Tales of Vesperia

Tales of Vesperia (テイルズ オブ ヴェスペリア, Teiruzu obu Vesuperia?) is the tenth mothership title in the Tales series. It was announced on December 22, 2007 at Jump Festa. The game's first trailer confirmed that the character designer is Kōsuke Fujishima, the chief director and producer is Yoshito Higuchi (who previously worked on both Tales of Symphonia and Tales of the Abyss), the game is being developed by Namco Tales Studio and its animated movies will be done by Production I.G.[3] It has been confirmed on GameSpot that Vesperia will be exclusively for the Xbox 360.[4] Bonnie Pink will sing the main theme for both the Japanese and North American release[5]. Tales of Vesperia's characteristic genre is 'To Enforce One's "Justice" RPG' (「正義」を貫き通すRPG, "Seigi" wo Tsuranukitoosu RPG?) The game is set for a release on August 7, 2008 in Japan, August 26, 2008 in North America, summer 2008 in Asia, and 2009 in Europe.

So what are your thoughts about this game?

I like how nice the visuals look this time around, and that the typical one-motion talking isn't used(like in Tales of Symphonia). I'll probably get it, as I'm a hardcore fan of the "Tales Of" series.

Damn, it's for the XBOX 360, but still, I'm looking forward to it. Because I have not buy PS3, XBOX 360, Wii, still can't decide which to buy, with all my most wanted games scattered between the consoles.
PS3 = Mostly the RPG games
XBOX 360 = Ace Combat 6
Wii= some anime based games.

Although the chara designer is the same, but I think Tales of the abyss is better, and Vesperia's new heroine is the cute type not the sexy type (Tear) :lol: .

I wouldn't get the Wii first. Choose between the 360 or PS3.

I hope this Tales game ports to something else, but if not, guess I'll just have to not play it :s. Unless one of my fakku brothers or sisters wants to give me their 360

series as well and I can't wait until Vesperia comes out :D

Played the demo. This is not the kind of game I would buy. I'm into anime as much as the next guy but when it comse to JRPGs... we'll recent JRPGs are horrible this is not an exception... the thing about JRPGs is that they always try to rip off each other and always come out as bad as possible... JRPs are always badly written and if you dare play it in English the voice acting is horrible. The thing is all JRPGs think "hey lets be like Final Fantasy." They always end up using stock characters as the main characters and you don't seem to be contributing anything to the story; all you do is move your players from one heavy dialog cutscene to the next. The not-so-ramdom encouters can get pretty annoying and you almost always end up grinding from half of the gameplay hours.
That aside the the combat is probably the best thing aout the game its pretty smoth and not too hard, though your teammates end up doing most of the work anyway.
But if you're into that soft of thing go ahead. Sorry for the wall of text.

It doesn't sound like you dislike this game so much as you dislike JRPGs in general.

Personally, I think that Judith DID get everything Sheena lost. :)
And Pieman, I actually kind of agree with your wall of text, because JRPG's are becoming steadily cliched, but I think the Tales series has the combat system going for it, and the anime-ish feel.

By the way, are there any pre-order bonuses with this game like TotA?

I would play as him. No question if he went Kenpachi.
But I think he'll be the Lloyd type character of Vesperia, the one that uses attacks such as Beast and all. But maybe I'm wrong, and he'll go Zelos on us.

Aye, I'm already suspecting that he'd be the "Magic Knight" of the group...
