i seem to remember that somewhere in the bible it say something like, [...]and god gave man all the seed bearing plants and herbs to use[...]. i think it was in genisis. so either it's ok to use, or it's another 'test' from god.

When I was a child, the biggest thing my parents would fight about was my father bringing pot into the house around me. My father was a violent man, and would beat my mother over that. So, when I think of marijuana, I think of my mother getting beaten.
Needless to say, I don't think that highly of it.

I'm sure a million people have already said what I am about to say, but whatever. I strongly believe marijuana should be legal. Even before I started smoking it I had no problem with it. I have many friends that have never smoked in their lives who strongly support the legalization of marijuana. A lot of people believe that only stoners want it to be legalized, but I know plenty of people who are aware of the benefits. Scientists continue to find medical uses for the drug. Marijuana doesn't kill people. As it has been said, it is better for you than alcohol or cigarettes. Both of those kill people and are very harmful to your body, whereas weed is not. There is so much money spent fighting unnecessary drug wars, and spending so much government money on putting people in jail, when they could be making money from the stuff! Everyone already smokes weed anyways, you might as well make it legal. x) Saying it is illegal doesn't stop anyone, and it just creates more problems... I don't know if anyone has posted this video already, but I think it is a pretty good representation of what we could have:

There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING harmful in weed.Cannabis is used also in the field of medicine. But you know, people just use it cause it feels good. But when you say abosoloutley nothing harmful in weed, what would happen to the kids that eventually get their hands. the fact that they think whatever is bad makes them cool. Smoking weed may not harm them but it will ruin their lives sooner or later. I think the mistake you have here is that youre generalizing it on adults only. Itd be better if you specified the audience youre addressing this to.

Portugal recently(i think it's been a few years now) decriminalized many 'illicit' drugs. statisticly, the rate of use has pretty much stayed the same. there may have even been a decrease in teen usage, since as you said, doing bad things is cool, so with it no longer a 'bad' thing, it's less cool.

I'd smoke it if it were made legal and it was manufactured to certain standards it's the fact that some people add stuff to it to make it heavier that puts me off. when you say heavier, are you speaking of weight or potentcy? i've never heard of adding anything other than moisture to increase weight.
legality won't ensure purity.
Well I saw some thing about them adding crushed glass when it grows
but recently I realized a more important reason for it being legal so you don't have to deal with the crooks selling it. I just started to try some and When I was asked did I get high I said 1st time I tried it and it didn't do any thing and the guy threatening to knock me out and getting pressured to buy more than your asking for is annoying. Every time I've bought some the dealer has asked for some, money for petrol, to buy more than I wanted to buy I just can't be bothered buying it at all after dealing with people that act like that.

sounds like street dealers. you just need a good connection. someone who knows someone who deals. that kind of dealer relies more on word of mouth and repeat customers. much less likely to fuck with you or add shit(though it's not unheard of).
as for the first time not doing anything, i've heard that from several people. my first time was around twenty years ago. i can't remember if that was the case for me.

Weed is a substance that alters the brains chemical patterns to create a period of bliss. The affects that weed or marijuana have on the user do not seem to be apparent it is a drug people use liberally not fearing any consequence. Smoking marijuana will create a neurological dependence because the increase of dopamine will eventually lower you natural production. thus marijuana's enjoyment is a double edged sword because it makes you happy in the short term and sadder the more you use it. And smoking it will destroy your lungs. My personal reason i don't like marijuana is because you can see a decline in the levels of intelligence in a person who smokes.
Oh yeah and using it for medicine is an absolute joke. Oh, i can't eat doctor i think weed will help. yeah right(sarcasm).

My personal reason i don't like marijuana is because you can see a decline in the levels of intelligence in a person who smokes. This really hit home since I know some people (thankfully, not friends) who have pretty much smoked themselves stupid. I found it amusing that they tried to convince me to smoke it by saying "It kills weak brain cells, making you think faster," to which, I replied "You know that brain cells don't grow back, right?"
...their persuasion stopped after that.
While I don't particularly LIKE marijuana, I can see it being used as a cash crop like tobacco, which could potentially help out the economy. However, what concerns me is will the product be regulated, to prevent additives and such, or will it end up like name-brand cigarettes are nowadays (adding chemicals, etc.)

You have been misinformed sir or madam. the lung issue is the only part you got right.
as for the medical applications, it's true that most of what it has been perscribed for is pretty iffy, but the not being able to eat one is meant for cancer patients on chemo. chemo therapy is basicly poisoning to kill the cancer, while staying just short of killing the rest of the body. the body's natural reaction to being poisoned isto reject everything in an attempt to stop the poison from getting in. from what i've heard, it's also extremely painful, and the THC is a proven pain killer as well.

From what I've heard from people, it can be really hard to have an appetite when doing chemo therapy. Marijuana has been proven to help with that.
I'm not strictly for or against weed, but it does really piss me off to see people rallying for medical marijuana as if that would make it legal for everyone. Medical marijuana should be for people that need with, those with major problems or conditions that make it hard if not impossible for them to live normal lives. You shouldn't be able to get a prescription for weed just because you sit on the couch all day and feel lousy; in that case, you should get some therapy and evaluate your life. But if you're in constant pain and have muscle spasms every few minutes, I think being prescribed weed is fine. It'd probably do more good than getting bottle after bottle of pain killers.

But my theory is that some people are just plain stupid, even before starting to smoke weed. And then weed makes them care less and so they let more of their stupid ideas out of their mouth.
And some people are like me. I'm too lazy to write it all again, so heres a copypasta

I know lots of stuff and I think alot, but especially when I'm high my mind races so fast I cant really keep up with my mouth. If I start talking about politics high, I'm not even halfway talking when my mind is already on other topic and its not usually very easy to just rewind back to the politics. And everything I say from then on sounds just stupid.Does it make sense to you? I mean, think about how hard it would be to write about weed for example if you'er thinking about something else at the same time. Then you'd write totally stupid things, because you're not thinking about what you're writing.

Oh yeah and using it for medicine is an absolute joke. Oh, i can't eat doctor i think weed will help. yeah right(sarcasm).Like people mentioned before, it helps with chemo, alot. And its good as a painkiller. But ofcourse there are people who abuse it, going to doctor and telling lies about a chronic pain they really dont even have. And they get their weed. But really, is it really that horrible? I think its better that those people get their medical marijuana cards and buy their weed legally than buying their weed from shaddy dealers. That way the money's out of criminals pockets, and thats good, right?
And again about the lung issue. Weed itself doesnt harm your lungs, its the smoke. Any smoke is bad for your lungs. But people who are worried about their lungs can make some edibles and eat them, no damage to lungs. Or get a vaporizer (or make one yourself) and instead of smoke you inhale vapor. I know that most people smoke their weed, I smoke it too [size=10](but once I get enough, I will make some edibles, omnomnom)[/h], but lung damage is still a very silly reason to hate weed.

I'm sorry to inform you that you are wrong in saying what i said was ill informed Drugs create a dependence not something you physically need but mentally need. When not using a drug it will create a feeling of pain and anguish that is why people keep using what ever drug they use whether it be prescription or marijuana. The effects of people getting stupider are only part of them only seeking desire and not setting as many goals as they would try to achieve in the past.
And, I'm from Las Vegas where there is a large population of people who use drugs mainly marijuana. I am perfectly fine with people who use it but, when they use a drug for a short period of happiness they always want more and end up throwing themselves down. To understand what i'm saying more you should try reading college level or ap level Psychology texts books it should help you understand and anyone else understand that your brain can make you feel like you need something even though you don't.
The amount of testing towards the medical use of marijuana has not been that significant. the affects could be like a placebo just because people believe in it. And, it that's the case then go ahead and smoke it, eat it, inject it what ever. Both sides of this debate are blind to the benefits and consequences of drugs. Each side will get there credible people to back them up. People who don't use drugs generally don't want others to use drugs. On the other hand people who use drugs generally want people to do the same.
Both sides seem to say some bull shit excuse for there sides. People can do whatever the hell they want its their lives. But saying its a miracle and its a plague is something that has not yet been proven. Being dependent on something i do not care for; that is why i choose to stay away. Marijuana should be legalized it would help this struggling economy. But, saying marijuana is perfect or that marijuana is horrible is something people have to decide on their own. Today's society has become lazy self-serving ignorant people who believe what they say is right. Society has drifted from what it use to be the concept of freedom is a light in the distant past. There are problems and benefits of marijuana but saying either side is perfect is ignorant. Here is the opinion of Howl Less Wolf enjoy...

Still less people there smoke it than in other countries where its illegal. In Netherlands 6,1% of people smoke, in England 8,7%, in USA 12,6% and in Canada 16,8%.
So, is smoking cannabis more common in a country where its decriminalized than in others? Nope. The rates could get higher for a while, but some people would get bored of smoking, and some people wouldnt smoke it at all at that point, because "its so boring when it doesnt break the law". Its not like smoking cannabis would be as common as smoking tobacco if it was legal, and thats what most of anti-weed people think. Doctors and bus drivers smoking cannabis during their work like they smoke tobacco too. And thats stupid, anyone with enough brains knows thats not true.

Chapter 6: states of Consciousness Page 208-210
"Continued use of a psychoactive drug produces tolerance: the user experiences neuroadaptation (the brain's counteracting the disruption to its normal functioning). Thus, the user requires larger and larger doses to experience the drug's effect.
As the body responds [from withdraw] to the drug's absence ,the user may fell physical pain and intense cravings indication a physical dependence on the drug. people can also develop psychological dependence, particularly for stress-relieving drugs. although such drugs may not be physically addictive, they nevertheless become an important part of the user's life, often as a way of relieving negative emotions.with either physical or psychological dependence, the user's primary focus becomes obtaining and using the drug."
