I'm gonna take up the wonderful offer that if you trade in your PSP when you buy the Vita, you get it for $60 less on gamestop.

The PSP has some good games yes, but they dont games for that platform anymore so I would save for the Vita. Im getting it because Disgaea 3 is being ported to it.

So yeah, apparently the Vita has tons of issues...
Let's hope that they are all sorted out by the American release.

I dun think PS vita can play PSP games.. rite?No because they two different game cartridges.. the japanese sony has a thing called umd passport which you can get a digital down for the game if it already psn downloadable.. once the vita get cfw then your iso/cso of the games should be ok..
http://psp.dashhacks.com/2011/11/13/umds-vita
Psp uses umd's, vita uses something like a sd card called NVG or just pvc aka playstation vita card..
Which brings up a point.. if the game has to be on the vita card to load.. can we actually port games into it since the vita card is fucking expensive a hell?

Well I certainly plan on getting the Vita especially. Like that they will have a Persona 4 version coming out so I don't just have to replay it on the PS2 :).

If you are getting the vita past February I'm sure most of the software bugs will be fixed.

For now, since the Vita wont be recieving a US and EUR release till next year (sometime around March), you "can" get a PSP. Plus, the PSP wont die out the moment the Vita is released, it'll still be getting games released on it for a good while before Sony decides they dont need the PSP anymore (the PS2 still had a ton of games released on it even after the PS3's releasal for awhile).
There will still be good to great games being released for the PSP next year.

I plan on getting the Vita, but not when it releases. That way I can wait for more games to be release, Also anyone know about the 3g plan thing for the vita? Is it gonna be a contract thing or a monthly thing?

I highly suggest you don't get either. Here are the reasons:
PSP:
It's no soubt it's time will soon come for it to pass away, like the ps2 did, thanks to the Vita coming just around the corner...
if you want to play PSP games, just emulate it; be warned that the PSP emulator will need some good parts for it to run properly...
Your only excuse to get the PSP is to play games that allow you to play with/against your friends; MH3 is a good one, if not Tekken or Blazblue.
Vita:
Now this is just my personal opinion... But seeing as the Vita is still very new, I doubt the Vita is in it's complete stages; I feel like there'll be bugs and such...
Another reason would be the fact that the Vita's selection of games is still few (A nice selection though [UMvC3, Uncharted3)
Now I'm not really telling you to NOT buy the console; rather, wait till it flourishes. Let others buy it first for you to know how it goes. And while you wait, other people might "Crack the code" and distribute "CFW". (I believe this is illegal in some countries, so don't take my word for it)
Another reason is to let the console drop its price. wait for a year and that price'll drop like a rock. :D

Amen to that. I guess they released it in Japan first to check for bugs and other problems in the PSV. I just hope they don't decide to phase out the PSP.
P.S. How long would you bet till the Vita is hacked?

Sadly, it's technology's fact that devices overtime will eventually fade into history; the PSP is no exception and will undoubtedly be joining other consoles like the PS1 and Gameboy.
As for the duration for it to be hacked, I can't really say for sure, but I'm guessing the geniuses can do it in about 6-9 months for a good and stable CFW... Then again, it's possible that a CFW for the VITA will not exist, seeing as the 3.55 CFW was the only version of the PS3 to be currently released today; to think that the latest version is now 4.00 (Or was it 4.10? Meh, forgot)
