Just finished this game...
I liked this game a lot especially the story it gives me a feeling of damn suspense like detective conan manga and the emotional moments especially in the Haru line~
The ending is touching and well deserved too for every character....

But I'm getting a hard time to find a better VN now any good recomendations?

Sharin no Kuni, if you haven't read it already. Personally, I find it's protagonist, Villain, and most of the other characters more interesting and likable and it's comments on society ring true.
Ever 17 is another great one, but be prepared to put alot of time into this as it requires you to finish every single route to unlock the true ending but...once you do reach that true route you'll be in for a surprise as everything comes together beautifully.
Higurashi, even if you've seen in the anime, is a great experience from what I've read of it(finished the first half) and I don't think I've read a VN with better suspense. Note that there is no voice acting and no CG. Just character sprites and utterly fantastic sound effects and music.
Those are probably my favorite three.

G-Senjou no Maou and Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo are written by the same person, so chances are if you enjoyed one, you will enjoy the other.

Just finished the game tonight. What an epic ride this was. Though I was hoping for a more happier ending for Haru, she seemed to have gotten the short stick compared to the other heroines. But I guess the finale was enough even though there are things to overcome for Haru and I stop myself before I release a spoiler. I certainly wish for a better ending still but this isn't that bad as well. I wish them the best and for their happiness, even though that may sound weird.
And I agree Haru is best, Mizuha second best.

did you finish this up to chapter 5 only or up until the epilogue coz that one is really haru's true end and such a nice ending if i do say so myself

Yes, I saw it all the way through... but it's still painful. You know all that lost time? Trying to pick my words carefully so there's no spoiler. But yeah, it's still a good sweet ending. They can keep going~

Man best VN I ever played so far. The storyline was also very interesting that you would get absorbed into it very fast.
EDIT: Nvm found out that there's an epilogue after the credits so turns out I didn't finish it yet.

what the hell, this is absonutely a good VN, i got cried a bit while every girls visited kyousuke at visitor session. and the ending was quite good too, i didn't expected they were had a daughter before.

I'd just say 'whatever' but rebuttles that are a result of blatant fanboyism aggrivate me.
[spoil]the point was that Maou made a move 'coincidentially' when Azai has these headaches. You know this so don't pretend this isn't an issue. The writer(s) used this extremely poor thought out tactic in order to trick the reader. Considering this VN had a few well-written poetic justices (which I doubt many of you have or will ever pick up and simply call this a 'good vn' just cuz you liked it) it is ultimately facepalm worthy that the writer would then ruin their credibility with such a retarded plot point. Makes me wonder if thee games really are for adults. Besides, its obvious that they 'wanted' to trick the reader in to thinking that Azai is maou. Anyone with a shread of sense of story structure would know that the least-possible person that mauo could be would be Azai, because that would be way too obvious. But they were still desperate to dig this in, and thats where the plot holes inevitably emerge. Theres also that guy Mauo playst he finger game with where he says that Mauo must be younger than him, but since mauo's youngest possible age has to be 28, we know that to be a lie on the writer's part.

Well if I'm going to lose rep for this post then I won't hold back: *Ahem* This VN seems to have a northern america complex, if tthis VN kissed america's ass any more than it already does then I bet the characters school uniforms would be red white and blue. If nuking Japan leads to VN's that kiss their nukers ass, then I bet if my country did a fullon invasion of japan they would build statues and worship my country. There is sooo much falsified information regarding Foreign countries in this VN. And I don't mean just subtle stuff, I'm talking idolising an evil country and/ totally demonising a decent country by blaming what the evil country did on that other country? Thats really pushing it. I hope the japanese gamers don't take it seriously.

Mizuha route seemed really half-assed in my opinion. I liked the VN as a whole, but none of the heroines really appealed to me. The non-Haru routes could have had more meat to them too. I liked Sharin no Kuni, but G-Senjou no Maou felt way too similar. It makes me feel like the company only has a few ideas. Other than that, pretty enjoyable. I liked the male characters over the female ones, with the exception of Eichi.
PS - My favorite doujin game is Sengoku Rance, so I'm not complaining about the game for lack of depth or anything.
