Pokemon X & Y

On a live Nintendo Direct, a new Pokemon game was announced starting the 6th generation.

It will be released on the 3DS, will have full 3D.

Estimated release date is October of 2013.

I was going to make this thread but decided not to, I am quite excited for this and October is around my birthday! :D

Ah, completely forgot they were going to do this today... Well, a new generation was to be expected, the 3DS had been too long without its own generation of Pokémon games. Looking forward to playing this, then. ^_^

I stop caring about the pokemon RPGs, but this game does look promising, and the starters don't look half bad.

The Y legendary looks ridiculous, though... But I guess I'll give it a chance. I hope there won't be too many new species added, there are way too many already.

Awesome video. The game looks pretty awesome and a hugely new experience in Pokémon. But I'm probably never going to get a 3DS...

Looks like I need to hurry up and beat Black 1 and 2 now.

Did they show any pictures of the (new) pokemon? Hopefully they don't loo ridiculous.

Yes, the 3 new starters were shown, along with two legendary Pokemon, who I assume will be on the cover.

I've been absent from the pokemon world since the DS era (4th Gen? I've never finished Diamond and Pearl), Looks like it's a good start to come back...Now I just need to find the cash... lol

I bought a 3DS earlier last year for Fire Emblem Awakening and Project X Zone, thank God I got one ahead of time. These games look amazing, and the fact that they're releasing worldwide is pretty awesome too.

it is the first world release

I'm kind of excited for this. In my personal opinion, I felt like Black and White 2 was complete shit (Besides the new movesets, and battle system. I love competitive battling).

But, I'm liking the "breath of fresh air" that Pokemon has recieved. The entire game has moved up to 3D models and I couldn't be happier.

Let's just hope it lives up to the hype.

If not, I could always just battle online with 3D rendered Pokemon.
That already sounds fun.

Not a fan of this new generation since the last 4-5 Pokemon games are so foreign to me. But, for some reason, my heart skipped a few beats when listening to that beautiful nostalgic orchestra of those Pokemon pieces. Pretty impressive.

I gotta say ... the 3d graphics and settings do look promising, and also the battle system does look really cool, something I imagined a while back.

The new starters do look cool, especially the grass and fire starter which in my opinion look reallys cool. ( Not a fan of water starters, but Froakie does look neat )

Let's hope it provides many fans around the world with some fresh new air. I am definitely happy with the fact that the characters look really awesome with the 3d elements, but one question, do you guys believe we'll be able to customize our character?

Highly unlikely, I'd say, beyond the usual choice of gender and name. But I guess we'll find out more in the coming months.
