@Shiori: what other forums? I haven't seen much activity in any other part of FAKKU! except Random and IB. I don't believe that all trolling should be put the boot on, but again, not all trolling should be accepted either as appropriate.
@Sindalf: When I go onto IRC, it's usually because I'm looking for a specific person to talk to, which I noted he wasn't there. If you want me in IRC, I'll be there.
@ImperialX: regardless of your lack of will, your post kinda opened my eyes to what people used to expect from FAKKU!, which I totally forgot. You're right though, FAKKU! used to be a friendly and dignified place... but at the rate we're going, it's slowly turning to 4chan crap.
Fighting the good fight is something I do very well... but lately it's sapping my motivation as well.
@Ramsus: I know, I know. Waar told me the same thing... I just gotta cool off my jets every so often. I used to be a lot more civil, I definitely used to. I also think it's because I'm fighting a fight that can't be won that I'm letting the drama get to me... and the fact that I need to stay out of IB and Random more often now.

@Sindalf: that has got to be the most immature argument I've heard. So according to you, if none of us bothers to "bitch" about the problems in the open, who will know that there were problems to begin with? Problem solved my ass - we'll just let things go as they were... which is getting worse.
And I as I said before, most likely the solution will come in form of heavier modding. Other than that, most if not all problems are impossible to solve. I don't even care if there isn't any solution or action from the administrative staff - just them being aware of the community's opinion and concerns will give them food for thought, which is better than nothing.

I break FAKKU! down into three generations: 07,08, and 09. 07 users are the truest and oldest of oldfags. Problem is, there aren't many, or any if at that, left. So then it falls onto the next generation, us the 08, to be the guiding oldfags of the forums. I definitely noticed a downward trend in user attitudes after 08... ah well.

Plus people who are being accussed of trolling when they are just teasing - and even if they were trolling or are just accussed of it the entire thread turns into a complaint about trolling and who is and isn't a troll.New people are going to always join a forum, they bring life to a forum. It is up to the leaders and elders of a forum to set the tone for a forum, and if the tone is changing for the worst then part of that blame lies on the older members of the forum.
Half the problem I see is that FAKKU! lets go of many trolling instances and it's almost become a standard for people to troll just to get laughs around. I look down on this, but the community says otherwise. Spam/trolling shouldn't be tolerated to the extent that FAKKU! does, but again, most people would probably disagree with me on that point. My sticking point is that even if trolling brings the "lulz", it doesn't mean it is appropriate.
As for the elder bit, it's true that we should be setting a better example for everyone else, but unfortunately we can only do so much, especially when us elders and elites have the tendency to fight AMONGST ourselves. I created a satire rep thread in direct response to another thread since I knew it was a frowned-upon action. I got the positive feedback, but also I got a shitload of heat and drama because some people didn't get or appreciate my points. I'm trying to do my part in setting what's good forum netiquette and what isn't in particular to FAKKU!, but I can only do so much and with limited support. Hell, half the time I look like a white crusader trying to enforce his view points on how to run FAKKU! - I probably do, can't deny that. But I do it in the best interests of FAKKU!, and it's not just me - many other users have been trying to do things for the greater good of FAKKU! only to be turned in by members of the same damn community - there used to be a camadarie between FAKKU! members, but it's kinda been waylaid and put to the side next to our egos and prejudices. Honestly, if any changes are going to be implemented, it'll come from the administrative staff and heavier modding.
Another couple of things to note is that most user activity occurs in two sections: Random and IB, and IB moreso than any other section. I mentioned it before, and I'll mention it again; I think it's a sad, sad fact that so much activity occurs in IB, but it's like that in any forum I think. I also heard from others that User Uploads section is still falling under attack by flaggers... another problem in making this site too loosely run because there are always idiots and fags who try to take advantage of the system and ruin it for everyone else.
The oldfags of my 08 generation and older are getting fewer and fewer. Almost all of the 07 generation are gone, and the 08 generation is dying out. 09 came, and we have people who post irrelevant, uninteresting, dumb, and whatever-kind-of-adjective-I-can-think-of threads/posts, as well as an increase in trolls, faggots, flaggers, and overall hostility and stupidity. I don't have a solution for this, and I don't think anyone will either other than something coming from the top, but even so that's a superficial fix that doesn't solve the underlying problems. It's a much sadder reality we live in, but unfortunately that's how reality works.
edit: Another problem is that nobody listens to each other, or bother commenting on someone else's opinion and plow ahead with his or her own opinion.
We've always heard stories about how wild the cities are in NY, but I've heard things just as wild down in TX, like having the right to blast someone on your property with a pump-shotgun and get away with it.
I was under the impression that people from NY and TX were equally tough.
From New Jersey... nothing too special about that, except when the shit hits the fan, as it always does in NY, the shit goes to NJ. GTFO out of my state.

Actually, the class I had the most lulz in was my spanish class. The teacher was hot, and we were a ridiculous bunch. I remember there was an Arab and Jewish kid in my class and they were always making jokes that were so politically incorrect. We had to do a project together and my arab friend said "Andy (jew) tell were you live so we can do this project" and Andy said really loudly "No! I'm not telling you were I live! You'll car bomb me!"Other time Andy (jewish dude) threw a paper plane across the class and hit Tamar (Arab). Tamar shouted out "AH! Israeli Air Strike!!!"
That was fucking funny.
My art professor said that he was going to pick it up from his friend and finish it over the next two weeks. He'll give me his opinion then, but I can already tell that the book is full of win. The same guy took another of Jane Austen's work and added "Sea Monsters" to it as well.
@TMS: you remind me of a Tank from Left 4 Dead, being muscular and covered in a sheen of sweat... but with the difference of not being dead.

The more you complain about it, the more you're going to lose. That's just the law of netverse. Just take it as it is - a fun competition.

all this recent drama going on with Fakku now it just pisses me off too much. The forums ain't what it used to be sadlyQtf. I don't think the forums will go back to what it used to be; we can only hope.
Well, like the others before me, go do what you need to do, but remember that FAKKU! will always be your home, like it is for me countless of times.
