Why Do People Believe in The Apocalypse?

Because it is stated in the bible? Also because it is said so by our ancestors who are supposedly smarter then us.Rumored that they had contact with alien's.
There are 2 things wrong with that
1. The Bible can be interpreted in many ways to people, some may think it is complete BS others find it a key to their lives
2. Old people aren't the best people to talk about Aliens, my grandpa told me a story about plant people that lived on Pluto, the day Pluto was no longer considered a planet, gramps decided to walk up to city hall and demand his money back for all of his pluto books

People believe in the apocalypse because we are egocentric. The world will "end" eventually, and we love feeling like we're important, so it spirals out into the assumption that we are the final generation.
This only happens to a minority, but it's still a pretty interesting phenomenon.

Generally idiots believe in extinction level apocalypses because of simple irrationality.Whilst they profess their god has no beginning, no end, they cling onto the mortal idea that because something has a beginning, it must also end.Combine that with self-destructive fervor that thrived from the coaxing of a loon who exploited a circumstantial event as a symbol whereas it's just a normal occurrence in the wheel of time and boom! You've successfully incited fear and reason in the hearts of the mindless and such have some substantial importance in society! Not that it will do much good, as we are all going to die a premature death supposedly.

I believe in an apocalypse. I just don't accept it.This. I know it's coming, I just hope I'm over 50yrs before it happens.
Ah, boo, boo, boo. No, if you'll be ever a witness to the world's final hour, you'd wish you never lived to see it.
Geh, it's very annoying to talk about the "end". You know? Such pain in the ass. But see, it only clicks because of the reaction of the people, and the "Oh yeah...." effect to those who hear this topic. Of course, it's natural to be scared, of course it's natural to be defiant, but the only good this topic brings is that humans become aware of their mortality, and probably make people think of a way on how to make their lives better and that is played well, in the same time, of value.
I think, if ever the world will end, people must not panic. Don't hide in your bomb shelters. Don't say goodbyes. Don't curse, blame or be mad at anyone. And don't ever, ever, cry. Why? You're facing the most real of all realities, and I think the lights will not come out suddenly if the sun collapses.
