There's more to Saber and Rin then it's first apparent, as you know from playing the first two routes. Sakura's the same.

It all comes down to Archer, really. It's a no brainer, as this is THE choice that changes the routes.
The first big change, is that Archer (if I remember correctly) killed Berserker at the graveyard (and if not killed, badly wounded). This caused Ilya to not come out to the forefront as much, and that made Caster be less worried about her, and allowed her to gather more energy and be more bold in her actions.

As far as HF goes:

To me, the fact that Rider died quickly in HF caused Zouken to take drastic measures, and that was the main trigger. As you said, in the other routes Rider dies after a week or more, and it's too late to do anything at that point.

When Shinji had Rider in HF at first, he was a fresh master, and Rider was week because of it. In the other routes, it looks like she managed to regen some energy over that time.
And I don't recall any conversation about Rider not being able to use her Bellophon. Yeah, later Sakura was in pretty bad shape, due to the influence of Angra Manyu (spelling), but since that influence didn't manifest in the other routes, it was fine enough.


Spoiler:

1: You're right, the difference between UBW and Fate is Archer. Hell, UBW is all about Archer/Shirou (No, that is not a Yaoi slash [Although I don't know if that would count as masturbation or not...]). The catalyst difference in UBW is that Archer is actually present for long enough to not be killed by Berserker in Ilya's house, and forces Berserker off early on instead of Saber getting her ass kicked. Consequently, Shirou's love for Saber doesn't develop because he doesn't watch her nearly die (He kept flashing back to her all bloody and hunched over in Fate, if you recall).

2: In UBW, Berserker is killed by Gilgamesh after Caster takes Saber and Archer defects. Tohsaka and Shirou go to Ilya's looking for help, and Gilgamesh kills Berserker and takes Ilya's heart for later use in Holy-Grail-Summoning. That's also where Lancer becomes their friend, if I recall.

3: You're completely wrong about Rider. She never dies in HF. I think you're confused about something. But your second point, that the main difference for HF is Zouken's action, is completely correct. I think it has less to do with Rider as it does with Shirou meeting Zouken early on, though. It's not as obvious why that happens as it is in UBW, but... well, whatever. I didn't like HF anyways.

I totally agree. I liked Rin's and Saber's route way better than Sakura's. I didn't like the weird story line for it.. The heroine is a ... friend of men. That's a real let down i.i I don't think Shiro should be like that.

How can I enter the Heaven's Feel route? Do I still need to finish the 2 endings in the Unlimited Blade Works route to be able to enter that route?

yes, you need to actually finish Fate and Unlimited Blade works first.

Actually, it would be more like the three routes are Saber, ARCHER, and then Sakura. You could have erased the romance with Rin in UBW and the story wouldn't have changed much. In fact, Nasu even said this himself. However, UBW played more like a love triangle than anything else.

More like, Fate is the idealism of a child, UBW is realizing that you need to make sacrifices for your dream but still reaching for it, Heaven's Feel is having to choose between the ideal and the reality and growing up.

That said, UBW is still my favorite route followed by Heaven's Feel with Fate being my least favorite of the three. UBW is just, well, it's COOL. Everything is turned on it's head early on, allies become enemies and enemies become AWESOME allies. Plus, all the Big Damn Heroes moments in the route as well from both Archer and Lancer.

We all know that UBW is the GAR route. Fate remains my personal favorite ... I'm weak against sad endings.
Heaven's feel goes 3rd not because it was bad...It had an awesome story. I just don't like Sakura.

I honestly don't like Sakura either, but I do like Ilya and HF made me realize how awesome Kotomine was. However, I didn't like how quickly Lancer was taken out.

I love the girl cuz she gets the best ending out of the 3 routes IMHO.

Ok I agree why the Sakura hate? From the first time I played the game it was obvious she was the one. Or is everyone as dense as the main character in not realizing she has been in love with him and he is in love with her even if he is too stupid to realize it. Actually the Tohsaka end annoyed me most since of the forced H-Scene.
