Yes I don't think this is a very happy story. She was going to go to an "impressive" university, and somehow ended up working at a soapland -- what happened to her?

And it's not really a true reunion -- she never calls him by his actual name, or actually acknowledges their history. It just feels like a quick glimpse into what could've been between them, but is no longer possible -- very bittersweet at best.

Nah, I won't accept this as vanilla until she gives him a proper answer. This ending felt pretty bittersweet with her not really acknowledging him while clearly being the same girl. Also, it's not exactly the "dream reunion" when you meet your highschool crush in the sex industry. We need that sequel!

Yeah, some titles, especially Gar titles, get this vanilla nod but a reader can end up with that non-committal feel from one of the couple - a feeling where they can easily be found with somebody else a day or two later.
