The first time I read this chapter, I assumed a bit of Yandere was involved, and that the lamppost on page 5 was actually her watching his reactions from behind because she has that strand of hair that sticks out in the same way on the right side of her head.

But instead, it just seems like they were just meant to be without either side intending on the action to be taken.
