Final Fantasy versus 13 (PS3 Exclusive)

According to Kotaku, Versus XIII has been cancelled.

I swear to God, when I saw Gamesradar relay the news just now, my heart stopped for a split second.

Pretty unfortunate since it looked pretty good. Probably the project got stuck or it didn't fit with Square-Enix stupid philosophy as of late (appealing to the west markets). I was actually pumped for this game.

Anyway, for better or worse, now Nomura will probably concentrate on making KH3. I believe he said that he couldn't do one since he was stuck with Versus (among many other projects). Of course, knowing Square, they'll involve him in that rumored Final Fantasy XIII-3 and that's it. Of course, I hope that's not the case since that one has its own director and I want to see the next TWEWY or KH game.

I hope this news is false. I'd rather see Versus than a XIII-3.

You're not alone there. I'd say that's what most people wants, myself included.

As a religious Square Enix fanboy, I would give up all hopes for the company's future if they pulled a XIII-3 out of their ass and didn't come out with Versus.

Which looks to be the likely scenario.

Of course that doesn't mean Versus isn't coming out. It's most likely canceled but it hasn't been confirmed yet.

And yeah, I'm a Square fanboy as well but not this generation Square. Same goes for Capcom but that's another thing altogether.

Wow, now that is depressing.

I am not even that excited about it anymore,it's been too long already.I mean when they announce it and give a date then maybe I'll go "yeah cool,guess I'll pick it up",but go "omg!finally this is what I've been waiting so many years for!This is gonna be the best game ever!"...no.I seriously want it to come out though,it looks cool and it could be a clue on what direction SE should take with future games.I do think that they should go back to a style closer to the original Final Fantasy games(strong story,but more freedom).

You didn't read the above post by Hentanize, did you Asuka koga? Wait til Tokyo Game Show and all should be good. I for one pray that Nomura shines some light on this game.

Wasn't looking forward to this game but S.E must have pissed all their fans off with this move.

All I want is a Dragon quest game for the PS3, but that'll never happen.

Square seems to be forgetting they have other good franchises like dragon quest and parasite eve. People wouldn't mind the next kingdom hearts game get released ether.
