Which is worse: failing or never trying?

I think not trying is so much worse then just failing altogether. There's no way possible way you can become better at something if you don't fail, its part of life really, relationships, jobs, games, we all try our absolute best to do every one of these things but most the times we failed but we gained a bit more knowledge and gained a bit more experience because of that failure. If you never try anything new just because of the chances you'll fail you'll miss so many opprotunities in life. I look back in my life and I had very mediocre grades in school, I could have tried to do better and actually better myself... but I never did. And now I just... I just regret never doing my best.

Failing.
It's always better to try it to see if you can succeed at it.
You'd never know in life else.

As the great Homer Simpson once say:
"You tried your best and failed miserably. The lesson is: never try"
Me? I'm used to failing all the time so why change?

I judge the value of things by the relative impact they may have on my future. For example, if I was walking in the woods and I came to a fork in the road, I could go left or right. If there was no specific end to my journey, my decision would be inconsequential. In the same sense, not knowing what lies before me, whatever I choose may lead me to my destination, or it may lead me in the opposite direction. In such a situation, I believe that it is best to measure the best possible outcome against the worst.
Unless a specific situation is given, it's impossible to discern whether it is better or worse to fail or never try.

Fuck Failure. There is no such thing as complete failure. If you really want you CAN do something. If you fail, learn from your mistakes and do it better next time. If you never try you´re just some lazy fucktard with no self coinfidence.

Never trying, cause you'll live with the regret of "what if". What if I did this or what if I did that. You'll never know.

The worst option is of course "never trying".
Why? because if you don´t try anything in life, then you will learn nohting. Failing in life is normal. It is even better, because you learn from your mistakes.

Hmmmmmm. To me failing is worst. Nothing like wasted time, effort, passion, money, bloood, sweat and so on to let the world know you failed. Failure isn't too bad if you learned a lesson that will enrich your life or you find a new awareness of one's self. Like knowning your true strenght or your compacity to love for example. We all have one life to live and no one wants to waste anytime on a failure of any kind.

Hmm.. how should i say this..?
I guess well.. it depends on what the choices on a particular situation has..
Somethings are better not to try and somethings are...
If you know that the thing you want to try can get you into trouble or make your life worse then I guess it's better not to try..
But, on the other hand.. if you have some kind of a goal or something you want to achieve.. I guess the "learning from failure" thing can be applied.. You can always try and do your best to make something out from every mistake.. but it depends on how much determination you..
Umm.. I guess that's it.. err

Depends on the situation. Obviously there's your classic jokes about bungee jumping and skydiving, but I digress. I think failure can be a learning experience, whereas never trying leaves you at zero with nothing positive or negative.
tl;dr never trying
tl;dr never trying

Well, I'd say never trying is worse, because we'd regret not trying later and think of the possibilities of success as we regret.

I always say to myself that not-trying is worser than failing, but when push comes to shove, I can't bring myself to attempt it.

never trying is naturally the worse of the two. You learn what is wrong when you try and fail.
Just as naturally i never try.

Depends on what the goal is. If it’s realistic and you believe that with your abilities you can make it happen, then go for it. Learning from past failures is a plus too. Even if you fail to reach your goal, you can in some way help somebody else achieve the same goal. It’s a win win situation. You might as well try because you will get depressed either way: if you fail or if you don’t try at all. I think the recovery time is sooner if you fail though.

Special occasions like in college
When you fail your course, you gain confidence (if you got up) and exp that could be applied in life or other courses thus increasing the chance of success the next time, but you wasted time/semesters/months/years of your life (ex. instead of graduating at 19 you graduated at 21) and money of course
Never tried that course, you saved your money and time, but you wont gain anything and less confident than those who experienced failure (and got up)

Never go down without a fight.
At least, I will try it first, even though I probably fail in the end.
Failure is success if we learn from it.
Different story if the said person already know that the the success probability is 0%, yet he/she still trying. Then it's just dumb.

Never trying is failure in itself, so I'll take failing. Unless you're 100% sure that whatever option you choose won't have any effect. You'd bound to fail at least once in your life.
