Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2

Wellh.. As I thought, Activision rolled out another Call of Duty without changing anything, just to milk some money out of the "fans". Stopped buying their games since MW2 (Which was sort of a mistake really) and I'm not really regretting it.
There doesn't seem to be any redeeming features why this game should even be bought.. Same engine, roughly the same effects, same gameplay, same sad sound effects, heck even the color palette is still the same uninteresting one. They'll just keep doing this until people actually stop buying the games and force them to change the game, to make it more appealing to the gamers.

If you all played the first one, you will know woods sacrifices himself to kill dragovich who pulled the pins on teh grenades attached to his chest, in teh mission where you escape your captors and fly teh hinds through teh valley. Just didn't know he survives to be in teh second one. :D

New features - as in something that'll actually change how the game feels.
I do not personally count new weapons / maps as features. And since the game isn't out yet, it's hard to say are there new "settings".
Call of Duty used to be fairly innovative till Modern Warfare 1, when Activision decided to make the game their own every-year new somewhat similar game.
Tell me - are there any major differences on these games:
Modern warfare 1 - World at war - Modern Warfare 2 - Black Ops - Modern Warfare 3 - Black ops II?
Does the game engine change? Only answer here is no. Even the Black Ops II will use the heavily modified BO engine, which is a modified version of the IW Engine that has been used since Call of Duty 2.
Does the gameplay change to any sort of direction?
World at War introduced the zombie game mode, so I guess that is a new feature. I can't pull any new ones out of my head. I also admit that I enjoyed Modern Warfare 2 to some degree, when playing with a full party of people I know, using voice comms over Skype.
"oh call of duty is the same game black ops 2 will suck its just a copy and paste, all the games are just cash ins yap yap yap blah blah blah i love battlefield"
When did I mention battlefield or in fact any other game in this thread? None that aren't related to the game itself. Just wanting to point it out, but you seem to appear being the bit more of a "fanboy" here.
If you have a reliable source on that "it uses a different engine", please post this reliable source. I'd like to see if Activision actually allowed such change to their money making game.

Personally I think Call of Duty is One Of Those games you HATE to love but LOVE to hate(if that makes any sense at all). Yea every year it's pretty much the same just with new guns, maps, and Something that " Is going to change the Franchise forever!" but really it's not that much of a game changer as they say it is. But hey at least they change the time period of the game in the future and who knows this game might change how people see the Call of Duty franchise i guess we will to wait until the game comes out before we can really say if its Same Shit Different Disc.

Once again they are making new game, Black Ops 2. I'm sure that it's not only me who's tired of their constant releases, they really need to stop releasing so much.
This was my little rant/opinion.
What's your look on the matter?

Call of Duty has been getting worse every year. They need to slow down releases and focus on making better and more balanced games. The game hasn't been balanced, or even that good, since Cod4. There's no skill required in the games any more like in Cod4 - there's more camping every single release, more bullshit killcam, more pointless and terrible killstreaks (was better with just uav/airstrike/chopper in my opinion), awful spawning locations (often leading to multiple spawn kills in a row), unbalanced perks, and what's the point of death streaks? In my opinion, Modern Warfare 3 is the worst Cod game to date. Never have I seen a game more full of bullshit than this one. They never fix these problems yet pride themselves on and make claims about integration with and of the community - and that's all that seems to matter to them now. I don't give a shit about social integration with my games, I just want to play a game. I'm not surprised Robert Bowling left Infinity Ward - he actually did speak with the community as Community Manager and knew what a good game needed.

DOWN WITH COD!

So yeah, I definitely mirror your sentiments regarding Activision's milking of the series. Many believe they've concentrated so much time and effort into Call of Duty and its development, other studios under their mantle suffer.

I've never heard of people talking about Call of Duty until Modern Warfare. As in oh hey me and some friends are playing CoD on the PS2, come join us. "What's that?"
Now it's like "omg omg omg"
I don't really care since I don't play shooters.

To me, the only problem I have with this series is that they don't look like they are trying to improve the graphics. Well I'm not an expert on this topic since I don't play CoD that much and sure as hell not good at it, too.

@yurixhentai. I thought random was better since this isn't about a specific CoD game but just a little rant about how much CoD sucks now.
They shouldn't be allowed to make another CoD game for like at least three years. That way they have some time to sit down and think about how to make a good game.

The constant release is just too much for me, I only wanna know what's gonna happen to Captain Price and Makarov, but, since I finished it, I don't think I'll buy another CoD games.
And yeah, it's weird but I only buy Shooter games to finish the Campaign lol

As long as people keep buying it there will be a new one every year, they have already beat the genre to death.

If think Call of Duty is good. It keeps sites like these clean from 13 year-olds. And immature people in general.

2008 to present has been oversaturated with shooters. With no exceptional improvements other than marketing.
