The Best Rpg Game you've Played

I have to go with Grandia. It was just so innovative in so many ways, and didn't suffer from alot of the problems you usually see in RPGs.

FFVII is a close second. There is so much to do in that game, and even though it never had the strategic depth of Grandia, combat was always exciting.

Grandia II is good too. They refined the mechanics, but the story was a bit weak at points.

I bought it one day and I returned it the next because it was so bad. As for my favorites:

That's like a compiled list of everyone elses. I see you like Rogue Galaxy! That game was awesome and it had a pretty good story line.

Hey i was thinking of playing Persona 3 but would i have to play any of the previous persona games to play Persona 3?

@ oldmayleroy: You don't need to play previous Persona games to enjoy Persona 3, though I haven't played it myself.

Edit: Since when was ZoE an RPG?! It's more like a flying version of Virtual-On. ... Oh wait, that's right. The GBA ZoE was an RPG ...

It have nice music, only because of the gba sound capability make it not perfect. then the style of the chaptering put here and the story and character kinda like anime'ish' like a normal 24/25 episodes anime. I know the graphic was not so good, but still one of the best s-rpg rpg that i've played other than ffta. The advance war 2 was kinda boring especially the story

Grandia/FF7 are my favs :D

Chrono Trigger
Ogre Battle 64
Odin Sphere (man, Oswald's awesome)
Persona 3 (I cried with the end)
Riviera
Yggdra Union (ridiculously hard but had a great history)

Also, the Super Robot Taisen games are quite awesome
SRWOG - good old GBA, I found out about some SD robot looking games, I got curious and decided to give it a try. I enjoyed it greatly.
SRWOG2 - I was starting to fully appreciate all the elements of the game.
SRW@ - I shat bricks with this one, the CG videos were amazing lol, also, it had all the super robot series I grew up with and even more than I could imagine together.
SRW@G - The story of the Alphaverse kept getting more and more interesting...
SRW@2 - for the PS2, I thought that will all the series and awesome graphic sequences it included this couldn't get moar awesome

but I was wrong...

SRW@3 - my most favorite RPG ever due to its epicness. Period. I laughed. I cried. I shed manly tears. The animation sequences blew me off. This game ended an epic adventure.

SRWOG'S - the remake of the GBA games, they are quite good and the animations keep getting better but nothing else.
SRWOGG - meh, short and pathetically easy, expecting an OG3.

Xenogears is the greatest by far. The Xenosaga trilogy was a disgrace upon the franchise.
