Well, I can at least give props to the guy for not wanting to do it at first, even to the point of lecturing the guy to take better care of his girlfriend.

I think the point / motivation for creating NTR is to evoke feelings of unease in the reader. I think in this particular case, the first part was to set up the reader to believe that the cuckolding was okay. The 180 by the MC and the suggestive interaction at the very end are the real punches.

That's not correct. getting cheated on and liking it is called "netorase" a good example would be Netoraserare by Shikishiro Konomi. Netorare is seeing/knowing your beloved one is being fucked by another guy and regardless of liking it or not having sexual arousal. In some hentai works with netorare the guy finds out and start to enjoying it and allows his beloved to cheat and in others just ends as with some poor guy crying with cum in his pants

Hmm, I guess? I have read famous hentai mangas classified as NTR and very few (if not none) of the mc's in there "like" their girl getting fucked by others. The guy's liking it or not is an undeciding factor imo.
