(This is a Joint post starring: Cinia Pacifica and Bagman.)
Owain prowled through the camp in search of likely prey. He had done this earlier and managed to catch a glimpse of some female warriors changing, and such caused his wonderful mood.
Louise gazed longingly - her emerald pupils reflected the glowing stars as they were fixated towards the starry sky - stargazing. Standing before a half-frozen lake that she stumbled across after walking aimlessly throughout the camp - she finally found herself coming to a cessation as she faced the admirable night sky. The view was admittedly beautiful, even according to her own standards. It was astounding. She couldn’t fall asleep tonight, she was in a mood to walk off listlessly instead, which she ended up doing. Sleeping in her tent would have been a waste now that she thought back about the moment she exited the dark tent - the bright stars deserved her full attention at the moment. To simply sleep now would be such a waste for the view… I may as well stay up a while longer.
Spying the lone girl, Owain approached. “Sure is a clear sky tonight” he commented, “any reason a girl like yourself is still up?”
“For the gently glowing stars, of course,” Louise answered, turning towards the knight who approached her; strolling specifically to her. She could tell someone was advancing in her direction due to the faint clanky noises, but didn’t think the person would try to actually converse with her. “Patrolling, I take it?” Louise asked, shoving her pointless analytical thoughts aside for now.
Owain glanced sideways, guiltily, “urm… something like that” he said sheepishly, “Sir Owain Glyn, at your service” bowing.
Louise grinned, making it apparent that her eyes picked up a sign from his expressions. “Sir Owain, why not come clear and say that you wished to approach a pretty lady like me instead of fulfilling duty?” Louise asked with a gleeful face. “I do believe honesty is a fine trait for men, you know?”
Owain laughed, “caught red handed, huh?” he observed jokingly, “It’s true, I was drawn in by your beauty, but I am yet to hear your name.”
Louise resumed stargazing - looking back to the bright night sky. “Louise Marguerite of the Augusta house. The High Priestess, I doubt my name is unheard of, especially recently.”
“Must be my lucky day” Owain grinned, “meeting the High Priestess, it’s an honour m’lady”
“Haha, it’s been some time since someone took it as their lucky day by meeting me,” Louise stated, earnestly. She had been the topic of others’ conversations as someone who appeared out of the blue to take up the position of the high priestess. However, Louise was rather glad - this way, she’d not have to deal with the general public often.
“I don’t see how meeting someone as good looking as you could be considered anything but” Owain smiled.
Louise shrugged. “I suppose taking up this position caused quite a stir among the general public - a typical aftermath I suppose. I am viewed as nothing but a sign of bad omen. People loves to gossip, after all,” Louise replied, holding a light smile over her face. “Maybe they’d sing praises to me after meeting me in person at least once,” Louise smirked, confident in her own beauty. There was no way men would talk bad about her after catching a glimpse. However, women may easily become jealous… Louise decided against pondering further about this aspect of female psychology.
“I’ve never cared much for politics” Owain said, “it’s often just a bunch of people I’ll never meet, debating things that don’t matter. I care for gossip even less, baseless rumour mostly”
“I suppose so,” Louise said as she faced the knight yet again. “However, you have made an error in that line. You have just met a person who debates about such things in the background - albeit I don’t assume the topics pointless unlike you. Politics is somewhat important for me after all - to bound my ties to important people. Otherwise, I wouldn’t bother.”
“I suppose I have” he laughed again, “I understand that politics is important but, as a knight my duty is to protect, politics doesn’t change that, so I guess, for me politics carries no weight”
“Oh? Even though it’s due to politics that dictates your missions - the life-threatening work you have to deal with?” Louise asked, but didn’t reveal a questioning expression. Heh, you contradict yourself, Sir Knight. You say that politics is important, but you’ve implied earlier that the debates are pointless.
“Even then what I do is in keeping of the kingdom, it doesn’t matter whose orders I’m taking, my role doesn’t change” Owain said.
“How very reliable of you,” Louise praised half-heartedly, smiling, “to be blindly working for the top brass,” Louise added, sarcastically.
“I wouldn’t call it blindly following orders, but I have a role to play” Owain said, “as do you m’lady, only yours is far more important”
“I feel as though the position has been sullied by time, over the years,” Louise nonchalantly replied. With all the changes she found in belief and system, it was as if she was having a culture shock. For things to change this much - was within expectations - but she found herself unprepared to tread that path immediately. “I’m not a fan of the current figure who leads the people, either. Makes me think what the world is coming to… ”
“What can you do, eh?” he asked rhetorically, “time moves so quickly it’s hard to keep up and who commands the power changes with it, although honestly I have no real opinion of those in power.”
“Not so hard to develop one if you get to know, I suppose that’s the hard part for most,” Louise responded, looking down at Owain. I suppose it’s the reason why this is pitiful. He doesn’t have a clue that the princess is incompetent. I can’t quite judge Arkasia yet, but she is rather… impatient and awkwardly straightforward, Louise thought to herself. “Pray tell, who do you serve under at the moment, Sir Owain?”
“Sir Arkasia” he replied “I’m a knight banneret of Arkasia”
“Ah, the impatient one,” Louise again, nonchalantly responded. She somehow had an inkling that Owain worked under her, she could feel a spec of her presence in him - instilled. However, she felt as though she made an unnecessary comment about Arkasia. Shrugging internally, she felt that it may have been better to simply let it out. Not that it’d actually hurt to be honest for once. She did somewhat prefer honesty, after all. This was the reason why she occasionally spoke the truth at times, and hid the truth the other times.
“Pffft” Owain couldn’t restrain a laugh, “She certainly is impatient, but she’s definitely the best general an army could hope to have, for one, she’s crazy strong, I’ve never once come close to beating her in training”
“I feel like she simply needs to relax more often. Right now, she bears an air similar to the young Queen,” Louise said, not quite sure what to really think of her. With the way she drew a blade right up to her neck; it did nothing but leave a bad impression. Nothing more, nothing less.
“I wish everyone would relax more often, everyone is so worked up at the moment and honestly I don’t think that’s a good thing” said Owain, “I’m not an overly serious person, so the heavy atmosphere makes me uncomfortable, y’know?”
“Haha, you’re truly unique when I compare you to the average men I met before,” complimenting, Louise laughed. War is serious business. It felt as though meeting a random clueless civilian who accidentally stumbled into the den of soldiers. “However, without said atmosphere, you can’t possibly expect the morale of the army to be high.”
“I dunno, but to me it feels like a funeral march” Owain half-joked.
“You do know that you can’t go on that way, right?” Louise resumed stargazing as she asked with a smile.
”Eh?”
Louise held the same expression as her gaze was fixated to the sky abound with stars. “If you go on - with that mindset - you’ll die, Sir Owain.”
“Everyone dies” Owain laughed, “that mindset is me, and frankly, I’d like to die as myself”
“Sounds pointless, especially because most with such manner of thinking usually dies before accomplishing... well, anything,” Louise chuckled, not too serious about the conversation. She did, however, thought that he’d meet his demise if he kept on with that kind of thinking. If one wanted to live, or avoided death - they may live longer and accomplish greater objectives due to strength derived from sheer will. However, she couldn’t truly judge a man who was not a fan of war. He was far too laid-back, to the point that it’d become an issue. On the contrary, Louise only discouraged the death of others only because she was currently the High Priestess. It was her job to encourage the army to fight with the will to witness the next day. “There is but one man, who is yet to die. I’d love to believe that everyone dies. However, that is quite not the case in this world.”
“My life isn’t top on my list of priorities if I’m bluntly honest” Owain smiled “and men are all the same at the end of the day, everyone dies, no exceptions”
“Mn, we wish,” Louse gave a nod. “Perhaps,” Louise begun, “we’ll have to wait and find out. This topic aside, what have you been tasked with - in the operation at hand?”
“I’m to capture one of the bridges according to the plan” Owain said sighing, “something feels awfully off, but I can’t put my finger on it”
“One of the bridges… I see. I shall keep a keen look-out. For my personal amusement, mind you,” Louise giggled with glee in jest. “Oh, odd you say?”
Owain laughed with Louise, “it would be good if you could remember my face, after all, I’ll need someone to identify my corpse” he joked, “and yeah… I feel like I’m missing something that someone isn’t telling me and it’s disconcerting”
“I’ve been rather forgetful recently; perhaps you should ask your crush for that particularly boring task,” Louise smirked as she replied to the joke. “Missing something, eh?”
“Crush? What do you take me for, a child?” Owain said his face trying to look serious but hints of a smile formed around his face.
“Anyone who is this steadfast to die may as well be a little childish, it’s their hidden perk,” Louise winked, smiling.
“I’m not going to die so easily, I’m actually really strong you know?” Owain said flexing in jest.
“I do feel… a very cold energy energy emanating. A watery spirit? I suppose that’s reliable,” Louise assessed, then added, “just the spirit, of course,” Louise laughed again.
“Hah, you’ll see” Owain laughed, “On a good day, I’m stronger than Arkasia”
“I highly doubt that. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt, however,” Louise smiled, it was however accompanied with her commonly seen shrug this time. “Ah, it is almost time… ”
“I guess I’ll be seeing you then” Owain said, “Or… maybe not, either way, good luck”
“Ah, no, it’s a shooting star,” Louise pointed to the sky expressionlessly as she replied.
“Oh! Wow!” Owain said in awe, “I’ve never seen one before”
“Perhaps it is a sign of good omen, for now. For me, it is a sign for something completely different.”
“You’re supposed to make a wish when you see one right?” Owain asked
“Haha, is that a superstition made by plebeians?” Louise asked. Slightly amused despite knowing the answer. “It’s a sign from the heavens that I should sing. Of course, the choice lies in me, ultimately. I suppose it’s what I’m supposed to do - to derive good luck for us all. Luck is apparently associated with shooting stars, perhaps that’s why people came up with sayings such as that.”
“Well I made my wish anyway” he smiled, “you’re going to sing?”
“The head priestess asked me to do so whenever such good omen would present itself at times of leisure, you see. I’d rather laze around, personally. Feel free to stick around, I’d be taking my leave soon after.”
“I should head back soon, my group might start getting worried without their super reliable Captain around” Owain said, the corner of his mouth turning up into a smile.
As a response, Louise gave an enchanting smile as her lips stretched - not speaking any further, nor giving a nod. Instead, she looked back up to the starry night sky. Abruptly, she started to sing - subsequently closing her eyes. Her voice loud and clear; resonated throughout the camp. It may be an overstatement to say that it’d wake up the sleeping residents, but it still resounded audibly enough for the nocturnal ones to hear regardless. She could feel the gazes and stares from behind - possibly from those still awake, as expected. Louise’s body glowed with a silver-colored light. Her charms strangely boosted at the same time; making her appear seductive and provocative instead - rather than simply serene and beautiful - as she sung continuously without taking a second of break, cupping the air around her chest with her hands.
“Not bad…” Owain said, unable to get any other words out.
“Oh? You’re still here? What’s wrong? I thought you’d leave by now,” Louise questioned, pretending to be confounded. She gave the most confident smile as she spoke sarcastically.
“I wanted to hear the end of your song,” Owain smiled, “you’re pretty good”
“For now, it ended; the script stopped halfway like that,” Louise stated, pleased with the common praise. Indeed it had ended, however. Louise sang out all the words she received harmoniously from the sky above. She wouldn’t stop halfway, ever. It was against her principles. She is always thorough and proper.
“Then one day I hope that you finish it,” answered Owain as he looked to the stars. “The attack will start tomorrow if we stay on schedule. We’d best be off”
“Indeed,” Louise gave a nod to the knight. “I have mentioned that I’d take my leave as soon as I’d be done. You may take the sight of me singing as a parting gift,” Louise gave yet another enchanting smile; walking off - turning her back on the banneret knight. “Farewell.”.
Owain smiled and bowed. “Thank you m’lady. Hopefully, it will give me strength in the battle to come,” he said. “Goodnight.” Owain stayed for a moment longer thinking of the last time he looked at the stars like this. Then he too, headed back to camp. When he arrived his group was already sleeping in their tents. The guards that had the first watch were around the fire chatting. Waving to them, he went into his own tent and laid down on his bed for the night.

Once Owain and Nero’s groups returned, the caravan was once again on the move. They didn’t lose much time, but they could assume that their enemies would soon know the direction they were coming from.
“They are still this deep in our territory,” said Leona IV. “We will need to work on cleaning up after we take Raltese. Leaving them alone is far too dangerous.” She turned to Louise. “If everything goes okay in Raltese, that will be our base of operations for the time being while we clean up. I would ask that you assist in this personally. We will need to have a protective veil up over Raltese.”
“Affirmative,” Louise gave a terse bow to her †˜Queen’ before pondering. “Hm, how does putting up a protective veil over Raltese sound - as soon as we gain the upper hand in the battle? Of course, that is assuming that the majority of the course of battle will go as intended,” Louise suggested, raising her index finger. “That way, the cursed rats wouldn’t be able to escape; they’d be caged in the city - cut off from the forest. Soldiers may receive more clean-ups to do, however. Inversely, they cannot have more reinforcement, either.”
“That plan could work, but as I will be fighting with whatever veils they have in place, it may take me some time to get a proper one up. I won’t be of much use in battle until it is finished, either. You and the royal guard will be forced to fight on my behalf. Is this something you can handle?”
“Who do you think I am?” Louise said with a confident smirk with a reassuring peace-mark with her fingers, and a posture that magnified her charm. “Be at ease. As long as you have capable fighters shielding you - we’ll be able to handle things easily. At least, long enough for you to cast a veil.”
Leona smiled. ”Then I will not worry about it, and shall leave it in your capable hands,” she said as the continued to ride on.
“Very well,” Louise nodded after responding with a smile. With this, perhaps we can trap one of the representatives and corner them, Louise pondered. Oh, Princess, you sure come in handy sometimes, Louise laughed internally.
“That would be the ideal situation, Louise, but Marian has proved to be cunning in the past. If anyone, I would like to see her out of the way first,” Leona added, facing Louise again. “Have you ever met the representatives in person?”
“I have, but they may have changed now,” Louise answered. “My knowledge regarding them may now be outdated.”
“This is unfortunate, we will have to make do with the intel we have gathered so far.” answered Leona. “I hate the feeling of going in blind, but the longer we wait the worse things will get. He’s choking us.”
“Unfortunate indeed, our enemies seems to have a good grasp regarding information about our military force, I believe. We’re at a disadvantage already,” Louise provided her analysis, speaking as a matter of fact - maintaining calmness.
“It’s unnerving, it makes you unsure of who to trust. How do you fight a man who has centuries to plan?” she asked.
“Having centuries to plan isn’t his perk. It’s his power, and unique abilities. That said… may I know how effective is your veil, to be precise?”
“Once up, our divine spirits have an easier time connecting with each other. Contacting and using your spirit will become trivial at the point. On the opposite end, I can make the connection between cursed spirits and their hosts almost impossible. If there are any of them nearby they should succumb to their curse.”
“Hm, then the true aim of the plan would most likely not come to fruition. I suppose it’s still an idea to take out the small fries,” Louise said. With how that man made it into the city, it’d not be an understatement to say that other representatives would just be fine under the veil, and have an easy time escaping.
“Yes, the fault of the veil is that I cannot limit it. It eliminates the potential to take in prisoners for questioning,” she answered. “But, it will make things go smoother for us. However, if they are capable of that feat they pulled in Masario we will have another problem on our hands. A counter veil strong enough to fight mine. The range wasn’t that large, but still it could pose a problem.”
“Yeah, that’s the problem. I’m not one for wanting prisoners, the issue is that we cannot trap the representatives at this rate,” Louise answered. “At this point, I’d consider using my veil to strengthen the soldiers to help them fight better, or something,” Louise added, shrugging.
“If we combined our power this battle should be in our favor, but having both of us out of the fight could be risky as well. I have faith in our soldiers, but this could also go bad quickly. We will have to find the proper time,” said Leona.
Fenfang appeared next to her and began walking beside her. “There were no ally casualties, and all of the enemies have been dealt with. We are arriving at a suitable camp location. Should I instruct the men to prepare for camp?”
”Yes, we have made some decent progress today. Tell them we can rest,” answered Leona. Fenfang nodded and ran ahead through the troops to instruct Arkasia and her knights.
The army soon reached a large clearing surrounded partly by rocky hills. Here they made camp. Setting up their defenses, assigning guards to their shifts, and preparing for dinner as the night set on them. The queen’s tent and the royal guards’ tents were near the middle. Then it was the priest and priestesses around that. The knights surrounded the camp as the first lines of defense.
“I wonder how long has it been since Ichigo went to sleep just like that,” Aoi thoughtlessly said. Countless hours passed, the lights were on, and it was clearly dark outside now. The spot where they were kicked would most likely ache now if touched even slightly.
“There’s something… different about her. I wonder what happened to Hoshimiya-san.”
“No kidding… it’s the first time I saw Ichigo like that myself, so I still can’t believe it.” Aoi then looked at Ichigo, who kept her eyes closed, and commented. “It’s like another persona.”
”Ichigo is Ichigo” Ine said again, ”right now I bet Ichigo is cutting off her emotions, I’m sure she’ll be back soon” Ine said with a broad grin.
“Aki… zu… ki-san,” Ichigo faintly called out to the girl that lied just in front of her. Her trembling, fidgeting hand slowly grabbed her’s. Her body was shaking like never before. “Listen... to me, and… take these,” Ichigo then ushered Ine to show her palm to her.
Ine’s eyes widened, before bending closer to Ichigo to hear her out.
“If anything… bad happens to… to any of you, use... these... Alice Stones,” Ichigo gave four stones, one for each.
“These look similar to what Shiraishi used earlier…” Shouta commented.
“I’m almost done… soon… go escape.”
”But… if we leave without you, everything we’ve done would be pointless” Ine said still worried about her friend.
Ichigo pulled her body up, almost mechanically smoothly, it felt rather unreal because she was fidgeting rapidly few seconds ago. “It’s okay, just escape while I distract them,” Ichigo answered, with her cold expression and a tone of voice. “If you don’t, you may regret it.”
“I won’t!”
Ichigo shook her head after closing her eyes. “What I’m saying is, you all will only get in my way. I’m pretty bad at fighting when I have to look after people.” Ichigo coldly looked around the place, possibly thinking of what to do next. “So that’s why, I want you all to leave as soon as I make the guards go down.”
”I don’t want to” Ine said firmly, ”and I don’t want you to fight”
“Yeah, we can’t just leave without you! Come with us, Ichigo!”
“I care not about such feeble feelings that disallows an inevitable battle. I apologize, but I have no intention of backing down. I suppose this is - all the more reason - for you guys to leave.”
”Ichigo…” Ine said reaching her hand out to the girl in front of her.
“Ichigo, what’s wrong with you?! This isn’t the you I know!”
“Do you really intend to fight?! Heck, can you - a small girl - fight?!” Shiraishi blurted out the most contradictory question, she only took notice after she said so.
“Let me help. I’ll beat the shit out of anyone who tries to stop us. I’ll stay out of your way as you proceed, too.” Shouta’s been surprised too many times by Alices and the students of the Academy. If Ichigo truly had some life-sucking Alice, he believed he could stand to see it.
“Maybe I should fight too, my Alice is good for combat!” said Shiraishi, apparently fired up.
“Not you too!”
“You two should protect Akizuki-san and Aoi, and escape,” Ichigo said, shaking her head.
Shouta groaned at the suggestion, as he was itching for a fight. He really hoped to get a shot at Reo after everything he’s done to his friends. However, Shouta decided, in the end, to oblige Ichigo’s request. He turned to the three and said. “We should wait for a good moment to run. Otherwise, all of that asshole’s goons will be after us!”
“B-But, we can’t just leave Ichigo here… ”
“That’s right!” Ine agreed.
“Well, let’s wait and see for now, I guess. I’m not sure how to deal with this situation, honestly.”
Ichigo stood up completely, stretching her arms and legs. “Now, since recovery is over. It’s time to get started.”
“As if you’re recovered! There’s no way!” Ine said with tears in her eyes, “you’ll only get worse if you use your Alices again, idiot!
“Recovered? How?!”
“I wonder how long has it been since Ichigo went to sleep just like that,” Aoi thoughtlessly said. Countless hours passed, the lights were on, and it was clearly dark outside now. The spot where they were kicked would most likely ache now if touched even slightly.

“Everyone, listen to me carefully while you all pretend to still be tied up and asleep!”
It seemed that there were faint burning noises from the other side, Ichigo was mostly likely burning the ropes.
“Oh? So you did had transmitters after all? To think such devices would work even under Mark’s barrier, that’s truly impressive.”
It was Reo’s voice, who seemed to have found out that everyone was awakened.
Tch, he found it, Ing said internally as he entered the technical class using the Jetterpillar. He quickly jumped down and plugged the box that he was holding to a TV. Now where are they. . . He thought as he entered the command inputs to activate the earring’s Transmitter module.
“So it’s him after all… !!” Amelia muttered angrily.
“You sunnuva…”
“Huh?!” surprised, Aoi gasped.
“Yo, Hoshimiya Ichigo-san,” Reo said, sounds of walking could be heard. “It seems like you have been treating my companions really well,” he said, a rough sound of something solid landing against something squishy were barely heard. Amelia and the others were rather confused.
Ichigo groaned in immense pain loudly.
“Oh no, is he hurting her?!”
“Damn it… it seems that way.”
It seemed like more noises of hitting and kicking occurred. Everyone wearing the snake-transmitters in the academy heard thuds repeatedly.
“Mother fucker!”
“Haha! What a feisty face for a brat, good, that’s the expression I want to see!”
“Ichigo!! Please stop, stop hurting her like that!!” Aoi pleaded after losing all composure, her voice made it apparent that she was on the verge of crying.
”Scum” Ine said, very angry, ”you’re absolute scum.”
“If I’m scum, then this bitch is ten folds worse,” Reo replied gleefully.
Maya was absolutely displeased, after hearing the noises of pain and kicking, only she should be the one to do that! She came back from the toilet, and wore her earring which she took off earlier, only to know that serious matters were at hand. “Scum indeed, I am disappointed, Reo!” she said, losing all respect for Mouri Reo, who she was a fan of until now.
“That is why I hate famous people, they’re disgusting.” Ing said as he continued to scan the whole area. Come on, where are you guys!
”Don’t you dare talk about my friend like that” Ine said, furious.
“Then let me tell you guys what this innocent looking girl had been doing for some time now,” Reo said, another thud could be heard. “She killed countless men with her bizarre Alice. All at the whim of the academy’s commands.”
“You’d think she’d go against the academy with all the power she had, but no! She took pleasure in killing!” Reo claimed. “Right, Life-sucking Vampire, Hoshimiya Ichigo-san?” Reo did something, but Amelia and the others couldn’t tell until they heard Ichigo scream in pain yet again. Amelia cringed, Miya frowned.
“What is he talking about while harming my students… ?!”
“Lies, all of them!” Amelia shouted almost reflexively. Tch, to think this guy knows all that about her, but he doesn’t get the motive behind her actions, after all. Pleasure in killing? As if.
“Stop it!!” Shiraishi yelled.
”There’s no way, that’s not Ichigo, no matter what anyone says, even if I hear it from her own mouth, that isn’t Ichigo” Ine said firmly.
“Aki...zu...ki...san… ” Ichigo spoke under her breath. However, for some reason, she groaned in pain yet again.
“Oh dear, what strong belief you have of her. Do you know how they ended up naming her the Life-sucking Vampire?”
“Life-sucking-”
“Vampire?”
”I don’t care, Ichigo is Ichigo!”
“It’s just a stupid nickname they gave her!” Hyuuga shouted out, but her voice transmitted via the device would be unheard due to Reo’s voice; as he held everyone’s attention.
“It’s because she has this Alice that directly lets her take others’ lives. Apparently she killed over hundreds with this Alice alone. Apparently accumulating life-force is a part of her job for the school. She also uses her concerts as an excuse to slowly draw life-force from the audience. To think you people like a bitch like her, makes me want to puke!”
So he said it after all… damn this guy!
Just what is with this conversation? Is Hoshimiya-san really a person like that? If so, to hell with the people with special powers!
“That can’t be true!!”
Sakura stood behind everyone, silently. Not believing the conversation she was hearing through the earpiece. Is this what he meant when he said that the academy made them do under the shadows… ? Sakura couldn’t believe Ichigo was capable of doing something like that. She thought. How can someone live like that? How can she seem so happy and do stuff like that?!
“Shut your fucking mouth, Reo!”
“Face the facts, already!” Reo shouted out.
“You fucking bastard… !!”
More noises of Reo hitting the others resounded, so much that Miya and the others heard them loudly. They cringed and almost faced the other way.

“And you,” Reo looked at Ine, abruptly stepping over Ine’s cheeks. “Don’t think you can call me names without having to pay for it.”
“I’m the… bad one here… right?! Let go... of them!! I did it - as I was tasked - I killed those people... we both know that… so let them go!” Ichigo yelled out, despite her state, she somehow forced the words out her throat.
”Don’t… Ichigo, don’t touch her” Ine said despite having Reo step all over her face.
“You’re right… you’re!” Reo walked over to Ichigo angrily. “The worst for hurting our boss!” he stepped over her frail injured body again, making Ichigo scream out. He then leaned down over towards the girls, and pulled out the snake-earring voice-transmitting device from Shiraishi.
“Sorry, but we’re gonna be taking your students now.”
“Mouri Reo… why?! Why did you join such an organization. You’ll pay for this dearly!”
“Heh, as if missy. Why ask when you already know? You know how the academy treated us.”
“What… what are you talking about?!”
“Oi, oi. You used to work with us and did the academy’s dirty works, remember?”
They used to work together… ?!
What’s up with this conversation?!
“Eh… ? I… don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Did they manipulate your memories? HAHA! That’s genius of them!”
[i]Memory… manipulation?! Can Alice Academy do such a thing?!
“I don’t care about all that now! Stop treating my students with violence!”
“No can do, they’re all too annoying!” Reo said with glee, then tossing the earring towards his subordinate who stood behind him.
Reo walked over to his subordinate, talking. “When do the boat get here?”
“Around tonight. We should be able to transport them before midnight,” Mark, the bald black man wearing black suit answered.
“We need to find out their Alices before then,” Reo whispered to him.
“Everyone, listen carefully,” Miya said, the earrings were still worn by Ine, Shouta and Aoi. “No matter what, you must not let them know what your Alices are, and be careful of Re-” as Miya spoke, Reo pulled the earrings out, as well as his subordinate simultaneously. “That’s the most troublesome item so far, after the Alice Badges.”
However, it was pure luck that they didn’t notice how the ropes were burned. Only titbits of them remained over their wrists, and it helped to fool the eyes of Reo and his subordinates. Usually, Ichigo would be able to perfectly burn the ropes to a crisp, but that was not possible in her condition.
“We’ve put the barrier,” Reo stepped over Ine yet again, “down.”
Reo leaned forward towards Ine, and shoved her up by pulling on her ear. “Now use it… your Alice,” Reo’s Voice Pheromone Alice was active, and it made Ine feel dizzy, and for some reason, she felt like being more obedient and caring towards Reo. How impossible, but it was actually happening, as Ine questioned even herself, her thoughts were being shoved aside by a strange warm feeling that took birth in her heart.
“Stop it, you freak!” said Shiraishi, as Reo was pushed away by an invisible force.
“Reo-san!!” Mark called out, and ran over to Reo while the blond man in black suit punched Shiraishi without any hesitation. “I’m putting the barrier back up!” he said, then concentrated on his Alice. The Alices of the middle school students were sealed yet again.
Seeing Shiraishi being hit the first time already almost tilted Shouta, but this second time caused him to scream. “Bastard!” intending to use his Alice, but it was sealed off beforehand.
“Hah, so there we have it - a Telekinesis Alice user - we could always use more of them,” Reo said with a smirk that conveyed his satisfactory, Shouta’s screams were music to his ears.
“What do we do with the others?”
“There’s plenty of time, we’ll slowly unveil their Alices in time,” Reo calmly whispered to the man in black.
Meanwhile, Ichigo and the others were aching all over due to the merciless kick from the barbaric man.
Aoi’s face was littered with dirt, bruises and tears, and so were the others. Except that Shouta was filled with rage instead of tears. It was unknown what kept him bound to his sanity.

“I hope you all know what this means. You all will probably be sold off somewhere, if something isn’t done about this situation,” Hyuuga explained with a disdainful tone of voice. The group - of course - already knew this.
“Probably, that’s why we’re talking here! How long do you think any help would come in?” Shiraishi replied, feeling slightly irritated due to the almost hopeless situation.
“Soon, apparently. It took some time for the academy to even listen to us. Those goddamned laid-back staff!” Amelia informed, annoyed at the teaching staff of the academy. She'd scoff them all day if she had nothing better to do after this.
“May we know where you all are? What do you all see around there?” Miya cut into the conversation, asking. She felt great anxiety despite her usual demeanor she displays towards her students. As a teacher, she genuinely cares for her students - more than they realize.
“Ah, Miya sensei!” Relieved, Aoi was very happy that a teacher was finally getting involved. It'd be a helpless situation without a teacher's guidance now.
Shiraishi reported after a nod as she looked around intently. “We see lots of cargo boxes here, and well, from the environment, it’s probably a warehouse. We’re all tied up together here.”
“This is just a guess, but we’re most likely close to the sea,” Aoi guessed, it was most likely true due to the place being a warehouse of all places.
“Is Hoshimiya-kun with you all?”
“Yeah, we woke her up and she’s listening too!” Shiraishi happily informed, relieved that Ichigo was at least awake now.
“She… doesn’t look fine, sensei. Was she even treated in the hospital?!” Aoi asked with teary eyes, worried.
“Aoi... ” Ichigo looked down. She had no clue that they noticed about her state, till now.
“She was treated, but Hoshimiya-kun needs time to rest, she had been pushing herself far too much recently.”
Ine looked at Ichigo worriedly, tightly squeezing her hand. ”I knew it” Ine said quietly.
“Alice overuse right? Hyuuga-san mentioned it, earlier.” Shouta wanted confirmation. “Why does she need to use her Alice so often, though?” He still only knew of Ichigo’s Vocal Enhancement Alice, but, after seeing Shiraishi’s second Alice, he suspected Ichigo had some number of additional Alices, as well.
“I’m afraid I don’t know that much myself Fushiki-kun, and even if I knew; I’d not be allowed to talk about such confidential information. I’m not even sure if Hoshimiya-kun is a Limited type and thus has the case of Alice overuse.”
“No way… She actually pushed herself that far...”
“It’s very Ichigo-like for her to do that,” Aoi angrily frowned.
“I know she’s sick but, Hoshimiya-kun… “ Miya called out to Ichigo with a hint of disdain from her voice. “I was informed that you have a method with your Alice to †˜burn’ things. Please, use it to burn the ropes.”
“Are you sure about the permission?” Ichigo narrowed her eyes, asking for a confirmation.
“Yes, the authorities have decided. You may use your other Alices.”
“Understood.” Ichigo replied with a very cold and bland face. Her cheerful expression was replaced with a cold-hearted expression, it was the first time that Aoi witnessed this face.
“Whoa…” This was an unexpected expression from Ichigo to Shouta. She wasn’t the upbeat idol he knew from watching television. She was gravely serious.
Although Ine couldn’t see Ichigo’s face, the tone of her voice sent shivers down her spine.
“Everyone, listen carefully while pretending to still be tied up and asleep!”
Blue flame rose from Ichigo’s ropes, as they burned away, she then poked her finger with Ine’s ropes, next was Shiraishi, then Shouta, and, lastly, Aoi.
“Oh? So you did had transmitters after all? To think such devices would work even under Mark’s barrier, that’s impressive.”
It was Reo, who seemed to have found out that everyone was awakened.

The next morning, the Army of the Scion was prepared in front of the town below Arkasia. The wind blew fiercely this morning, but the soldiers stood at the ready; unaffected. They were ready to start this war and avenge the fallen. The leaders of this forces gathered near the back with the catapults and other war machines.
“Arkasia, are preparations finished yet?” asked Leona IV. She stood in front of a table with a large map laid out in front of her. The path they were taking to Raltese was marked with pins. Arkasia had to admit, she was beginning to change her mind about the young queen, but she would reserve judgement for later.
“Yes, we are ready to move out at your command. I was surprised to hear that you would be coming with us ahead of schedule. I thought you would have stayed another week, at least,” said Arkasia.
“My people are putting their lives on the line. I wish to do the same. Perhaps, I might be able to assist on a large scale, and turn the tide. The city will be fine without me for now,” answered Leona IV.
“Slow and steady wins the race, they say,” Louise - who walked in and stood beside Leona IV - shrugged with a half-hearted smile.
“Ah, I heard you recently became the High Priestess. You sure don’t play around do you?” said Arkasia.
“Inversely, you may say that I’m rather bored of playing around,” Louise replied without hesitation, showing a rather confident smile. She felt as though there was nothing fearsome waiting for her in the city of Raltese.
“Haha, I like you. I think we will get along well.” she responded.
“I sure hope so,” Louise nodded in agreement.
Leona IV looked to Louise. “I assume the spirit casters are prepared as well Louise?” she asked.
“Now,” Louise closed her eyes. “Why would I be here, otherwise?” Louise spoke in a matter of factly manner. Indeed they were ready, with how she prepared them, they were at their best. Some looked down at Louise’s solutions, favoring modern methods of magical enchantments over the more old and basic styles. That’s what lead to their downfall in the first place. The more modern one goes - the more ineffective they become ultimately. Of course, Louise wouldn’t take †˜no’ for an answer, and had them adjust to her preferences regardless. Talia was one hell of an example as a modern mage - with modern preferences - to Louise, who couldn’t discern the true worth of her wand. Louise stressed if she should take the wand back, but it could prove to be a waste to hold onto two wands while she could only use one at a time.
“Good, then let’s go over the plan one more time,” said Leona IV. “We will take this path that curves around the mountain range, and come up on the rear of the city. Then we will set up our teams at the front. We’ll be able to rattle the castle with catapults; forcing them out into the streets. From there, Arkasia’s plan will come into play.”
“Me and my knights will move in and break through the front. With the catapult rattling the castle we will be attacking from both sides simultaneously. We will make a push for the two bridges that connect the two sides of the city. At this point we will start to push our veils forward to combat theirs. Since we have the home field advantage, we should be able to burn through them quickly. Then we will slowly push forward, forcing them into a corner. Having your veils up will be the key to this plan working. We will be depending on you.”
“I feel like there’s a chance that reinforcements would enter from outside - through the woods - I hope it’s just not my concern.”
“Of course I have teams ready to repel reinforcements. Once the city is secured however we will have a much easier time. There is more at Raltese than the cursed would know. Something must be protected, but will also aid us.”
“I suppose. The veil adds substantial advantage to us, after all. However, we’re kind of outdated regarding their abilities now, but I guess with the advantage; I wouldn’t worry so much anymore,” Louise analyzed the case in her mind. For some reason, she felt that one could never be too careful. Arkasia seemed more confident than the queen… perhaps this person isn’t half-bad, at least for now - to Louise.
“Yes, it will be a battle of who can last the longest. Despite their knowledge, being on our soil will always give us an edge,” answered Leona IV. “I will do my best to see that a veil is kept up.”
“Good, now if the representatives show up, our plan may need to be changed. Depending on how many of them are present we may need to play a little defense ourselves and tire them out… Soul is always a wild card.”
“I haven’t heard much about this Soul person, what is known about him, so far?” Louise asked, she had been putting the representatives out of the equation, but now that she hear the name - she felt like she needed to. In fact, she simply forgot to put them in. Since she was confident about her team, she felt that she didn’t need to think so much, till now.
Arkasia looked to Louise wondering how she had not heard of by now. “Talks with him have always gone south. In the past when peace talks were still a valid option, he would often end with them, violently. He is not someone you can talk to, and he won’t hesitate to kill even his own men. Also, as far as we know his body is indestructible.”
“Oh? Interesting, it seems like Cain himself found a diamond from the rough after so many years,” Louise said, chuckling to herself. “A person specifically put to raise war and disorder; an ingenious move based simply on personality.”
“You speak as if you know the man,” stated Arkasia.
“Of course I do,” Louise nonchalantly answered, still maintaining a smile.
“Am I expected to believe you have met a man who no one has seen for 700 years?” answered Arkasia.
“Do I need you to believe? That’s entirely up to you,” Louise replied, with not a single change to her expression.
Drawing her blade at lightning fast speed Arkasia held it close to Louise’s throat. “I don’t have the patience for your games. Not with all the things that have happened here lately. The head priestess vouches for you, but what you are telling me doesn't instill much confidence.”
“I care not. You’re not worthy of the information you seek, yet. Maybe if you say †˜please’, next time,” Louise replied, unfazed. The smirk from her face was yet to leave.
Arkasia returned her sentiment with a smile. “If you weren’t so sneaky, you'd be my type,” said Arkasia still holding up her blade.
“Arkasia, that is enough.” said Leona. “Lower your weapon.”
“Since you seem so eager, I shall enlighten you on one thing: you can’t possibly expect to win this war without my guidance,” Louise’s smile was now gone. Replaced with a rather darkened face, it was cold, serious, and borderline expressionless. These people didn’t stand a chance against Cain. If he were to somehow get stronger - winning the war would merely be a dream. They should be more thankful to the fact that she’s bothering to stay. No one knows the worth of a person till after they’re gone.
Arkasia listened more to Louise than Leona, before she relaxed her grip on her weapon. Pulling back, she sheathed it. Louise didn’t fear Arkasia, and she could feel it. Either she was reckless or stronger than she was letting on. Her gut told her it was the latter. “Interesting,” Arkasia said smiling at Louise. “I don’t sense that you are lying, but you must know that such knowledge will label to a traitor to some. Try to keep that information to yourself from now on.”
“It really doesn’t hinder me if that happens. I’m only in the fray on behest of Leona III, an old friend. Otherwise, I planned to do things solo,” Louise replied, noting her warning, but not planning to follow her words. She was already following it in her own manner. She wouldn’t tell just about anyone that she met Cain, but Arkasia was yet to notice the meaning behind Louise saying it too simply.
“You are a strange one, Louise,” answered Arkasia. “I hope that we can at least count on you to stick around for the battle of Raltese.”
“For the time being, I’ll stick with you all. It’s not like I know much about the current representatives, anyway.”
“That is fine, and I will share the intel we collect with you freely,” said Arkasia. “In exchange I will be hoping to see you put on a good show out there.”
“You may count on us to get that done. Of course, with the team I prepared - we may be able to do more than just showering flashy displays of magic. However. I suppose time shall tell,” Louise answered, quite certain that her team would do well. “I’m not so certain about their mental state, however. It wasn’t something I had enough time to discipline.” Louise wanted to believe that her team would be brave, unless they panic from the sight of demons… Louise internally sighed, they are indeed inexperienced. She’d have to pull out a fancy trick if that happens.
“I have no doubt in your destructive abilities, but should we face the representatives I don’t want to risk your safety,” answered Arkasia. “Your team will be the key to this plan.”
“I am aware. I plan to reserve my powers until our Highness wishes for me to demonstrate my abilities. Besides, the likeliness of the representatives appearing are high, after all,” Louise answered, remembering what she learned recently. This invasion just can’t be a walk in the park. Hopefully it would, though.
“Yes, we don’t know the identities of anyone, but Soul and Marian, who we have had the unpleasant chance to meet. Them alone will prove to be formidable,” said the Queen.
“I feel like they’re… most likely there. Do be extra cautious. Call it divine intuition.”
“I agree, they have been too quiet, and Soul isnt the type of man to sit in Agreyus long during wartime,” answered Leona IV. “So, we must be prepared for him early. For now let’s just get there.”
The next morning, the Army of the Scion was prepared in front of the town below Arkasia. The wind blew fiercely this morning, but the soldiers stood at the ready; unaffected. “Hey! Heeey! Kiriyaaaa!!” Aoi could hear something, but she felt too lazy to open her eyes.
“Lemme sleep a little longer… ”
“Ki-ri-ya! Wake up!”
“EH?! Ah, where am-”
“Shhhhh!”
Aoi stopped before she could finish her sentence. “Good morning, Shiraishi-san. Where are we?”
“It isn’t morning! And I don’t know, I just woke up too. It seems like we were brought to a warehouse. Turns out those shameless bastards kidnapped us too!”
Ine and Shouta were fast asleep behind Shiraishi, probably due to the effects of the drugs used on them. Shouta was directly behind Shiraishi. In fact, his body was tightly lumped with her in the small space. She wriggled her fingers around, and lightly pushed with her body in hopes that Shouta would wake up, despite being unable to do so properly due to the ropes that kept her bound.
“Mmnn… ” Shouta writhed in his unconscious state for a few seconds before awakening. “Ah!” he looked around in surprise. The last thing he remembered was going for the throat of Reo, then falling unconscious. Now, he was tied down in a dark area with Shiraishi, Ine and Aoi. “...Damnit…” He groaned.
He noticed Ine near him, still unconscious. The other two were up. As Shouta tried to prod Ine awake, he asked the others. “Either of you know where we are?”
”No papa… there’s no way I could eat so much ramen” Ine said half asleep.
“With all these cargo boxes, I’d assume that we were brought to a warehouse,” Aoi whispered to Shouta, not sure if he could even hear her. “There is a high probability that we’re close to the sea.”
“That… doesn’t sound good.”
“Are these guys Yakuza members or something…?” Shouta assumed, calling upon movie knowledge. He knew in American movies, mobs would sometimes dispose of people by making them †˜sleep with the fishes’.
Ine tried to rub her eyes as she woke up, but couldn’t as her hands were tied. ”Eh?” Ine said confused, “what happened?”
“It appears that we got kidnapped too, Akizuki-san,” Aoi said, disheartened. “Wait… not good?”
“If the rumors are true, they say that some evil organization collects Alices however they can, and they transport them via sea, or air. It means that we’re all in big trouble!”
“Really!? Holy crap. So these were some of the †˜wrong hands’ Amelia was talking about…” Shouta began struggling to get out of his binds, even knocking and rubbing himself against objects to at least release his hands.
“We have to think of a way out real fast… ”
Ine nodded her head, she did not like the sound of the organisation, to her they sounded like bullies. The movement made her notice something behind her, or to be more precise tied tightly to her. ”Ichigo!” she called out in surprise and joy.
“Wait! Ichigo is here?! I’m so glad!” Aoi said, giving a deep sigh of relief.
“Her breathing is normal right now, thank goodness!”
“Great, now all we need to do is get out of here with her!”
Just as Ine called out to the sleeping Ichigo, everyone heard advancing noises of footsteps.
“Guys, pretend to sleep for now!” Aoi closed her eyes shut as soon as she said so.
Ine followed suit, closing her eyes and snoring lightly. She was slightly worried that she might fall asleep for real, though.
Shouta stopped where he was, and laid unmoving. Behind his back, he still discreetly tried to free his hands.
“Well, they up yet?”
“Nope, sound asleep the lot of them.”
“I thought I heard something from there.”
“One of them is snoring, so maybe that.”
“Perhaps.”
The man walked away, sighing. “Cut me some slack already, kidnapping kids instead of those high school babes, today is a bad, bad day!” said the black bald man as his shadow slowly crept away from view.
“We have to be more silent… ”
“You can say that again. Akizuki-san, you were too loud earlier!” Shiraishi said, blaming her.
Ine gave a half-hearted laugh. ”Sorry, Sorry” she said, repentant.
“Man, that was too damn close.” Shouta sighed deeply.
“Hey!

“H-Hello, you guys there?!” Aoi suddenly spoke out through the group’s snake-shaped earrings.
“Yeah, we’re actually going to class now, that Reo-san vanished, we had no more reason to stay there, so we’re sneaking out,” said Amelia, to the Aoi who contacted her all of a sudden, asking where they are.
“I have no time to explain, but!” Aoi begun, apparently in a hurry, noises of footsteps could be heard; they were running. “Ichigo was kidnapped by Reo-san!”
“Eh?! What do you mean?” said Hyuuga Aoi, tilting her head, unable to face the sudden gravity of the situation as it developed rapidly. Just as the group was about to go down the stairs now, they could hear running noises from below, she assumed it was Shouta and the others down there.
“Reo-sama is… a kidnapper?! This can’t be!”
“We mean what we said! It’s true!”
“Assuming this is true… They haven’t left the academy yet… we should stop them!”
“We’re going after them. Go tell the authorities about it while you guys can!”
“Right, we’re on it!”
The communications were cut off. “So as soon as he disappeared from the room, he made way for Hoshimiya-san?” Aoi said, putting pieces of the puzzle together in her mind.
“That… is probably what happened, he most likely used Instant Teleportation Alice somehow.”
“I think I know what’s going on, and it’s a pretty ugly mess. Hoshimiya-san needs to be brought back, or else her life will be in danger! We’re hurrying to the authorities in the headquarters of the academy guys! Run for it!”
“Okay, though why would Reo-san kidnap Hoshimiya-san?” Sakura asked as started running behind the others.
“I’ll explain after I get a hold of the ride!”
“Ride?”
“It… can’t be what I think it is, right?”
“Oh it’s exactly what you think it is.”
”Can’t you guys just say what it is without keeping us in the dark!?”
”They’ll explain once it’s clear. Just follow what they said for now!”
The group now stood outside the hospital. Guards surrounded the group instantly as they exited. “Sorry, but we don’t have the time,” a strange noise could be heard.
“As if! We’re capturing you all for breaking the rules and entering the hospital while Mouri-sama was inside!”
The noise got closer and louder by the second. It sounded more like a voice then a simple noise.
As the men looked up in awe, the gigantic strange beast came down from the sky; landing abruptly. To be more precise, it was a plant-like creature. It looked grotesque, evil, monstrous, and had a large gaping mouth with fangs hanging out from it. It possessed seemingly black woods and vines, and had four wings in it’s back.
“I know it’s nothing beautiful, but… get on,” Amelia hopped over the strange creature that could scare away almost anyone from it - the guards sure were scared - as it leaned it’s head down for the others to hop on.
“So you called this after all… ” Hyuuga Aoi sighed, then leapt over, sat behind Amelia. “You three, come up! It’s harmless despite it’s appearance right now.”
”A-Are you sure?” Sakura asked not really sure if she could really believe them. To her it looked like something that came straight out of a horror movie.
“That thing is… sorta scary!” Maya said, completely lost her composure. Actually, she may have lost it ever since she heard the rumor about Reo, but no one bothered to enlighten her.
”That’s probably not Reo that they’re talking about, Chiyoda-san. It’s probably someone with a mimic Alice, copies Reo’s form and kidnaps people in order to make people think that Reo is a bad person. Besides, we did saw Reo and I did managed to take a picture of him, right?” Ing tried to enlighten her and he continued. ”Interesting ride you have here,” Ing said as he quickly hop on the strange looking beast. ”You’ll have to explain about this to me once we’re out of heat.”
”I-It better be harmless!” Sakura said as she got on the strange creature. ”Kouzuki-san, I think you need try and get Chiyoda-san on here somehow.”
”Come here, Chiyoda-san.” Ing reached out his hand for Maya, willing to help her get on the strange creature. ”It’s harmless, don’t be afraid. Just take my hand.”
“Umm, o-okay… ”

“Way to go with the Acting Alice, Kiriya-san, and with that attack with the Telekinesis Alice, Shiraishi!”
“Phew… ” Ine let out a sigh of relief then made a thumbs up to Aoi and Shiraishi. ”Good Job”
Aoi and Shiraishi did a highfive, smiling at each other. “Distract and hit, we’ll make a great pair, Shiraishi-san!”
“ Yeah! You said it!”
“I knew it though, we can’t rely on the academy just yet, huh?!”
“Yeah, but now we totally lost the car, with all these roads leading to different directions,” Shiraishi said as all four to stopped to look around.
“We have to find a way to track that car.”
“Guess we don’t have any other choice, then,” Shiraishi said, taking out a tiny green stone from her pocket. She concentrated, taking the stone close to her chest.
“Promise me you guys won’t laugh!” Shiraishi angrily requested… more like, ordered, as she bared her fangs towards the others with a frown. A pair of two yellow dog-ears popped up from her head, as well as whiskers appearing over her cheeks. Lastly, a yellow tail flicked out from the back of her skirt.
“This Alice is as embarrassing as ever...” Shiraishi said shyly, almost closing her fingers; her hands were gestured like cat-paws. Her cheeks painted vividly pink by embarrassment, but she still held a cranky face, it seemed that she even grew longer fangs. There weren’t anyone at this section of the streets, so she felt safer using the Alice here. Shiraishi usually doesn’t care when people stares at her, it only matters when she uses this embarrassing Alice.
”They look good on you Shiraishi-san” Ine smiled.
Shouta simply stared at Shiraishi, dumbfounded. S-S-She’s… so cute! What’s with those ears and that tail!?
Aoi’s eyes went starry. “You look cu- wait, what are you even doing?!”
“Agh! They don’t, nyaa!” Shiraishi spat out at Aoi and Ine. “A-Anyway! I can now track Reo and his goons with my sense of scent as long as this Alice lasts nyaa.”
“Oh no they look amazing on you!” Aoi remarked, ignoring her statement of denial. I’ll make sure to take many pictures after all this is over!! Aoi thought, her eyes still starry, but as she backtracked the words she heard from Shiraishi, her expression turned serious again. It was no time to be fooling around.
“I-i-i-i-is that so…? I-is that a-another Alice?” Shouta stuttered as he spoke to Shiraishi. He couldn’t help himself, he was at a loss for words at her appearance. Even her manner of speech; she started talking like a cat. It was just so cute to him.
“I-It’s a gift from my old senpai who’s a High School student currently. Now let me concentrate nyaa!” Shiraishi bent down to the floor on all four, her tail strangely curled upwards; rolling up - comparable to that of a dog’s tail. She sniffed the air like a cat would, and tried to track Reo’s scent from the air.
”Nyaa?” Ine tilted her head. The cat-dog Alice sure was funny she thought.
“I can’t speak in a different manner other than this when I use this Alice, nyaa! Stop thinking anything inappropriate like it being funny if you are, nyaa!” Shiraishi spoke out the last part with emphasis very angrily. This was the reason why she hated this Alice, just as much as her upperclassman did.
“Amazing, you look just like a cat, and even act like one… but why the tail of a dog?”
“This is called the Cat-Dog Alice, I have the senses of both a cat, and a dog nyaa!”
“Amazing!”
”Shut it!” Shiraishi yelled at Aoi with a frown. “Oh, I think we can take a shortcut nyaa!” Shiraishi informed the others, smiling. She was able to track down the goons. “Follow me, nyaa!” Shiraishi said, leading the way. Instead of running like a person normally, she ran like a cat instead, literally, with both her hands and legs.
Ine giggled, thinking that Shiraishi was cute like this as she followed after.

The group dashed towards the car; chasing it. Aoi and Ine fell behind due to a lack of stamina. Surprisingly, Shouta and Shiraishi sped up - faster than ever - almost catching up.
Shiraishi felt like her range caught up to the car - for her Alice’s usage - she stretched her arm forward as she ran with all her might. “Take this!”
It seemed as though the car came to a cessation, but for a very short moment, before it proceeded to moving onward towards the gates at an alarming speed. The exit to the academy - on the other hand - was crowded with students of all branches; all wanting to catch a glimpse of the ever popular performer, Reo. Little did they know that Reo and his goons kidnapped the most popular idol of the academy and kept that misleadingly innocent-looking sick girl under the trunk of the car.
The gates opened with a clunk as the guards pushed a certain button to have it open. A guard signalled the car to hastily pass through.
“Fushiki-kun, we’re using your shoes to go after them, do you think you can pull it off?” Aoi asked, barely catching up to Shouta.
“I can try! Everyone, hang on!”
“We’re counting on you!”
“Please take care of us!”
”Sho-kun, be careful with me” Ine said, smiling but panting hard.
Shouta stopped, and let the three come to him, as he prepared himself for a boosted jump. He took a deep breath, readying his body for the extra weight, and his voice, in case he needs to propel himself further. Once Ine, Shiraishi, and Aoi all grabbed onto him, he made a small hop to prime the boots, allowing his second jump to launch everyone into the air.
It didn’t create enough distance to catch up with the car. As he reached the peak of the jump, Shouta turned around and shouted, using his Alice to propel himself, and everyone along with him, closer to the car. “Come on…” he pleaded as they began to descend.
Shouta undeniably reached closer to the car, but the car simply went past the gates, as they stopped right behind the crowd of students, they may have been too late.
“Goddamnit!” Shiraishi cursed, still unable to hear anything.
“Fushiki-kun, try again! We might be able to make it out of the gates. That way, we can keep chasing them even without the shoes!” Aoi suggested, speaking louder than usual. As she was unable to hear anything due to the Shout Alice, she could only speak however she could in hopes that Shouta would be able to hear her words.
Shouta was burned out from his sprint from earlier, along with the first boosted jump. However, he gathered his remaining energy to attempt one more jump. He made sure everyone still had a firm grip on him, and ran, building some momentum before hopping and jumping once again. He, again, needed to use his Alice to ensure they could safely land over and out of the gate.
As Shouta leaped, the tip of his legs touched the solid cold asphalt of the road - he put force on it - pressing against the earth to immediately jump once again. With the force generated from his shoes - he performed a high jump. He turned his face towards the students behind them, all looking at them in awe and surprise. He felt sorry for them, but it had to be done. “ARGH!!” he screamed; letting out an ear-deafening noise from his mouth - deliberately unleashing his Alice via screeching - as Aoi, Ine and Shiraishi tightly held their ears, and still felt their ears ringing loudly soon after. They already knew that it’d barely help their ears, however. The group flied straight ahead towards the exit of the academy as it was closing. The guards, having caught sight of the four was trying to rush the gates closed.
“What the?! Hurry, those brats are trying to escape the academy!” the guards rushed the process after coming to a realization.
Regardless of the extra efforts put by the guards, Shouta and the others slipped past the gates a second before the gates closed shut.
The four burst out running as soon as they were out, going after the car which was still visibly passing by with every seconds - ignoring the roars of the guards who couldn’t leave the gates unattended - the teachers and the rest of the staff would have to take action. Outside the academy’s gates, there were roads leading straight, left and right. The black limousine went straight, so the three gave a dash straight ahead as well.

An audible yet silent panting noise could be heard from Ichigo who was fast asleep. It seemed like she was in pain, even when resting. Droplets of sweat rolled by her skin without her knowledge. Who knows how long she’s been like this.
He shook his head. That †˜hero’ girl was not important at this point in time. He had come here to see Ichigo. “How’s she feeling?” Shouta asked Aoi and Ine. They were her friends, surely they already started checking on her. “Is she alright…?” He quietly asked again as he approached Ichigo’s bed.
Ine shook her head, ”she doesn’t look good Ine said, tears in her eyes, “Ichigo…”. Ichigo was sleeping fitfully, sweat dripped down her face in glistening bead and her heart was audibly pounding fast, looking at her like this made Ine feel unbelievably sad.
Aoi fell to her knees. “I… Ichigo… ” Strands of salty water rushed down - past her cheeks - as they lightly thumped against the floor - as she looked at Ichigo was a blank face; heart broken. She had no idea her friend was going through all this. It was the first time in her life that Ichigo was in a dire condition such as this before her.
“W-What happened to her?! This looks worse than simple sickness, have they even been treating her here?!” Shiraishi angrily exclaimed, her frown completely disorganizing her facial expression. There were tears in her eyes, too, but she tried to hold them off.
“This is the result of somebody overusing their Alice…?” Shouta cringed at Ichigo’s state. “Why wasn’t anyone taking care of her!? Where are the doctors!?” He started becoming angry with the hospital for not taking better care of its patients. He looked for a towel or something similar to wipe the sweat from Ichigo; he wasn’t entirely sure how to help her get better, but this was probably a good start.
“Someone is… approaching the room?!” Shiraishi whispered in a serious tone after coming to a realization.
“Seriously?” Shouta was focused on Ichigo, but turned his head toward Shiraishi in surprise.
”Eh!” Ine said roused from her empathy.
“... ” Aoi still stared at Ichigo - she was almost frozen internally.
“Don’t just stand there like statues, we have to hide!”
“Does it even… matter anymore?”
“Of course it does! You want to be with her more, right?!” Shiraishi then tugged on Aoi’s shirt, and pulled her, dragging her to a table on the other. “We should hide under this table, with the Ghost Badge still active - we have a good shot at being safe. The window is wide open, so they might assume that we escaped.”
Ine nodded her head, “mmm, good idea Shiraishi-san” she said following her under the table.
“...Are we doing this, again…?” Shouta mumbled as everyone started to crowd up underneath the table. To Shouta, this felt like an awfully familiar situation. There was very little room for himself after the three other girls crawled under. “Pardon me…” He said quietly as he tried to fit underneath with them.
“Bah! Why do you have to be beside me again?!” Shiraishi snapped out at Shouta who was to the left from her perspective. Remembering what transpired in that one empty classroom, her cheeks contained tiny shades of pink, but considering the situation, she tried to shove her thoughts aside.
A rather foreign figure entered opened the door casually; entering the room. The man had short brown hair, and he appeared to be quite handsome. Wearing his coat in a rather loose manner, he wore a black shirt underneath, and black pants to match with the rest of his clothes. Along with him were two men in black, one wore sunglasses and was completely bald, the other seemed like a foreigner with short blond hair.
“That’s… Reo, right?” Shiraishi said, she had been in the academy for many years. So in the past, when she was very young, she’d rarely catch a glimpse of the ever popular male in the campus grounds.
”I wonder what he’s doing here” Ine whispered, thoughtfully. She too had seen Reo around, having been at the academy most of her life.
Shouta simply watched the men in silence. Their presence here was unsettling for him, but he couldn’t understand why. He prepared himself to pounce on one of them if they try anything suspicious.
“Oh? She’s here after all.”
“Well, I found her with my Alice, after all,” the bald man with sunglasses said.
“So, we find her at last - the Life-sucking Vampire.”
“Life-sucking… vampire? What are these guys on about? Why the hell are they here?”
“Shh…”
“She seems so harmless when she’s like this… ” the blond man with sky-blue eyes commented.
“She defeated many of our men before, you know.”
“Yes, I know.”
“Anyway, we’re taking her. You two know what to do now?”
