Yeah, poor guy was getting completely left out all that time. Gotta sting a little. I liked the way he was written, first shocked with his friends and disillusioned with a girl he loved, eventually coming to grips with how things really were and ready and raring to make up for lost time going forward.

I agree with every single comment you made below. Are you familiar with the works of Ozaki Akira? His art style isn't to everyone's taste (I like it with some quibbles) but his stories are loaded with cheating (Announcer/Mayor Yuriko especially) all done in such a cheerful and absurdly goofy style that it's all just good naughty fun. It's something I could see you appreciating if you aren't already familiar.
