Bro, IX is the BEST FF game. The design is all part of the charm. The entire game is supposed to be a callback to the previous Final Fantasy games hence the fantasy setting and character designs. It's also a nice change especially after playing VII, and VIII, which are set in a modern setting.

Have fun with that fight. It's pretty simple and straight-forward.

Actually, are there any final fantasy games that don't have awesome storylines? I've been meaning to play VI and VIII... not sure about IX... the character designs kinda put me off... >.>

This man speaks the truth, IX was the shit. Vivi has to be one of my favorite characters in the entire franchise. I'm actually replaying it right now, on the tail end of disc 2. Black Mage Village scenes ftw.

I have to be one of the few who actually liked VIII's battle system and dude, Alexander. (RAGE IN IX FOR HIS DEATH, BUT HE PUT DOWN BAHAMUT SO I GUESS IT EVENS OUT) Also, the FMV for
Spoiler:
Galbadia vs Balamb
was epic win.

Back to FFX, Blitball was really easy for me after the first one, there are a lot of excellent low level players (Biggs and Wedge I'm looking at you) that can easily pave the way to the big leagues.

Against Luca what a lot of people do is score one goal (Ject shot really help here), then hide behind the goalie for the rest of the game.[spoil]

That kind of kills the fun in the sport right there. Personally I like a little challenge when playing the Luca Goers the first time.

It's pretty simple, really. Just follow what the tutorial tells you and adjust it to your liking by practicing and you'll get the hang of it.

I also love VIII's battle system and the music is great. The battle theme and victory fanfare are some of my favorites in the series. I just can't stand the story and terrible, and shallow characters. Squall and Rinoa are the only ones who get some character development.

Spoiler:
Ultimecia is also one of the worst villains in the series. Kinda hard to care about her when she never shows up in person until the final battle

Get new team mates. The starting team for the Aurochs aren't all that great and there are plenty of low level players with excellent stats that can win you games. Wedge among them. Later on Techs will be what carry the day.

Forwards: Shoot, Endurance, then Speed
MF: I generally want my MF's to have good Pass, Endurance (they get punched alot) Block. Speed is helpful. Different people have different ideas as to what a MF is though.
Def: Block, Attack, Pass.
G: Catch

Early On you can get:
LF: Tidus (Jecht Shot OP)
RF: Wedge (Starts of with 17 SH, once other shooters come to prominence he can play defensive roles decently), Vilucha (Good stats, and starts with Wither Shot 3)
MF: Zev Ronso (Tanky and good pass, slow as molasses though) Brother (He's good)
D: Ropp/Naida (They both start a little slow, but gradually get better)
G: Jumal (Keepa sucks, and other good goalies don't come till later or on other teams.)
With the above team I generally had enough power on all positions to completely run over other teams. Remember though, always keep an eye out for potential players as not all your starting members have the growths to keep up as your BB level increases. Don't be afraid to steal other teams players, some of them are really good. Also, get as many Techs as you can, tech copy is your friend.

When you start out, regardless of team composition try playing against the Beasts. They suck. Really, really, badly. At least until they reach higher levels, in which case they murder everyone and make you sad. The hardest team are the Psyches early on, so play them if you want a challenge, while the most annoying team are the Ronsos, because they don't die.

Nice list, yours is so much more user friendly
This was mine, stock Blitzball Team is SO stock:

LF: Larbeight (Kilika Port - Docks)
RF: Isken (Kilika Port - House)
MF: Vilucha (Besaid Village - House)
DL: Ropp (Miihen Highroad - Travel Agency)
DR: Kulukan (Kilika Port - Tavern)
G: Nimrook (Airship - Corridor)

Hard on for Kilika much?
Of course, this was mine during end game, so some of them could only be aquired once their licences had expired with their teams.

If your after something more reasonable, here:

LF: Nedus (Luca Harbor - Number 1 Dock)
RF: Tidus (Always Available)
MF: Brother (Airship - Bridge)
DL: Ropp (Miihen Highroad - Travel Agency)
DR: Wedge (Luca Stadium - Main Gate)
G: Nimrook (Airship - Corridor)

These guys are available when you meet them, except Nimrook I think, but if not swap him out for Wedge, he is a good goalie :D

I like FFX as much as the next guy but why couldn't they focus their attention elsewhere, such as their older (and obscure) titles like Terranigma and Bushido Blade? Even better, why not focus simply on FFXIII Versus and ensuring that it turns out to be one of the best FF games ever?

I seriously hope FFX HD will truly be an HD "remix" as opposed to just simply a PS2 game with upscaled graphics look HD. Otherwise, I'll be very disappointed.

Okay i have a question, I want to get the aeon "Anima". But the thing is i cannot get it unless i find all of the hidden treasures in all of the temples. Can i go back and get these treasures or is it once i miss it i blew my chance?

Yes, you can go back to each temple and get the hidden treasures.
