Mass Effect 3

I got the Collector's edition pre-ordered & paid off. Plus I get all this awesome shit with it and it comes out the day after my birthday on spring break. So I know what I'm going to be doing.

I couldn't preorder the Collector's Edition off gamestop.... They said it was a no go...
I'll just pay the Extra Squadmate off launch (Seriously... EA why do this). I had to deal with the standard edition...

Oh, come on, they did the same 0-day DLC already with DA:O and The Stone Prisoner. Nothing new there.Shale was free if you bought the game new. The second dlc was superfluous nonsense. The "From Ashes" thing is pretty important, that is, if you actually paid attention to what was said in ME1&2. If there's enough of a shitstorm, they might actually do what they did with Origins.
Either way, I'll be getting this game used.

Ah, right... DA2 and Exiled Prince was the Signature Edition only DLC. I don't see it as that important, though - like Shale, this character seems more like a bonus character left behind from ancient times.
In any case, I'll have my CE, so no problem for me.

Oh god, I remember seeing his weapons being sold and yet there was no one in my team able to equip them. It's like the game was trolling people, pointing out that they bought an incomplete game.
It's a shame that in order to have the complete game at launch, one has to pay extra.

Well, you could have also used the weapons if your own character was an archer, but no other teammate cold do it. One of the few true weaknesses DA2 had.

One of the few true weaknesses DA2 had.Among many others, but that requires comparing it to Origins.
I've noticed a weird trend in Dragon Age and Mass Effect:
1st game is badass.
2nd game is dumbed-down to "expand the market." (More so in DA2; elaborated on in my review of DA2, if anyone cares to read 10 paragraphs.)
3rd game is like second, but due to fanboy outcry, it will incorporate elements from the 1st. This is evident in the ME3 demo. (e.g., similar but a bit more complex leveling system, and the return of weapon customization.) Concerning DA3, I read a while back that Bioware has moved on from Origins, but will try to appease its fans in some ways.

DA2 would probably have not so much criticism as a standalone game, but as a sequel to the quite different DA:O, the changes managed to piss off a lot of people. Didn't like the lack of overhead view was especially disappointing for me, as unlike probably most other players, I used it for the whole game myself.

Daaaaaaammmmmmmiiiiiiiitttttttttttttttt Bioooowwwaaaaarrrrrrreeeeee Insert Gluttony Fang theme here.
As much as I love them, that's rather tripping.
...Then again, I have the EU's super-pimped edition that includes said "launch DLC", so I might as well not care but for the sake of principle.
On other topics:
I'm more and more interested in what will happen to 2's crew in 3, given that total party size will be limited, and most will be returning from 1. I will be disappointed if Grandpa Zaeed and Miranda get sidelined.
Anyone played Infiltrator class yet? I haven't got the chance to test out the demo, so I'm wondering if it changed much since ME2 (Infiltrator being my default class for my main Shep since 1).

The demo is shit for an infiltrator. You get the equivalent of a semi-automatic rifle, so no surprise sniper buttsex. You're always able to buttsex them with a heavy melee, though.

Oh well, gotta deal with it then.
Speaking of melee, I heard it being different from class-to-class, with adepts and vanguards punching people with biotics (about time too), and infiltrators using electricity from some unlimited power.
Is it just an animation thing, or does it add anything to gameplay?

I wish they would have kept Kasumi on the team, though...

Krogan run around headbutting people, and their heavy melee involves them mad charging into the enemy. You run in a straight line so you can't exactly dodge, but it's almost a guaranteed one-hit.

Is it just an animation thing, or does it add anything to gameplay? It seems mostly an animation thing. In the engineer's case, the attack burns through armor; not sure if the same applies to the infiltrator when it comes to shields.
I played the demo again and I see that Bioware wasn't fucking around when they claimed that melee would play a larger role. Sometimes I would go one on one with a centurion asshole, turning the game into street fighter; Shepard no longer just plays whack-a-mole with the butt of his gun.
Having played as every class in the demo, my evaluation is as follows:
Soldier: Shit
Infiltrator: Win (needs more sniper rifle)
Vanguard: Fun
Sentinel: *Yawn*
Adept: Jedi Master
Engineer: Neither shit, nor great.

I'm trying to figure out which dlc to get. I've played shadow broker before on ps3 but now I got it on 360 so I don't know if I should. The arrival I'm iffy about because I've gotten mixed opinions about it.

Shadow Broker and Kasumi are excellent choices. Never played Overlord though.
Arrival is sort of...okay, I guess. It's not that really important.

Fuck you Game.co.uk.
[size=15]FUCK YOU, YOU BRITISH FUCKS. I HOPE A REAPER COMES DOWN ON YOUR ASS AND SKULL FUCKS YOU.[/h]
8 fucking days away from D-day and fucks withdraw all orders on ME3. Fuck. I can still get it in France, problem being it just might be in French, and I have no idea if I can change languages on that. Motherfuckers.
Should I still try it? Or does anyone know where I can still get preorders in European zone that are in English?

You too, huh? Well, the EA link they provided had three other options (5 now, I see). Being in France, you shouldn't have any problems with any of them, for me in Estonia the choice was a bit smaller, but still found one that delivers here as well.
