I personally would recommend Fate Stay Night, Saya no Uta, Utawarerumono, Koihime Musou, Tsukihime, Sengoku Rance and G Senjou Majou.
Or you could check here to see the ones with the highest rating.
If you liked G-senjou no Maou you're also gonna like Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo and the fan disk Sharin no Kuni, Yuukyuu no Shounenshoujo.
Other good visual novels are higurashi (sound novel), ef - a fairy tale of the two, Remember 11: The Age of Infinity and even more.
