. I have panic disorder, doctors have given me some SSRIs for it, I dont take them, because they dont really help on the worst panic attacks + they have nasty side effects. And those worst panic attacks arent something I can make go away just by doing something fun. And I get those worst panic attacks when I'm alone, so I cant even rely on my bf then. But smoking a little bit weed actually helps me relax enough to at least make the panic attack much milder. Yeah, taking some benzos could help too (but I wouldnt touch them even with a long stick), but they take their time, because you eat them as pills. So waiting them to get digested while panicing your ass off isnt fun. But smoking weed helps within few minutes. And benzos help when the worst part of the panic attack has already gone.
And if someone's wondering, I use weed mainly just because I like it. But there are times when I use it for my panic attacks as well. I dont do it often, but when I'm alone at home for longer periods (2 or more days), it helps to have some weed that I can smoke when needed, because I cant handle my panic attacks very well when I'm all alone. Usually being around family and my bf helps, but thats not possible on every situation.

Maybe I said it wrong. What I mean is, it may lead the marijuana users to commit suicide or commit crimes that will affect the people in society. Death is still possible for my point of view.

It depends on what kind of life (way of living) you have. I prefer my mind functioning well rather than messing up my intellectual capabilities. I am having difficult time comprehending your last two sentences, since we are not on the same channel, as it seems. Well, if your country legalizes the use of marijuana with limitations, probably, then that is fine. You are the one using it after all.

I see. Thank you for sharing your experiences to me. Most of what you said are right. Just like what I have said earlier, it has some medical uses, but its adverse effects are mostly abused. In your case, it is beneficial. It really depends upon the person who is using it. My statement contains facts as well as my own opinions about this matter. I might be right or wrong, but I still stand to my beliefs. You are just one of those people using this drug. I am always referring about the general. Proper regulation of this drug is that all matters.

True. That is the scientific explanation of our death. Yet again, it depends on what religion you believe in, which will affect your perspective about death. Mind you, I am not religious myself but I can't help being concerned about my death because of the lingering thoughts of whether I will end up in heaven or hell after I die. It must have something to do with how I was raised up as a child. I am a roman catholic, by the way. Well, I'm still on my adventure of what kind of ending awaits me.
We are all free to stand to our own beliefs, as long as it won't disrupt our society. Being a wandering spirit is fine, but have mercy to the people you are going to haunt. ^ ^;;

Have you ever heard of anyone commiting a suicide because of cannabis? The only way I could see cannabis being part of someones suicide is this:
1. Mister X smokes weed and doesnt want to buy it from dealers, so he starts growing his own
2. Mister X gets caught by police and gets all of his weed expensive growing stuff taken away, gets fined heavily and the police informs about mister X's drug use to his work.
3. Mister X loses his work because he got caught.
4. Mister X got fined heavily and lost his job, so now he has no money to eat.
5. Because mister X lost his job and cant get another one because of his drug use, his girlfriend leaves him.
6. Depression anger and all those fun feelings.
7. Mister X commits a suicide.
But even in that case cannabis is not the cause of the suicide, its the law. If cannabis was legal mister X could have just keep on growing and smoking without losing his job. See the point there?
I know someone who lost a important person because he smoked cannabis. He got his life back on track by self medicating with cannabis, but then cops caught him and took all his weed. So he lost his medicine. Not long after that he was found dead. And he would still most likely be alive if he was allowed to smoke weed.

As all have said, there are no long term affects from smoking small doses of cannabis. The reason the government makes it illegal is because they cannot find a way to regulate it yet. Cannabis can be now prescribed by a physician for a medical reason. I feel we are slowly making our way to making cannabis legal, but as I said. The government has no real way to regulate cannabis.
P.S. I've never smoked anything in my life.

My uncle who is 69 years old smoked marijuana religiously for 50 years of his life, He has been basically the father of my two cousins, (my aunts kids not his), he has bought one of them a brand new mustang. His life is just fine, he goes to work everyday he gives his nephews calls everyday. The very topic of his smoking has caused several fond memories. Like playing I got high from a car stereo in the middle of the neighborhood and watching his high smile slowly disappear, (I laugh now, I got my ass beat.)
Now tell me does that sound like something so dangerous? A couple of laughs and a care free attitude?
