Now, the R870 MCS, in both campaign and multiplayer, has a fairly long effective killing range for a shotgun, probably the longest in its class, but if you add the Long Barrel attatchment to it, you can pretty much dispatch poor saps at mid-range. Only gripe about it, which isn't surprising, is that it's pump action, but that's not really a problem once you drop the guy.I have that shotgun on MAX prestige/LVL and every Camo *since it's pretty much the only weapon i ever used in this game* and i usually get around 25/10 average K/D score with it.
But KSG has the longest range of any shotgun in the game in fact for me it misses on close/mid range MOST of the time *even on standing opponent at knife range* but i manage to kill snipers from the opposite side of the map *and i'm not joking* apparently it has unlimited headshot range but is too damn wonky for my taste.
Speaking of OP things...... Black Hat: The best tactical equipment a guy can EVER HAVE on him along with this CoD's SitRep perk.
It's usefulness is simply TOO great. I mean :
1) Rig Enemy equipment *mines, betties etc etc* and make it your own *if SitRep is equipped, can rig even through walls and ceilings
2) Blow Up enemy Killstreaks *Sentries and other stationary Killstreaks can be blown through walls as well*
3) If some idiot threw his Care Package off the screen you can use Black Hat to retrieve it's contents as long as you are in Black Hat's effective range *same can be done with enemy Care Packages* yes you can use Black hat to pick up Care Packages ~AT RANGE~
The only downside is that it's single use but..... Scavenger can help you with that.

I also like the KSG, (haven't unlocked it in MP yet), and you're right about its range.
Shotguns, for the most part, tend to be a bit unpredictable. For me, it's when range starts coming into play, though sometimes, spread can be rather helpful.

Ultimately, you don't have to actually do the Strikeforce missions if you don't want to.Granted, I had only a few problems with the AI, (most of which had no idea where the fuck to go, or realize that they don't have to go the freaking long way), but they do what most anyone expects them to do when you don't control them personally.
Only real gripe I have about the Strikeforce missions is that all of them seem to have steep varying levels of difficutly. Some of them are actually quite easy to do, while the others, like the first SF Mission, seem to be ridiculously hard.
Storywise, I'm glad they actually decided to mix things up for once. Granted, yeah, some things are beyond belief, (though it's a GAME, what did you expect?), but still good overall, and replay actually has value now.
Like I said before, the reason I'm so against the Strikeforce missions is because they actually affect the story. Sure, I can skip them, but then I won't get the "best" ending, which kinda pisses me off.
I accepted (and even kinda liked) the story for the first Black Ops because it stayed relatively grounded in terms of plausibility... sorta. But in this, it's just asking for too much, which made it hard for me to immerse myself into the story. This is also the reason why I hated Modern Warfare 2 and 3 so much.

The story in Black Ops was made to be believable, due to the classified nature of the Cold War, but Black Ops II, remember, takes place in both the Cold War, and a plausible-type of future.
The MW storyline was supposed to be something well within our time at least, but I could see where you're coming from about it. The story in MW3 just felt like it wasn't thought out well enough.
Hell, certain Special Forces outfits are already using quadrotors for recon and surveilance, won't be long until they start using them as a means for offense.
Again, as for the Strikeforce Missions; I wasn't all that surprised about the AI, which was about what I expected them to do when not in control of them personally. Enemy AI seemed to derp at one moment or two in each mission, but, again, the thing that bugged me the most was the varying difficutly curve in-between missions.
Also, unlike Black Ops, the replay value in part two has more incentive to it. Made a mistake and didn't like the outcome in one mission that screwed shit up on all future missions? You can easily go back and do what you think will make a difference.
I know I shouldn't have driven through that fire and burned the right side of Harper's face.

Spoiler:
it's not that bad that he gets half his face burned. At least you saved his a$$. :3
Anyway, I agree with those who were disappointed by the Strike Force missions. To me, they seemed like "single player multiplayer" experiences - that is, while in single player, they force you to experience what a multiplayer scenario would be (example, the team attacking and the team defending the facility in India).
Still, I liked the game a lot. The only bad things I have to say about the game are:
1- To start a new game, you have to overwrite everything, including every plot-relevant choice you made. What. :V
2- Strike Force missions are optional yes, but mandatory if you want the best ending.

UAVs are too OP in this game now. By making Ghost a lvl 55 perk, they're basically nerfing camping.
I don't camp, but I don't like how people will know exactly when I'm flanking them.

Alot of people i know agree with you the UAV is used to much like on maps in yenem, i can only say try to think one step ahead of folk.
if i can call out a issue i'd say its the knifing it's really hit or miss sometimes and also the amount of rage qutting from people being just over killed in the first 3 mins of a game via people with super high kill streaks.

People complained so much about ghosts in previous titles but the fact of the matter is, it took up a valuable perk slot. Granted, I haven't been playing much Black Ops 2, only around an hour during launch day, but since UAV gives assist now (exp), and exp from killstreak kills are nerfed, it just means that more people will be running UAVs in their classes and they're the easiest killstreak to get.
I guess I should spend a little more time on the game before critiquing it, but I'm definitely not so hot on the UAV/Ghost issue.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but I'll try anyway: does anybody know where to find the track that plays during the last level (Judgment Day)? I can't find it in the official OST. :V

I asked for Black Ops 2 for Christmas, excited to play it but once I got it my interest in Call of Duty when down so fast that's it is almost incredible.

I think the ksg is a little OP. Long range for a SG and with a silencer you are pretty much a silent 1 shot kill machine. (If you have the skill)

Its not that strong. Usually still 2 shots to kill. Also if you have any lag the game won't even read some of your shots

R870 MCS with long barrel and laser is pretty OP. I have almost 3,000 kills with it. You're almost unstoppable on Hijack with the correct load-out.

A friend of mine bought Black Ops, I spent a could of afternoons at his house taking turns playing with each death in Multiplayer and I loved it, even though he was doing most of the playing since I wasn't familiar with his setup and the overall game.
However, when I got to play it alone, exploring the game as I wanted to, I hated it, hated absolutely everything about it.
