Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII

I've never finished FF7 but I thought it had the best themes. I really liked the boss battle song from XIII though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWVdnCI3Xl0 . But that's about it.

Trailers are supposed to get you hyped because they give you the gist of the whole story while, at the same time, without really revealing anything at all.

Sadly, this one didn't really get me hyped up for the game. Sure the graphics and sound seem nice. But aside from that, what else was there?

The blatant "13 days before the end of the world" and the "Lightning Returns" slogan doesn't really pique ones curiosity that much.

I think square enix should really stop making sequal of the games they made FF X-2 didint work.. I havent really started playing FF 13-2 but from what I heard its not that good either.. and now we got FF 13 versus and lightning return.. @.@

The only thing X-2 failed at was the whole character transformation (and that didn't bother me one bit). Besides that it was an awesome RPG that didn't fail at all. XIII wish it was as good.

Can't wait for the day they're going back to using the classic Turned Based system, ATB and all that shit. That's what made the series famous and it never got old even after 10 episodes.

Hmm... I bought XIII-2 on its release date and I haven't even finished it yet. I got bored midgame because (in my opinion) it was too easy. Guess I should finish it now then.

It's likely we won't see Versus 13 until FFXXVII is announced.

I've played both XIII and XIII-2, and part two definitely is better. XIII was good, in my opinion at least, but like everyone else, it was just too linear.

I might consider preordering this latest version.

Apparently the combat system in Lighting returns will be more action based and she will be the only character playable in the game.

I guess that makes up for playing as her only once in XIII-2.

The style of her outfit looks similar to the Dragoon woman from Versus XIII. All it's missing is a helm.

Only complaints I see in the trailer is... the bland cities, seemed rather soulless....what happened to that themepark city in the first XIII game?
Btw isn't the story focused on Lightning now? No body else is gonna be it.
I see alot of framerate drops too... even the graphics doesn't seem all that good compared to XIII-2....

This is just a peek at a project still in the Alpha stage. Once it gets to the Beta stage, that's when we can start getting an idea of how the final product will look.

Her new outfit is cool, but I have a feeling that it'll go through a few design tweaks.

I've just started XIII-2 and ... it doesn't look half bad so far. I think it's because of the introduction of Noel and my hard desire for him to steal Serah lol.

Just continue playing. When you get to the end, you're gonna want to punch Square Enix in their teeth.

I really don't think the series is bad if you play and think of it as more of a movie or even like the older nostalgia in your pants games people used to love so much. It has a lot of the classic feel to it that old rpg's have but so many people have given the series shit for being boring that they dont think of it like that. The game has great potential as a gem when looked back at i think. I like to watch old movies so too me its comparable to Bergman's stories like the seventh seal, wild strawberries, and through a glass darkly. There are underlying tones to something fantastic but with shoot em up games like CoD surpassing spec ops the line it really is something few would like.

I'm not there yet, though I did reach the end with the 3 dragon bosses that keep reviving whenever you kill them. So before defeating them I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to collect some more fragments.

Looking forward to this so much, especially playing as Lightning again. The Lightning DLC for XIII-2 was a bit... underwhelming to say the least. But I loved both XIII and XIII-2 (don't care about the haters), so I will get this as well. Currently still playing XIII-2 for achievements. Takes so long to get some though!

Finished XIII-2 just now. I liked the ending.

Which ending? There's at least three different ones to my knowledge.

Hmm, I guess it's the first one everyone encounters. I heard there's another one when you collect all the fragments but I'm not there yet.
