"Stands for "Boku ga Saki ni Suki datta noni," or "but I liked them first." The main character has their (typically one-sided) crush stolen by someone else. The difference between this and NTR (see definitions below) is that there's no relationship between the MC and the "partner" prior to being "stolen," and the focus is on regret for not acting sooner. If you've ever thought a chapter on here should be tagged NTR but isn't, it's probably BSS."
-(Basically BSS stories are about a wimpy/cuck MC that never makes a move or let his crush know how he feels and in the end his crush picks / gets stolen by someone else and the MC only has himself to blame since he never made a move on her. Mostly osananajimi stories.)

Well that's definitely a very specific, unique sub-ntr tag.

I think this tag just creates more confusion.
I for one, was bamboozled. The cover already gave all sorts of red flags but I didn't see Netorare tag so I figured I'd read it.
At the end of the day it's just a sub-genre of Netorare and the difference is so negligible I don't see the point of this tag.
I will be curious how many people will be reading NTR, since they don't know what this tag means :D

It's relatively common, but a lot of people don't know the difference between NTR and BSS. As an example, in the few hours this chapter has been up, a handful of users suggested the Netorare tag. Since we have stricter requirements for NTR than some other places, this new addition covers a different subgenre that wasn't defined on the site before.

pretty sure they won't change past chapters. all the crap that has been labelled "vanilla" in the past 2 years or so still got the tag on it.

also, bss is pretty common nowadays. they'd probably have to retag half of the so-called "ntr" chapters and tag many that luckily didn't get a fake ntr tag.

I can kind of agree with this "BSS" tag, but this chapter, in particular, definitely gives more NTR vibes than anything. At the end of the day, it's probably splitting hairs because the overall effect is the same (i.e. watching your love interest get fucked by another person).

Don't know about that. NTR has an aspect of betrayal since it is someone the main character has an established relationship with.
BSS doesn't really have that element, I might feel a bit of pity for the main character, but if he reacts like he has been betrayed I would only feel disgust towards him Â¯\_(ãƒ„)_/Â¯

This was a pretty rough debut and I hope this author improves moving forward. The key problem is that this story had 34 pages and no real setup. We don't see the childhood friends interact together in a setting without the junior's dick present. You have to establish that relationship to make it clear the MC missed his shot. The way this story works is more like learning your crush has been a secret slut for a long time.

My research for this author has only pulled up CG sets as prior works. That makes a whole lot of sense because CG sets are assumed to not have any buildup beyond the premise narrated to you.
