Nothing impressive but thought I'd share my progress. currently at 7 wins 4 losses. All of this at higher level play due to me playing with higher level friends.

Just started playing a week ago and I will try to main one character first (like I do in every game).
My Hero now is Invoker. First tried QW Support Invoker, then a QW Burst with Tornado and EMP but wasn't my style :/ So I changed to EW and EQ Burst Invoker now. Hope to see some real results soon. Until now my most kills where through good teamplay and the right use of my spells but no real burst from my side :P

wow,you are new to the game,or new to Dota2?
In my opinion,Invoker is the hardest hero to use,too complicated, but he's a good hero in a good hand~
can adept into many kinds of situation, have escape mechanism, have a global skill, and so on~

It always seems like playing these types of games is difficult...yes,I think so too. Too many heroes and items, not to mention a hero or item have many kind of play style.
but I find it fun, there's no "end" in MOBA games, always play with new people,or try new heroes, game style, etc.

It always seems like playing these types of games is difficult...It's especially difficult for me, I don't exactly have the best battlefield awareness, nor do I know every little detail about this game. The result is that I often do things that just seem silly or costs the game. One example would be when I play SD, I often forget that Disruption is still useful late game, since I'm more used to just using Disruption to set up ganks. Though I guess practice makes perfect?

I have been playing and casting in an amateur reddit league recently. If you guys don't mind, can you watch the video and let me know which areas you think I need improvement on as a caster?
Here's the second video that I've ever casted.
Personally I think I need to make better use of the graphs and counters through out the match, as well as capture the team fights better. If there's anything else, let me know.

Too afraid to play because lag and rain season in this town e_e.
Meppo and Chen imo is the hardest hero to master.
>tfw i was good with ophelia (HoN) yet sucks with Chen (DotA1-2)
and i haven't tried Medusa. She's really need long ricing time.

Chen is by far my favorite hero. He fits in any lineup and is pretty easy to win with if you know what you're doing.
Can't wait for his cosmetics!!

It seems, raining season means more laggy connection for people in here.
hmmm..,I can play Chen, but hate when my team forced me to play with Holy Persuasion.
I took a lot of time to find the right creeps to use, especially after a war, that's why I prefer play with 1st and 2nd skill, hurts so much.

-Galen. I agree with that. Chen is awesome support, Test of Faith can be very useful for rescuing ally. Man I need to train my micro skill. I wonder what kind of cosmetic that suitable for Chen, can't think of anything.
-Ryuu. My usual net cafe connection comes from Jakarta. Jakarta is on flood now.
back to wc3 dota till everything back to normal now :/

Or rather, the micro controls are more confusing than wc3 DotA.
Which is why I respect Chen/Enchantress players who, either win or lose, micro with proficiency in DOTA2.

@Minakami Ryuu: New to Dota 2.
Games like Dota really have a really tough learning curve and I really hate the community sometimes :/ but my reason for even playing it is that when I'm good at it, it really is tons of fun :D
I play League of Legends and Dota2 nowadays. Starting with LoL and continuing with Dota2 I realize how fast Dota2 really is. I mean they are bot good games but sometimes I really need one more than the other.

Tutorial's being worked on. It's a feature that's highly expected because, as you say, the learning curve is steep and high.
Me and everyone in the Dota community, even veteran players, are totally psyched for the Tutorials to come online, so we can judge and comment on what could be done better to ensure new players would be eased into the game much better than just being thrown into a pub game.
Because that's what we ever wanted in the first place. More players.
Dota 1 is awesome, with lots of pros. But its greatest con is ACCESSIBILITY
You're required to have the wc3 frozen throne installed, then download the custom map made by icefrog. It isn't much of a problem in Asia. But in western countries, it's a big issue since not many still have access to wc3, not to mention the expansion pack.
Also, kids nowadays prefer higher, pristine graphics. Not clunky looking ones like the models of wc3. Which is another con of Dota (for most westerners), GRAPHICS.

Anyone had tried Least Played mode? I think this mode is kinda cool (or maybe I'm sick seeing DROW, SNIPER, and RIKI)
i think i'm gonna smurf around playing "unusual heroes" while hoping it's not lagging again.

I seem to do well with orbwalkers only, especially Viper and Huskar. Other than that I still suck.

Only just started playing random draft on this and its great. Granted, I usually manage to pick a hero I'm familiar with (not my best heroes, but good ones nonetheless) and managed to rack up a 7 win streak (first 7 games played on random draft ever, too). I think one part is that the players who queue for random draft are less likely to troll as it were. In those 7 games, only once did I get trolled. I picked Death Prophet first (as in, first person to pick for entire game, not just my team) and clearly said I was mid. Last guy on our team picks Huskar, okay, whatever. Then he goes mid. We only won because he went against Witch Doctor. So a pretty troll game but only one out of the 7, its pretty cool. I highly recommend trying it out.
