mass effect 3 please come out by next yearI would really like to believe that but sadly it'll probably be 2012 I bet.
I think its actaully planned 2012 and Bioware is pretty good at planning releases
Ya that's what i heard. I'd very much like Wrex back in my party if we're going to get a Krogan. Grunt isn't even worthy of polishing Wrex's Head Plate.
shush you, Grunt is awesome.
but alas, your not gonna get either of them back. actually, you wont get anyone back from the second game, cause they all potentially die. and bioware arnt gonna make a fully realized ally thats potentially dead before the game even starts. they will all be tossed on the back burner like wrex was in ME2.
WHERE THE FUCK DID YOU HERE THAT?
There's a reason you don't delete your ME 2 save. Not just because the game is awesome and you want to keep playing but also since ME 3 is going to look for ME 2 saves, to see who you killed and saved. I think the most popular theroy is that you are going to have your CHOICE between first and secound game characters. Not actually sure how they will do this but if they do pull that off OMG that would be awesome. Think of the combinations. Wrex and Grunt on one squat?! FUCK YEAH!
I say either do that or have the potential to have every character on the Normandy. Why not? This is Shepard's last adventure he'll need ALL the help he can get for sure.
The only thing I hope Bioware really considers changing is the squad size. I love most of the characters in the series and want to be able to use most of them so make the squads 4 or 5 including Shepard. This will also force the devs to open up the fire fighting so that it doesn't get to claustrophobic.

but just think about it. think of all the programming and voice overs they would be doing for a bunch of characters which may not even be alive when you start the game. its unreasonable to expect that. so either they will all end up having minor optional roles like wrex in ME2, or bioware will come up with a good reason for them to all be alive again. like idk, cerberus reincarnating all of them like they did with shepard. which is certainly possible, but not very logical if they want to keep with their own cannon that its a ridiculously expensive procedure and not worth wasting on just anybody.
i certainly wish that all (or at least most) of the characters could return to full squad member roles in the sequel. i just don't think they will, reasonably.
joker is the only character with a 100% chance of returning, since hes the only one that cant possibly die. Liara too, i hope.

just finished this game today.
ugh gathering element zero is a bitch
and also platinum. since its used more often.
oh i chose the Miranda route on my first go.
I really like this game. though i wish fish didnt die so fricking fast. The game is a fast go if you dont farm ALL the planets in EVERY system. missions are too short and theres not enough freedom to just go out and shoot things. Thank god for the fact that they actually talk. Since my TV is small its a bitch trying to read the words.

Although I haven't gotten my 360 fixed yet, there's always been one game I've always been thinking of getting it fixed for in the back of my head.
That's not the case anymore.

Has anyone gotten the Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC? I got it yesterday and it was fuckin' awesome. I stayed up till 2:30 in the morning playing through it to finish it and on the Hardcore difficulty too. I kept dieing over and over but it was worth it to get the "Hard Way" achievement for it. I don't want to spoil too much for those that haven't played it but you get Liara, temporarily, as a squad mate.

I figured I'd do a new playthrough for it.

I want to play it rather like a movie so maybe in one or two sittings if I can.
Mass Effect is like the only "hardcore" game I've ever played and it was AWESOME. (Except Final Fantasy but thats not that hardcore)

The BEST ME 2 DLC ever!!! I'll give it 5/5
There is much action all the time, so you're not getting bored with it. It was very epic and not as boring as Witch Hunt where they promised to answer questions but in the end all they did was adding much more then already, not to mention the bug ;-(
(Who played it knows what Im talking about)

I think I downloaded it, Overlord, the infinite points exploit/mining patch, T_T, and the various armor & weapons packs, (that I had missed over the summer because I have crappy dial-up at home but uber-fast internet in my dorm room), around 9p.m. I started on Overlord first. I beat that around 11 p.m. though I missed the Data Hound achievement.
Then I started on the Shadow Broker mission a little after that. Lets see about 3 and a half hours but that's only because I was trying to fly through it as fast as I could on Hardcore mode and not looking around for credits. Plus I was using a lv 30 Soldier class post-suicide mission with all powers fully evolved and Area Reave as the loyalty bonus power. However it was still really fun and really hard. I lost count of how many times I died. The final boss of the DLC was pretty damn tough though on Hardcore. I'd hate to see what its like on Insanity.
I've only played on Hardcore difficulty for one mission besides this one and that one was Tali's recruitment mission because if you play through it on Hardcore or higher difficulty you get a Geth Pulse Rifle. I'm probably going to have to start up a new game to get the fully integrated experience. For those that haven't played it yet I would definitely suggest waiting until post-suicide mission to do so. The ending to it is freaking awesome, and in my opinion at least, just as awesome as the ending to the suicide mission, if not better. Finish it and you'll see why.
In short, this DLC mission is something you'll wanna play in ONE sitting because of the sheer awesomeness.
edit: @Sanders: what bug are you talking about?

@Carlwash, Its pretty easy to get the achievements. Most of them you can get the first playthrough just by playing the game, particularly the loyalty achievements. The only ones I'm missing are Insanity and Data Hound.
Also talk about Halo: Reach here.

Final DLC for ME2 is set to "arrive" in about a week. It is ominously titled simply "Arrival" and is the final set up for Mass Effect 3. I will now start squeeling until the 29th when this DLC is released.

I hope it will be the last one this time for sure. What i hate about DLC content from BioWare is that recently it's just damn too short, I think i beat every possible DLC on dragon age origins and ME2 in like an hour each*except for DAA*. What happened to full size additions like *NWN Hordes of Underdark*? Bethesda on the other side *Oblivion to be precise* still has them long adventures to where you can even go back with *some* reason.

Mass Effect 2 DLC is more like cinematic experiences than expansion packs that affect the entire game. They aren't very long but they are action packed. The Shadow broker was only a hour and a half but it was an AMAZING hour and a half.
