Shou entered into the dark room and barely recognized the hooded man. His hood was iconic, but with his hood down, it took a minute to verify that it was the same man Shou had been encountering. The man was unexpectedly young, but that did not make him any less dangerous. Beside the young man was Kouzaku Mitori, and lying on the floor next to her was a girl who wore a Tokiwadai uniform. She looked familiar, but he couldn't put his finger on who it could be. Nonetheless, Shou approached the group with a serious look on his face.
"Welcome to our temporary hideout~" Kouzaku Mitori greeted in a nonchalant manner, "It might be a bit too dark for your tastes, though," she added. "We hired a teleporter initially, but she had other stuff to do, so she's pretty unrelated to the plans of our boss that we'll be working to help him achieve," she explained, That old fart's crappy plans that I'll hopefully use to strike that Windowless Building down, that is.
"I see," Shou said monotonously, It looks like they needed some mobility in this group. Seeing as how Kouzaku Mitori wasn't unveiling more of the plan, it meant that they were still waiting for something so Shou stayed quiet for the time being.
I wonder who this next person will be, he thought as he looked around the room. Looking over whatever that girl was supposed to be he didn't figure her for much of a conversationalist. That didn't stop his mind from racing around, and trying to figure out his next move. Here he was in "protective" custody, being threatened at gun point, by some crazy hair monster. Yet he was calmer than he had been in a long time. Maybe it was because for the first time in a while he wasn't alone. Of course, before he had Maria, but that was only for missions. Thinking it over he wondered if he was really that dependent on people.
"So, I have a few things I need from my apartment," stated Sadao. He mainly wanted to move his money to a safer place. Since it would eventually be found by Judgement or some random Skill-Out who notices the place is vacant.
"Unfortunately you can't go out today," Mitori muttered in reply, looking down on her hostage who seemed to be somewhat conscious now.
Shou stood straight with his arms folded and remained calm and composed as he waited. He assumed that the girl needed to wake up before this 'meeting' got anywhere. More importantly, he wondered what sort of connection Kouzaku Mitori and the mysterious man had. The man was no doubt the man Shou had encountered multiple times, which made him wonder even more about this 'great plan' that Shou was being dragged into.
This plan doesn't look like it's going to be a passive one, Shou thought to himself, And that's fine by me.
"Darn, looks like princess is waking up," said Sadao stretching his neck.
Slightly opening her eyes, Sana wasn't sure what transpired when she was unconscious. As she gradually regained her vision, she opened her eyes; still feeling dizzy. She wasn't sure where she was, nor she knew what was going on, as she tried getting up, but she realized she couldn't move properly. "What's going on?! Why can' t I move!" Sana panicked as her vision was slowly coming back to her. She could see three figures in front of her, but she couldn't tell who they were.
"It's called being restrained princess," said Sadao crouching down. The doll was a piece of work. It looked like it was made of easily moveable liquid, but it was as strong as the metal it was formed of.
"You're going to be my hostage, I hope you behave just like one!" Kouzaku Mitori remarked, looking down at Minase Sana, whose arms and legs were tied with the elastic long white strands of hair from her alien-like figure.
Sana became angry at herself, she couldn't believe she that became a hostage yet again. After all the time she had spent in this city, believing she was finally strong enough to never allow similar tragedies to take place, ever again, Damn it!! What have I been doing this whole time, if I can't even save myself, how can I even expect to protect Tamaki?! Sana internally thought in a fit of rage; cursing herself for her own weakness, "What to you expect to get from using me anyway?"
"That's not something I can tell," Mitori answered in a matter-of-fact tone, revealing Gensei's orders would only cause trouble. Her attempts were easily figured when she once betrayed Kihara Gensei, the old man was as cunning as ever. She couldn't underestimate him, "You're only here so that I can lure specific targets, so don't do anything that might make me harm you. You're no guest of honor here!" she cheerfully announced, taunting Minase Sana to try to fight back or try to run away, she'd then get an excuse to be rough with her.
Sana thought it'd be best if she did nothing at the moment, she hadn't a clue who or how strong these individuals are, Guess I better wait till I'm alone here with one of them, Sana looked around the room; analyzing the location in which she found herself in, she may learn where she ended up in, Though... what is this thing made of? It feels really strange, she had never seen such an ominous looking human-figured thing, "Well, can I at least know how long I been here."
"You were bought here yesterday evening," Mitori answered yet again in her indifferent tone.
"Well now that the miss is awake, are we waiting on anyone else?" Shou broke the silence that formed while still standing serious and composed with his arms folded and looking directly at Mitori for an answer. He knew he was no position to be asking for answers, but at the rate things were going, it was quite possible Mitori was simply the type to wait for someone to ask.
"Well, I have a question, can you teleport people," Mitori gleefully asked, this could turn into something really fun, she felt.
Shou considered weighing his options on how he responded for a bit, but those thoughts didn't last long. If they knew more about him and he lied, things could go south for him very quickly. "Put simply, yes. But, it requires some set up with my pins or any other reference points. And I can only teleport one person at a time. Though, since I'm a multi-point user, so long as I have it set up, the process can be extremely fast," Shou explained carefully.
"Then your first task is pretty clear," Mitori said, feeling slight relief, "You're to kidnap a girl from Tokiwadai Middle School," she fumed, looking at her hostage, "She's really short and looks child-like, it might be a bit troublesome since she's the room mate of the Queen of Tokiwadai."
I didn't exactly expect to be kidnapping little kids. What the hell is this group up to? It sounded a bit mundane, but then Shou fully realized what Mitori actually said. "What in the- Do you seriously expect me to kidnap someone that is very likely under the protection or even control of the level 5 - Mental Out? I'm assuming there's some sort of plan?" Shou asked almost bewildered at Mitori who just nonchalantly mentioned getting past a level 5.
"Mnm? What are you so scared about? That bitch is always wandering about with her clique members, use that opportunity and it should be fine," Mitori answered in a non-caring manner, "Like when she's left alone in the room on the dorms, or something~" she then sighed, "Or do you want to be in the prison instead?"
This girl... she's serious, Shou thought Mitori was insane. Perhaps it was simply his lack of experience in the field, but it was common knowledge, at least to the vast majority of people that messing with level 5s meant bad news. Given the situation though, it didn't matter what Shou thought; Mitori was serious about his mission. After a moment, Shou answered Fine. I'll have it done. All I need to do is get her here right?"
"Yup!" she gave a cute smile, "Don't die early now~!"
"So be it," Shou answered slightly spitefully as he turned his back on the group of people and began walking out. Not that I had a choice in the matter anyways. Though more importantly, I wonder what a little girl has to do with this 'amazing' plan. Shou scoffed at the idea and at himself. Even he could tell that he was going down a dark path, but for some reason, that idea didn't bother him nearly as much as he thought.
Sadao kept to his corner of the room during their conversation. He didn't want to start something with Shou, and given their history it might come to blows rather quickly. Shou didn't seem like the type of person to be in this kind of business. But he was handling it easier than he thought. Perhaps they started off on the wrong foot, and this was the start of a prosperous relationship.
"So he is off to kidnap some kid, huh? That has to be tough. I've never liked dealing with kids. Yesterday one tried to block my path, I was doing her a favor just moving her out of the way. You ever have to deal with kids before?" he asked Mitori with a slight chuckle.
Upon hearing the man mentioning 'pushing a kid yesterday', it instantly caught Sana's interest ,she wasn't sure if it was him, or was just a coincidence, Could this be... the same person from yesterday?! Sana took a closer at the person who spoke, he did seemed quite similar, given his outfit, but she wasn't completely sure if it was him.
"Kids are a pain, honestly, they're so ill-mannered, it's a plague," Mitori commented, her indifferent expression held no change and she was still smiling, one would wonder just how she maintained that calm air around her, "But the kid Tsubame Shou is to kidnap is only childish and looks very young because of the passive effect of her ability. She's a subject of great interest."
"Oh? That must be a cruddy side-effect. I would hate to be stuck as a kid forever." answered Sadao. "But I suppose that if she has the power to back it up it isn't a problem. The kid I dealt with wasn't anything special. Looked like someone lost track of their kid. I'll give her props for effort though. If that teleporter wasn't there I bet she wouldn't have been as brave though." responded Sadao.
"From what I heard, it slows down physical and mental growth, the mental growth being slowed down is the root of the problems around that old man's plans. There are theories that her power slows down age to an extent that she'll most likely die before she even becomes an old lady with gray hair, but others argues that she'd simply live longer than most."
"You would think she would live longer that way. Unless her organs decay at the same rate or something?" Sadao asked. He was probably thinking more into this than he needed, but waiting around was boring.
"No idea, honestly. But the objective is to re-create that physical growth, it'd be their cheaper method of keeping important people alive slightly longer, if needed. We already have a certain someone on this city who has eternal youth, although I have no idea if she's immortal or something."
Upon hearing more of what the male youth was saying, Sana couldn't just stay still and listen anymore, rage and anger built up, sparks of electricity that were visibly being conjured over her bangs made this evident, "You bastard! So it was you who did that to Tama-chan!!" she shouted from the bottom of her lungs with pure killer's intent, as she couldn't hold her hatred any longer, a bolt of electricity was sent towards where Sadao stood.
Before Sadao could even start to say something, the girl attacked him with her power. Hitting him in the chest. Pushing him back into a wall, he bounced off it and landed on the floor. His muscles were in pain and breathing was definitely harder.
"N-nice shot... " he choked out. He didn't even have a moment to try and build up his defenses. Punching the ground, he slowly tried to ease himself back up. She mentioned a name before she attacked him. Tama-chan? he thought. Was he supposed to know this person? Whether he knew this person or not, this girl was looking for a fight. But in her current state she was not going to be able to fight properly.
"Let her go," he said. "I'm not to fight someone restrained."
"Are you sure about this? I won't be held responsible if she manages to escape, you know," Mitori warned, a smirk surfaced.
Sadao thought for a moment. He wasn't usually like this. He was cool-headed for the most part, but something in him just wanted to hit something. Not some punching bag but something with a pulse. "Yeah, I'll take responsibility," he answered, taking his fighting stance, and coating his knuckles and feet with nitrogen. His ability allowed him to coat a few parts of his body with nitrogen, extracted from the atmosphere around him, so that his attacks are packed with more impact.
"Very well then, this might be a fun show," Mitori remarked, the white-liquid-metallic-strands of hair from her clone slowly moved away; granting temporary freedom to the previously-restrained Sana.
"Seeing as you made the first move, I guess it's my turn now..." Sadao said, taking a few quick and light jumps to loosen up his body. He still felt the tingling numbness from the shock; the aftermath of his opponent's surprise attack, but he needed to make a move now regardless of his state. Putting a strong foot forward, he charged towards her, keeping his body tucked in. His initial plan was to give her a strong punch after his target - the female electromaster came into his range - as his fists and legs were covered in nitrogen, his speed and fists had a boost of performance. He intended to close the distance through sprinting.
His muscles however weren't responding the way they should; still slightly immobilized. Feeling that his muscles may give out if he kept up his reckless run - throwing all he had into a leap and jumping forward towards her for a tackle - was the best idea he conjured via thoughts that popped up in his mind in the situation. After all, quick thinking was the key to victory. Sadly, his leg gave out on him, and he went crashing to the ground. It was an embarrassing display of his capabilities, Dammit! That hit must've took more outta me than I thought!' he angrily commented mentally. Laying on the ground, he was reminded of a certain incident from his past.
"I just can't help but be haunted by you electromasters, eh?" he said laughing to himself, shoving aside his petty thoughts derived from his personal history.
"You brought this upon yourself!" strands of electricity sparked under Sana's bangs, foreshadowing her next move, "Now, I'll show you an even greater pain than what you've caused to my little sister," she declared in a tone lacking mercy, her unjust anger had allowed her to be devoid of hesitation, she had every intention of hurting him - to the point of taking his very life. The charging-up of electricity under her bangs reached it's climax, as another bolt of electricity formed; lighting up the environment. Seeing as how her enemy was on the ground now, Sana felt that this was the perfect opportunity to fry him out on the floor; the ball of lightning was launched towards her adversary.
Her enemy on the other hand, felt a chill down his spine, the static, the continuous ear-screeching noises, combined with her speech made it evident that her next move was about to be made, he protected as much as he could with his nitrogen coating. An explosive, eardrum-shattering sound occurred. Mitori abruptly closed her eyes, only to open it the next second to find Sadao relatively unharmed. Sadao was able to absorb most of it, to the point that the attack didn't do much, he dismissed whatever he felt, as it didn't render his capabilities. Standing up, he moved his nitrogen coating back to its offensive position - back to his hands and feet.
"You know what I did to the first one?" he questioned, a cold smirk stretched wide. "I bashed his head in with an old pipe, I did the same for all his friends, too. But like you said... they brought it upon themselves!" Knowing that if he didn't act fast, she'd fire another shot of a thunder shock again, to prevent this, he took off for her again with a dash. This time, he wouldn't bother trying to drag this out - he was going to go straight for that pretty face of hers.
Sana witnessed her male opponent charging to her direction yet again, her eyes shifted towards the back of her head; coming to a realization. She then jumped backwards, an electrical trail was given out from under her shoes, as she run up the pillar with electromagnetism - almost as if she had the legs of an insect - she defied the laws of gravity, it was the same trick that Misaka Mikoto - the third level 5 of Academy City employed quite often. However, her opponent didn't seem to be much surprised, he still came charging. This bewildered Sana, she was well over his range, what could he possibly pull? Just as the thought passed by, Sadao punched the pillar with all he had. His hand damaged it enough to create a small crater on it; creating a tremor that made Sana tumble her feet over - making her lose balance - she fell What kind of power is this?! Did he hit Tamaki with this much force?!!
Not dwelling in her thought for long, Sana's foot tapped into the punched-pillar and launched herself into a different direction, feeling danger from the person who was capable punching forth immense force. Electric trails could be seen behind her shoes yet again, as she landed vertically on a different pillar; effectively switching her location, at the same time, gaining more distance, "Just what are you?!!" she shouted in frustration, her eyes frantically looked around to analyze the scene. There was no way she could keep this up, one hit and she'd most likely be down like a bird being sniped down. This wasn't just any game, it was a game of life and death. Her line of sight couldn't pick up anything that seemed like an actual exit from this odd cage she was brought into.
"You're really starting to get on my nerves with that jumping around. You started this fight didn't you?!" Sadao made an attempt to taunt her, as he looked around floor. Picking up a pipe that randomly laid around the floor, he threw it at her, trying to knock her down.
"Are you stupid or something, do you really think something like that would hit me?" Sana coolly asked as the pipe stopped moving towards her mid-way, and floated in the air.
"So this is the extent of your power?" he received insight on how her power worked, looking at how she caught the pipe with her electromagnetism. Readying himself with his offensive stance, he waited for her to make the first move.
"I guess I'll have to show you what I can do!!" she then concentrated to put her electromagnetism to use once again, depending on her range, she could take control over three bigger pipes from under her line of sight, then launched them straight to the direction where her opponent stood, anticipating her move.
Sadao could see the pipes flying his way at an amazing speed, he frantically decided to dodge, but before he moved, he realized that she lost control of what made out to be extensions of herself, as the large pipe lines fell and clattered in the floor; a laughable sight. Taking this chance, he ran straight towards the pillar her foot laid over, attempting to run up to her. His current objective was to somehow bring her down - from the pedestal high-up from which she looked down on him from - to the earth; his domain.
However, still feeling fear regarding his dangerously brash and straight-forward attacks, she had no intention to make things easy for him, and jumped off to another pillar, leaving traces of sparks from her feet yet again, however, even she knew that victory wasn't something that could be achieved by simply jumping from one place to the other. A tactical retreat was the most alluring option than taking revenge for her little sister, he was too dangerous for an opponent to take on. She mindlessly ran and jumped on towards a light she saw afar; hoping that it was an exit to this bizarre place that she was brought to, due to her twisted and unlucky fate. Then again, no one payed any regards to fate in Academy City, the city that had long-forgone luck, fate, and destiny under the banner of science. However, this critical situation rendered her thinking process void of those scientific beliefs, temporarily.
As she jumped over to the next wall, Sadao whipped out his gun, firing it into the air, giving a sigh, "I'm tired of this cat and mouse game... I didn't have you freed just so you can run around. Come finish what you started!" he threatened out loud.
Hearing the gunshot, Sana's heart almost skipped a beat in fear of being shot dead, she instantly looked back, and witnessed his gun held towards the top, he most likely shot it up to the air, as a sign of warning. She now had to be really careful, her life was truly on the line now, although it had been for some time now, but she wanted to shook her head and deny it strongly, however, the cold and harsh truth never changes, regardless of one's relentless denials, "Fine! Then I'll show you a little trick of mine!!" she announced, stopping her reckless attempts of running away. Her electromagnetism was triggered yet again as three large pipes were once again seen afloat the air, sparks of electricity could be seen fluttering about, under her bangs. Two of the pipes were abruptly tossed towards Sadao. Sadao had seen such a move once already, so he braced himself. However, he was rather taken aback to see that the pipes started to circle around him, slowly releasing static electricity; sparks could be seen, the pipes themselves shined in faint blue light - brightening up the environment once again.
Mitori smiled, this was a good show indeed. Lots of lighting, lots of breaking and crashing, just the kind of party any member of the dark side of the Academy City would enjoy. She truly wished that more destructive people in this city could take birth. She cracked a smile, "Can this guy really handle that Tokiwadai girl?" she thought, a mirthful surfaced on her facial features.
On the other hand, Sana's knees started to ache, signalling her lack of warm-up exercises for the task she had to complete - defeating her opponent who harmed her little sister. This caused an unintended breach to her contact with her large pipes, as they fell flat on her floor, causing yet another failure. Her body was most likely not responding properly to the commands sent by her brain, because she slept too much after she was taken hostage; she was at a disadvantage. Sana nimbly hid herself behind a pillar close-by, a product of her quick thinking.
Witnessing her attempt at hitting Sadao with whatever plan she made, which she somehow messed up on, he took a shot towards her leg, trying to impede her mobility. Seeing her wince as his bullet grazed by her left leg, he cursed under his breath. Taking the initiative to dash after her, he tried to get a better position to take another shot, he also tried to be as quiet as possible so that she wouldn't know what direction he was coming from.
Sana could slowly feel pain burning up from her left leg due to the bullet, she knew that she felt determined to end this now, somehow. In desperation, she used her electromagnetism once again to pull more pipes - as much as possible - from nearby, then sent them towards him - the person who intended to come to her to put an end to the show that Mitori gave an indifferent smile towards. Sadao noticed the barrage poles coming at him from almost all directions, it was too late for him to avoid her attack fully. He tried to dodge them, but was knocked him back and forth. His only option was to try and mitigate some of the damage. Protecting what he could, he still came up short and took some damage to his chest and stomach. The damages were most likely hard enough to leave some bruises, but not enough to break a bone, We couldn't have picked a better place to take you, huh? he thought, trying to figure a way to get at her.
"I got you now!" Sana said, Sadao could see light from behind a certain pillar, his eyes widened in realization; an electric bolt was most likely about to be sent to him, he cringed. Meanwhile, a white substance was forming behind Sana, all the way down the pillar, while Sana was busy charging up her electrical powers for her finishing move - the repeatedly used bolt of lightning - the forming object seemed like a strange and bizarre liquid imitation of Mitori, who was so fond of creating via her esper ability. It's tentacle-like strands of hair silently, yet speedily reached up - to the Tokiwadai student who stood high up on a pillar vertically to hide herself - and caught Sana's body from behind, and gave her an abrupt pull, all the way down; forcefully having her back bashing against the cold, dusty yet solid floor, Mitori's ghastly clone then slowly took it's humanoid shape, then proceeded to forming a gun under it's palms - aiming at Sana's face directly, signalling the end of the show. "That's as far as this little game of tag goes~! I guess we know who won that one, yes, Sadao?" Mitori spoke in her nonchalant tone of speaking, there was a hint of disappointment in it, "I guess it's all about levels in the end, eh? Good things must come to an end, unfortunately," she sarcastically spat.
Sana had no idea what just happened; her mind couldn't process regarding what suddenly transpired, as she found herself on the ground, with her body hurting all over, as if she got rammed into something. She was barely able to keep her consciousness from that sudden fall - she groaned in excruciating pain from the forced fall.
The metal pipes which pained him clattered down to the floor, as Sana's influence over them disappeared. Looking up, he saw the familiar clone, and groaned. "Stop interrupting things! I almost had her, if not for you!" he shouted in frustration. He never even got to hit her once with the fists he was so proud of.
"I ain't taking orders from you, you know," as Mitori said so, her clone used the strands of it's hair to slowly yet swiftly choke Sana. The force with which she was being strangled was not enough to kill her, but enough to take away her consciousness. It's been almost an hour since Sana woke up, but her consciousness was yet again taken away from her.
"Eh... whatever. I'll get another chance" he said, holstering his gun. "By that time, my power should improve..." he said under his breath as he clenched his fist.
GM Notes:
There had been numerous amounts of dice rolls for almost every attempts in the scenarios above. Simply put, I'm being lazy to write details about every dice results, the attempts and results from the looks of things should make it clear how things went with the dice, I hope.
In other words, I'm being lazy.
