It's turn based but a lot harder because you are always trying to figure out the best move in the 1-2 seconds it takes to cast it and if you change your move halfway you have to start all over again. I guess you could discount the gambits from making it turn based because if you get enough of em you don't even have to play the game besides running around. But pretty much every boss fight I turn my gambits off and its back to old style of playing again.

Yes I beat the game and the side quests it's just I prefer the original turn base style on any Final Fantasy other than 12

When I saw this a week ago I went crazy all over my house I have this game pre-ordered online for my imported PSP and all I can say is Bartz Klauser FTW and the other thing I'm happy about Bartz is his seiyuu it's the same dude who does Keichii Maebara from Higurashi Soichiro Hoshi and did anyone check the update if I'm reading this right Shantotto from FF XI has now been added and is voiced by none other Megumi Hayashibara best known for her role as Lina Inverse from slayers here's the link

I know of those challenges amigo, ... (shortened) ... [AT9]Aside from speed runs and low-level games, the only way to actually make strategy a necessity is to play something extreme like an initial equipment, no item, command Materia only game.

I'm a little behind the times, but I thought the remake was still up in the air?

here is the article that says it will be released on ps3 but theres no exact date of itHere's the quote from the Square Enix representative in that article:
"Since the Final Fantasy VII tech demo at E3 2005, there have been a lot of rumors about the presentation hinting at an actual remake. While the June 2006 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly confirms the remake for release in 2007, Square Enix has never stated this.
We have however confirmed that development has begun for Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII on PlayStation 3. These titles are part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis Project which also includes a mobile game titled FINAL FANTASY Agito XIII."

He doesn't say that a remake of FFVII will be released. He says that Square Enix has no plans of remaking it.

Okay, I'm going to say a few things:FFVII is old, so if you're big on graphics, don't bother.
The story can be confusing if you don't pay attention to some parts.
You might need a walkthrough at some parts. It can get tricky figuring out what to do sometimes.
The game is LOOOOONG.
Prepare to be mindfucked quite a few times.
If possible, try to survive long enough to see Supernova at the end.
i have the game but just too lazy to get back playing. (~.~)
