PSP or PS Vita

Also their going to be over 20 games release on the psp in the next 1 to 2 years.. all games are jp until later anyways.. 90% of sony's games are release in japan before ported into us and euro markets.

Plus all psp game are copatible to the vita via dl and umd transfers.. i have all three versions of blaze blue on my vita... plus BBCS 2 extend

talking about jp game.. a mass selection of anime games in the psp is probably the reason y im getting it.. but I been checking out youtube for a few suggestion on top 10 games.. but other than dissdia most of the game is like star wars and god of war.. wat happen games like "miku diva extend", "queens gate" or even corpse party... or r they just not so fun?

Most of those YT vids probably only show games that're more hyped here in the U.S. than anywhere else. That's why God of War is even in such a list (not gonna lie though, GoW is really good).

You should probably just try looking elsewhere if you want better recommendations for anime/JPN released titles though. You have to remember that most of the games that're in japan dont see a stateside release and vice versa (sometimes).

Also, if you want to keep up to date with the latest info for PSP and Vita, I'd highly recommend pspgweber.com and psp-hacks.com. There are a few others but those two are the sites I frequent the most for info on the consoles and game releasals and etc.

Its really a question of whether you're willing to compromise on price, and if so, IF the titles available on launch are worth your money

yeah I work @ gamestop partime and I can for sure tell you that their are not any if only a handful of games coming out for psp in the us next year a lot of the final releases that were planned for psp are being moved to the vita platform like monster hunter portable 3rd, if their are still many games coming out for the psp in japan they may not come to the us for psp at all or just be moved to the vita. I can't speak for sony and their plans for the psp in Japan but it was for the most part a flop in the US sony wants you to buy the new device (Vita) they haven't been supporting the psp very much and I suspect that little support the psp gets will end soon after the vita drops.

kinda a stupid question but hell going 2 ask u anyway.. than will the psp price drop even further than it is now..? We wont be seeing the PS vita going 2 be hack anytime soon rite?

as far as price drops go it just did one right before the holidays so honestly doubt if sony will do another one anytime soon, I'm not saying it can't happen just very doubtful of it. As far as hacking goes I have no idea it depends on the people who do that kind of stuff but sony has been cracking down hardcore on that kind of stuff even as far as having individuals arrested and tried in court...

There is already a lot of good psp games available and will come in 2012 before the PSP is dead...

The PSP still has a lot of potential if only publishers would localize a ton of good Japanese titles but sadly they don't and there is a lot of good games for the PSP that never make it to the US especially good JRPGs and certain visual novels T___T

yup... agree with u.. really dissapointed on this... there r so many good VN and JRPG.. sadly the US didint aprove of it making us anime fan suffer.. T.T

the thing about it is there are some good jrpgs that get localized i.e. the new Fate game, persona series. the thing is they don't sell very well here in the US, the only jrpg that I've personally seen sell out very quickly are most of the final fantasy games and kingdom hearts and god eater game didn't do to bad either.

Their patches made for cfw hacked games, ported vn's and homebrew games. It's even possible to use atgh/atlas type eboots and maybe semihack for normal use. Or just learn niponese.

HAs prices go.. 99$for a psp-3005 to new, 89 for 3000 used, 79 2000series, 59 1000 series, psp go's.. not worth, my phone is psp compatible.. free. Ebay you can find new ones from 20 to 70 dollars. and the jcpsp is always free if you have a dual core to quadcore cpu... soem games needs to be cwcheated or modded because of weird copyright codes and such.

well.. for me wat important is hoping there r alot of VN and JRPG.. becos I seen alot of famous title like assasin creed... but they dun really impress me.. so this is wat im hoping for..

only 3 of those games from the upcoming 35 list are coming to the US and 2 of the three are coming to the EU...outside of japan psp is dead end of story.

The fact of the matter is that the PSP will still have games released on it. I've been importing (and downloading) more games from japan than in the U.S. simply because most of the games we have here for PSP arent that great. The PSP aint dead, and it wont die out for a good while. It wont be #1 once the Vita is here (trust me I'll be getting a Vita lol). But it wont die out on day, or the first few months for that matter.

well kenayagami at this point my advice to you based on the original question you asked when you created this thread is to wait for vita to come out unless you can do the following:

-read japanese
-know how to modifiy a psp's firmware
-know how to install games using a homebrew service

if you can do any of those things listed above then go ahead and get a psp otherwise i fell as though at this point in time that it would be a waste of money.

I already informed Kenayagami that if he still decides to get a PSP, I'd be more than willing to help him mod it. So if he does get one, he's not at a loss there. I would just recommend getting AT LEAST a 4gb memory stick if he does get one.

But we all know people won't use it for a single purpose
