May as well have just straight up asked her to marry you and run the place together. I suppose he technically implied that when he said 'stay here forever'? But her reply of telling him to just knock her up is...Certainly an interesting one. That is one way to keep her there, definitely. And hey, if he manages to get her pregnant, he gets her to stay there with him as his wife, so clearly accepting her proposal is the only logical thing to do.
Alas, she still left in the end, but hey...If it takes and she ends up getting pregnant, perhaps she'll return. Either that, or she might come back next summer vacation for another shot?
