comparatively BB and SFIV are dead easy compared to games of old, such as GG and CVS2. XIII isnt as much of a pain as 02UM, but a lot of the advanced stuff is a bitch to do regardless though.
also worth noting, the netcode in this game is ass. Im hearing 4 bars are playable at best, but everything i played is fucking terrible.

You're seriously comparing BB's execution level to that of SFIV? A game that literally insist of the emphasis of QCF and DP shortcuts? The only thing SFIV has that can be seen as "oh hey this a little tough" is plinking, BARELY.
Sure, KOF has abit more strict execution, but that's only towards anyone who has low to moderate executon anyway. Someone with higher execution can just as easily adjust to linking chains in KOF than someone with moderate execution.
BB doesnt have this "dead easy" execution level you're referring to. You cant honestly sit there and tell me that Tsubaki's 623C > j.214A DP Whiff combos and set ups are easy to pick up. You cant say that IAD inputs (not 866 or 844) are easily buffered for air combos at first glance. Makoto and Valk are no different.
5BB > 5CC > 623C > j.214A > Dash 2CC > 236B > 214B > 22B is in NO WAY just as easy as DP > FADC > DP (Ultra).
A game that requires much more "precise" button input is in no way just as easy as one that requires novice to moderate button input.

I guess you didnt get the bigger point I made within my post. So I'll say again anyway. Anyone with higher execution can just easily adjust to another game's execution requirements as opposed to someone with lower execution. GG isnt much BB than either.
Also Capcom vs SNK 2's execution level isnt even difficult, are you kidding me?

So I've finally had a little bit of an opportunity to put some time in on this game. My team is...odd to say the least. I started this game want to run Kula, Leona, and King, my actual team is Kula, Athena, and Mature. I'm pretty sure that has something to do with my lack of stick at the moment, but that should be fixed in like a week or so. Anyway, it is a damn shame about this netcode. 4 bars is good, 3 can be okay, I've had 2 bar go from 3 bar status to playing games underwater status, and 1 bar is just lolno. I hope they patch this or make some sort of effort to fix it because I actually enjoy this game and it would be a shame to see it die before it even gets a chance to build a community because of shit online play.
On the topic of execution though, man did that take some readjusting. It's been so long since I've played a KoF game that I forgot about how it felt and really how it played in general. At least I still run GG daily with friends so I didn't have to do that much retraining as far as execution goes. Anyway, this game is pretty damn fun, hopefully they fix this broken ass online and more people can enjoy it.

But yeah, I most certainly hope he's not trying to say that BB has just as low execution as SFIV. Because if that's the case, then he needs to go play the game and actually learn how to do things.
If I was to make a comparison, I'd say it's easier than SF4. Learning SF4 the real way is a lot more effort at least, since there's a lot more link and OS grinding involved, which is really time consuming (For all the wrong reasons tho.). BB has a bunch of fairly straightforward OS etc as well (Throwteching with barrier, Airteching with barrier, 3c jumpcancel safejumps etc.) but they're more of a "knowing about it" issue than actual input challenge.
BB is a combo oriented game, but it still has some of the easiest and lenient combos out there. You're mentioning Tsubaki and her DP whiff (Which aren't actually DP whiffs, more like j.214A whiffs for fastfall purposes.) who is pretty much that one character in the game who stands out for even easier than average combos to perform - I'm just saying it looks irritating when theres someone trying to pose with his execution then mentions BB and Tsubaki in the same sentence. Chances are you shouldn't tell someone with the knowledge to call you out on that to "learn how to do things".
--
On a more KoF13 related note, I managed to narrow it down to 3 characters that work fairly well in a team, so yayness. The whole spacing and meter management aspect of the game are getting pretty interesting by now, but I really wouldn't give it credit as being "hard to execute" or anything like that.

Chances are you shouldn't tell someone with the knowledge to call you out on that to "learn how to do things".^ This here, I honestly cannot take you seriously anymore after that statement. The sheer fact that you believe that a game such as SFIV is harder to learn than BB (which is laughable by the way) is one thing. But you saying a moderately more difficult character to master, Tsubaki, is a character that has the easiest combos to perform. When the easiest character in the game is Ragna.
I FIND IT IRRITATING that someone says that without any real knowledge of the character and the game outside of "combo oriented game". I can assume you are or probably ever werent that good in the game.
And to think, all of this is coming from you "barely" picking up KOF.

I think as far as footsies and spacing and all goes, street fighter [series in general, not just IV but ST, 3S, Alpha, CVS, etc.] is a lot more difficult
in any case, back on the subject of KOF, starting to get a lot more consistent with HD mode but main issues are hitconfirming off of a random hit into HDC. :/
also fighting kula is still a pain in the ass, why is this char so braindead

You are trying to control much more than just spacing on the ground in this game. You are trying to control aerial and ground footsies (Jin, Rachel, Arakune, Tager, Lambda, Mu, Valk all come to mind).
But you know what, I'm just about done with this. Both are very different games anyway.

Says the man who raged. But hey there were points I agreed with you on. lol
I just hope I can still do Clark's steiner as an anti jumper like back in 02 UM and 03. In XII, I couldn't pull it off.

Wasnt raging, otherwise I'd be making cussing and throwing insults everywhere.
Anyway, I'm still keeping tabs on this game as I still plan to get it. Just still undecided on who to make as my main character out of the three I plan to play. I'm thinking maybe Kula since I'm practicing her more than Athena in 2002 UM. But we'll see.

KOFXII did not have invul frames on command throws, one of the reasons why clark in particular was so bad in that game. XIII IIRC still has not restored those invul frames, but his weak SAB now has armor on it, like Ralf did in the older games.

In all fairness, KOF XII wasn't that bad of a game at its core. Sure, it didn't have a big roster and it was lacking in modes and plot, but in terms of it just being a simple arcade fighting game it really wasn't that bad. Of course, people will complain that some characters didn't "play out" the same way as they did before but how hard is it to just start over and learn the moves? Anyway, I admit I never bought KOF XII but I did play it for quite a while at some random arcade store that I ran into. It was okay for what it was but simply not for the pricetag that it had.
In regards to KOF XIII, it's definitely a big improvement over the previous one so I'm glad. And the fact that it's only $10 less compared to normal retail-priced games it's definitely worth buying even now. (You could probably find better deals elsewhere, and if you preordered it you got a 4CD soundtrack which in itself would have been worth $10 IMO so it's almost as if you're buying the game for only $30.) My only gripe with KOF XIII right now is how "tight" the controls are. It almost leaves no room for errors. Maybe I'm just getting old, or maybe I'm getting rusty with the fight stick, or hell, maybe it's because it's been a long time since I've actually played a decent, challenging fighter, but I'm having a hard time pulling off some basic super moves like dragon punch and fireball motions. I can't do them consistently like I could with SFIV. And combos? Lol, I can only do the basic ones that require three or four executions as opposed to the more damaging, long-stringed combos. I just need more practice I guess.

idk, weak SAB absorbs damn near EVERYTHING. combine that with a faster hop, and the fact that he can STILL TECH THROWS IF SOMEONE TRIES TO THROW HIM OUT OF SAB, its a fucking scary tool, man.

Best game of Evolution 2012. Let's hope to see it in 2013. It was definitely the most hype in my opinion.
Mad KOF's DuoLon was insane. I'm surprised Bala couldn't find a way to deal with it. Still, the KOF top 8 was definitely my favorite of the day.
