as much as the opening of the petition has many... grammatical errors, (i didnt do it xD), to those who dislike the changes in dante can sign it and we can probably hope to get capcom to learn to learn from the mistakes of others (aka infamous 2)

yea, its a reboot, from wiki (which is unreliable), they say that capcom stated that this has no relation to the previous DMC at all.

One can only hope this does not completely replace the DMC series like how Xenosaga replaced Xenogears (oh god, please no).

but lol @ the raiden one xD at the very least, he is a separate character, hes not "solid snake" when he was younger =p and hes nowhere near as bad as this monstrosity

I suggest if they're gonna make a reboot at least ommit the incremental digit and replace it with, i dont know, probably something that will separate it from the canonical series.

I never said the game trailer was awesome. Misconception on your part. The only thing I like was the character design. The rest of the trailer just looked like any old DMC trailer. Reminded me a lot of DMC4, which is a bad thing. If you thought I was arguing towards the trailers awesomeness, then you completely misunderstood.

I was simply saying that your rage is annoying because it's premature and it's like you're enraged over what they have done, like it has never happened before. All that has been shown is a teaser trailer, which has shown that Dante has a design change and that he is in trouble with some sort of agency, association or criminal prevention group. No one knows really. With that two minute teaser trailer, you have gone into a long drawn out rant about nothing really with no real information to back it up except a lot of references to the old series which has nothing to do with this reboot.

As others and myself way back on page 2 have said, this is DMC, a reboot. Since you seem to be referencing past events, as well as saying they should omit the 5 from DMC, that tells me you didn't even bother watching the trailer before going into your rage rant. Nice.

There is something called as PRESENTATION, how the game presents itself and trailers are part of that. Well right now the game just presented itself in a horrendous way only the makers could love. In trailers, before, everyone can tell that Dante kicks so much ass that his boots already smell of fart. THIS Dante however is different as our first impression is that he smokes so much weed that he now breathes pot instead of air.

Now for your favourite phrase "then dont buy the game"- then don't come here. Because if you DO open your internet you will find yourself disappointed as all you will see is rage of epic proportions, the kind of rage that ticks you so much that you have to act like a douche even though that rage isn't directed at you. To be MATURE, which is what you always try to portrait, doesn't mean you need to be a living doormat and simply let studios like this walk on you without at least whincing your thoughts. They gave us a teaser and we are free to react violently or acceptingly to this.

It is a reboot like how Xenosaga was a reboot of Xenogears under the name of a different company.

Except, Ninja Theory/Capcom is stupid enough not to learn from the mistakes of Sucker Punch and Infamous 2.

doubtful...capcom isn't THAT retarded if it fails then they go back to the previous formula..if it works then they'll keep it..hell my guess is this becomes a side universe much like the megaman from the megaman legends game...DMC is a huge title for capcom..it really shouldn't shock anyone that they decide to experiment with it...like they have with resident evil...and street fighter....and megaman...see the pattern here ?

I don't think he would stay in this teenage form for the entire series. That would bottleneck the writers. I definitely hope as well as many others I'm sure, that he gets out of his teens and into his mid 20's. It's way too early to be worried though. We know little to nothing about the game yet. When they announce that the game will be played with a Justin Bieber soundtrack, then we can curse it's very existence.



I don't think anything can be that bad. I don't remember much about those games, but I remember being displeased.



I would like for a character change. I don't love this current design, but I don't hate it either. He definitely looks like he's crazy and strung out though, which I like. I was so glad when they brought back the old Cole from Infamous and un-Nathan Drake'd him. Going as far as to reference this Dante to Twilight characters is too far though. Those guys are faggots and Dante is FABULOUS. Such a clear difference.

but yea, i dont mind change, its just that I dont like the current change at all, and he really does look like a twilight vampire to me, maybe its just me. I would actually enjoy a more "psychotic" dante, just not like this.

with what was revealed, nothing much can be theorized since its a complete reboot, nothing from the previous games can be referenced. So far, its only possible that all those monsters and stuff are just part of his imagination coz hes just psycho (thats what the trailer led me to believe).

Maybe if you people bitch enough, then they'll change the character design back to the old one like Sucker Punch did.

Gak! Well...the new look shocked me quite a bit. I don't know, personality wise, he's still pretty goddamn badass. His look though...it doesn't have that "AWESOME! COOL!!" flair to it, ya know? What I DO like about his new look is that psychotic feel. Still, in the end, I prefer silver haired Dante, BY FAR.

One thing that irks me is that if this was a reboot and have no relation to the previous game (and is not supposed to replace it), why did capcom license Devil May Cry 5 days before TGS =/ its a bad omen imho.
