One thing that irks me is that if this was a reboot and have no relation to the previous game (and is not supposed to replace it), why did capcom license Devil May Cry 5 days before TGS =/ its a bad omen imho.Lets hope not

in my opinion, in that trailer the coolness of 'this boy' that resembles dante starts at 1:44 , though i've never seen dante smokes
regardless on the looks, i think the game will still kickass

Maybe if you people bitch enough, then they'll change the character design back to the old one like Sucker Punch did. Sucker punch is those few devs that actually listens, but then again they could have originally planned for old cole to be a costume swap at some point or unlockable and upon fan's bitching they just simply used the old cole model.
Besides, its ninja theory, they dont exactly ace in character design.Look at heavenly sword protagonist. Its almost a female kratos.

The person interrogating Dante sounds like a cold-hearted detective. Which is freaking awesome, mind you. Demonic inspector anyone?

Something just hit me. Correct me if I'm wrong. But since we are going to see a even younger Dante than the one from DMC3, doesn't that mean we can POSSIBLY see Virgil and this is a big maybe; Dante mom

well i actually thinking about the devil trigger mode in this game
we all know dante's demon power awakaned when he was stabbed by virgil in DMC 3 , i wonder what capcom would use as devil trigger in this game, since if there IS any devil trigger in this game, DMC 3 would not be the first time dante awakens his demon power then
oh and i wonder if we met his father here XD

True in fact he may not exist. But I would think he would since if and this is a big IF I remember right they were born at the same time. And if thats true then its likely he does exist.
But then again this is all just a theory. Just something to throw out there.

they could just make it so that his weapon can take on a new morph after copying a boss our something like that...you know basic action-adventure game logic lol

I imagine a demonic arm chainsaw. This game would be saved if it had that. Now where's that boomstick...

Official Word on Ninja Theory
The next instalment of the multi-million selling Devil May Cry™ franchise, DmC sees Capcom collaborating with UK based Ninja Theory to explore new frontiers for the series. DmC is in development for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3.
From its debut on PlayStation 2 in 2001, the Devil May Cry series has been synonymous with stylish action, rewarding combat and a brash, smart-talking protagonist. This †˜Devil May Cry DNA’ remains but is now injected with a dark and brutal gameplay that promises to redefine the franchise. Set against a contemporary backdrop, DmC will depict a duplicitous world where nothing is ever as it seems and the line between good and evil is constantly blurred. Spurred into action by the promises of a trusted relation, Dante bursts into this world intent on revenge at any cost. DmCwill retain the series’ signature mix of sword and gunplay but add additional weapons, all new powers and a revitalised gameplay system as players encounter the game’s devilish mix of enemies and navigate the rich, interactive environment. A true collaboration, DmCsees the team at Ninja Theory joined by key staff from Capcom’s R&D division. Creative direction for the title will be undertaken by Ninja Theory’s Tameem Antoniades and overseen by Hedeaki Itsuno, who has worked on all previous titles in the series. DmC is being co-produced by Capcom’s Japanese and North American development operations.
