Well...You mean Japanese RPG? Then my favorite is Final Fantasy 7. Man, it was AWESOME! And FF8 was not bad too.

I wish I could show you Star Ocean 2, leroy. It completely blows SO3 out of the water, despite being an early-generation PS1 game.

Lufia 2(never quite finished due to a crappy rom)
Xenosaga 1 and 2 (xenogears started great but fell apart on the 2nd disc because it was too rushed, xenosaga 3 was just too rushed all the way through)

Ahh yes, Dark Cloud 1 and 2 were great as well, wasn't really thinking of them as RPGs, I guess I should include those.
Also, Koudelka was really good, I've gotten Shadow Hearts 2 and 3 but haven't played them yet. I couldn't find Shadow Hearts 1, will I be lost when playing 2?

Nah, you won't be lost. If I remember correctly, they'll give you details as to what happened in the first game through out the second game.
I was only able to get the first game because I pre-ordered the second game when it came out. 2 games for the price of one! I really wish other companies did that.

<-- Also forgot about Dark Cloud 2. DC 1 wasn't all that great in my opinion. Sure it was really original in a bunch of great ways, but I hated how your weapons couldn't be fixed if they broke. I broke weapons all the time in that game, and I'm really glad they fixed that little screwup in DC 2. Steve was a lot cooler as a slingshot than as a Ridepod, though.

Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter was pretty darn good too, if also pretty freakin' hard to beat.
.hack//GU was also a really good trilogy, if not up to the same standards as Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy.

Unfortunatley I think I'm outta luck with Digital Devil Saga 2. I got it for $20 new, but haven't been able to find the 1st one(which is really expensive online).

Koudelka was really good, I had never heard of it when I stumbled across it in a used game store for like $12. If you can find it for cheap, I would definitely suggest it. It's got grid based combat and each character can be built up to use any weapon. There's also a little customization with building up, all things that score big for me at least. Man I really need to replay that game at some point.
Although not that important, the cut scenes in Koudelka were damn good for a PS1 game. Maybe not as good some other titles like FF8, but still very nice.

I like a lot of RPGs but these were the only ones that i played more than 2 full playthroughs and really liked the battle systems they used.

Yeah, Dark Cloud 1 wasn't RPG, but #2 was I believe. =x

Suikoden games series (not 4) 114 stars of destiny ftw.
FFX (is my fav from FF games).
Morrowind: The Eldar scrolls III(more hours spent playing this than any other rpg ever).
Im gonna add my worst ever rpg too.
Its 'Unlimited Saga' on PS2 this game just baffled me, couldnt get my head around it at all.

Haha, yeah, I got Unlimited Saga for free. I tried playing it a bit but didn't really know what I was doing so i never really got into it. I've watched a few videos of it online and it looks like it can get pretty good as you figure out what the hell you're doing, but haven't played that far to confirm it(just too many other games to play).
