I never was a fan of DMC, hence the fact I like what's coming.

as a very very huge fan of DMC 1-4 (minus 2), i was sorely disappointed and angered at capcom's decision to tarnish dante's image to this point.

seriously though, WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!?

o.o;; We now have Twilight rejects as main characters in our action games, what next? Monster Hunter Twilight for a more "western touch"? MH was never popular in the west too, we'd see twilight rejects hunting vampires and werewolves in Monster Hunter 4, mark my words.

According to gamespot this is young dante. I can already imagine the ending of the game where his hair turns white and he becomes even more FABULOUS!

I noticed one thing while playing every DMC game. The thing is: the younger Dante is, the more moves he have. I guess with age you forget how to be cool. And the new devs noticed that fact and made him even younger lol. But this time he really looks like an mc from prototype.

Just without the hood then. Ah well, this is just a 2 minutes trailer. No reason to get all pissy just yet.

he had better not REALLY be dante, maybe some psychopath thats imagining all the fights and keeps thinking hes dante >>; at least thats what the trailer looks like. (and im trying to convince myself so as well)

Actually that would kinda make sense. If this is still the same Dante and he's even younger than 3, then maybe he just hasn't awoken to his demonic abilities yet, resulting in this more human look. I mean how many normal people have white hair? You can't forget that Dante is only a half demon. SO maybe this one is about how he became a badass in the first place.

I think he looks like Hilary swank from Boys dont cry.



Whatever the case, he doesnt look like dante and that doesnt bode well. Lets wait for gameplay vids at least

If this is to be Dante, prior to all other DMCs, then I might give it some tolerance, but I still don't agree with the choice that was made on his drastic change... =/

Yeah they are. *shrug* That's pretty much all this thread is. I'm actually excited for this game because despite the new look because the game itself still looks fun so whatever.

Yeah. I'm assuming it's an extension of how Nero played because I mean, why get rid of that mechanic? It was awesome.

I hope the only thing they drastically changed is dante's appearance and not the gameplay.
Edit: now that the initial shock is over i'm starting to warm up to it.

If this Dante looks like Twilight characters, then I suppose so does every single male lead in Final Fantasy games, as well as 80% of every other Japanese protagonists in video games. Seriously, you guys are taking a pop culture reference from our side and putting it onto Dante's new look.

You act like this is some drastic new look that has never been done before. Also, Dante in DMC4, which I am sure is why most people here are QQing as they don't know that Dante already looked young and extremely FABULOUS in DMC3, he still looked like an overly pretty unrealistic douche. That didn't make him any less badass though. DMC3 was better than DMC4 in my opinion.

What character are you referencing him too? Edward? That motherfucker is so pale and sickly looking to the point where you would think he's a zombie not a vampire. Maybe no one is actually referencing him, they're just going young > good looking > in a demonic world > vampire looking > Twilight character. That makes sense. /sarcasm

Dante's mugshot looks like he would rape you, then kill you, then rape you again. He's suppose to be 17 I believe in this reboot and he looks like he has abused drugs since he was 10 and battles demons on a regular bases, which he does.

To me, you guys referencing Dante to a Twilight character is way more insulting then the way the developers changed his looks.

If you ask me I would say it looks pretty cool! And the fact that he might be under 18 sounds cooler!! In the trailer the voice says "Young Offenders rehabilitation programs" I take my guess from there!^_^
