Overall best final fantasy

I had a poll between VII and X but after some valid replies i made a new one. Which of the almighty RPG series that is final fantasy did think stood above the rest?

The first FF game I played was FF9, so alas it is my favorite FF game.

FF4.'nuff said.

Final Fantasy VI, followed closely by IX. My third place vote goes to Final Fantasy. That's right, the first one. I could get a transcript of every bit of text in the game... that is a really deep story.

Someone voted for X-2 as the best Final Fantasy!? Madness... crazy George Washingtons...

I'm kind of perturbed by the fact that almost none of the early games were included, XI was excluded, and X-2 was included.

8 was the first FF I played. Got it on a whim for the PC. Wasn't really a gamer back then, but damn it...it hooked me. That opening really grabbed me by the balls and never let go XD.

It's VII hands down.

Love the characters, love the story, love the fact that I thought the graphics were the shit when it first came out. xD

I really liked X as well, although I know a lot of people hated it. (I actually loathed Yuna in that game and wanted to poke her little eyeballs out. Dx Maybe make some guro of her or something...lol )

But I did like that game a lot. :) So much fun. Auron was my favorite I think. Lulu came in a close second though. Yay for awesome old people!

IX is probably my third favorite out of those. I don't know why but I just really liked to play that one all the time. I wouldn't say the story was super amazing or anything, but it was fun to play.

VIII was weird...It was ok when it started out but when you got to the part where they were all in an orphanage together and stuff...wtf? And by saying that the Guardian Forces were the cause of their forgetfulness? Seemed like a rush in script or something to me. I never beat it either. Fucking Ultimacia kicked my ass every time I got to the last form. Dx Hate that bitch...

The results so far make me laugh.

The results are typical and piss me off to no end, as well as make me cry inside.

1-5 are non existant.

For real, I wanna post 4 as being the best :( I heard they remade that into 3-D on the DS but I can't picture all my 8 bit characters they way they are portrayed there. I always liked picturing what they looked like in my head y'know?

I just want to know why you didn't just list all of them?

I personally vote for IX.

I'm playing that right now as a matter of fact. I bought it because IV is my favorite as well. I have to say that the 3-D in game models are rather child-like, the drawings in the manual are superb. It's also awesome to see Cecil's Dark Knight get-up with modernized CG graphics. I almost don't want him to be a Paladin now :cry:

I don't think anyone who's first Final Fantasy game wasn't at the latest on the SNES should have the right to vote on which Final Fantasy is the best. To be more specific... if your first Final Fantasy was Final Fantasy VII you should just shut the fuck up. If I were to be really picky I'd even say if your first Final Fantasy wasn't Final Fantasy on the NES then you don't have a right either... but that's asking a bit much.

I've played every Final Fantasy ever made, my first being on the NES. I think I have more authority on which of the games is the best. Yea, I'm an elitist fucker.

I also feel the same about Zelda. If your first Zelda was in 3D... fuck you if you think any of those are better than Link to the Past.

If there was a poll between your favorite zeldas, I don't know if I could choose between link to the past or ocarina of time. only bad thing I have with ocarina of time are all the creepy deku kids with their overly-nice fairy friends.

My first FF was the first one. I think I played 1-4 and I didn't really get into 5 or 6. I hardly remember 2-4 though. I re-played 1 on the gameboy when it came out. Tough game, was kind of boring too because there wasn't really a story. xD (I know one of those is a remake of one of the others. Like 3 is the same as 6 I think?)

Then I played 7 when my brother got it and I don't know, it's just always been my favorite. But 10 comes in a very close second to that. xD I won't play any more FF games after 10-2 though because I loathed 12...

Same with the Zelda games. I was probably like 5 when I first played the original Zelda game with my brother and my mom. I don't think I ever played the second one though.

Definitely loved A Link to the Past when it came out. I used to watch my mom and dad play that game and me and my brother would takes turns playing it all the time. I don't really have a favorite Zelda game though. I kind of like all of them about the same. I actually want to write a Zelda fic with some original characters in it. (Link's Awakening was fun too, good for road trips! xD )

If I could pick a favorite SNES game though it would have to be Secret of Mana, I played that game and over and over with my younger brother. I'm still waiting for them to come out with it on the Wii so I can play it again because I am too lazy to whip out the old SNES that's practically falling apart. Dx

I was incapable to play all the FF since I was born in 87' I have played 4 though 12, excluding FF11. And I hated 12 too, never liked the battle system they put in it.
