I like this satire on the whole men-rule-women's-health-issues-debates.

- Mistakes happen. The only thing you can do with them is learn.

Pretty much correct. As in "you can abort, but first we'll rape you with this object, no matter if you say no". And yes, as the FBI (FINALLY, after 50+ years of being asked to) changed the legal definition of rape to include both sexes, any orifice, and object rape, this IS rape.

We're not talking visible images of embryos that expecting parents get printed out and figure out the child's sex from. We're talking a blob of cells.

When in fact it may not even be that far along or developed. And studies have shown that even when forced to view an ultrasound image of their uterus, most women STILL go along with it. Seriously, if you've set your mind against having an unwanted pregnancy, there's a REASON, and not one easily changed.

I JUST went to see Arrietty in theaters. Yes, dumb ol' Disney shows their logo first, but then the big blue screen of Studio Ghibli's logo came on. Followed by accurate, English-translated credits for all the people who worked on the film.

They don't "hide" or take credit for the work. Yeah, some idiots who take everything at face value may assume that due to the fact they "presented" the film, they own it somehow, but that's just not the case.

John Lasseter and Miyazaki are even FRIENDS. He got a damn Catbus for his wall!

Never have, never will. Ghibli still profits from its overseas theatrical releases.

Studio Ghibli and Eisner John Lasseter teamed up long ago to bring the films over here and to other countries outside Japan.

Honestly, yes, it pisses me off too, to see the Disney logo emblazoned on all things Ghibli when they're in theaters, but without Disney's wide reach and funds, a lot of the studio's films would not be seen by many.

If you buy the Japanese version legitimately, so be it, but understand that buying an official Disney-sanctioned release does just as much good.

MILLIONS of companies do similar things to this. How do you think we get foreign films shown anywhere but their home country? International distributors.

I agree on that. We can't allow just the Onion or comedians to crack race and sex jokes but prohibit common people from it, but at the same time it's so hard to find that fine line where the people being joked about start to laugh and not frown...

I don't wanna threadjack (just PM me the answer I guess) but would any car audio folks know the answer to this?
I've been having a problem with my multi-CD stereo for years: after years of functioning, and proper use (I never stuff CDs in there, always wait for the loading signal, etc.), it began to malfunction and refuse to eject discs any longer.
For a while, my dad and I used to fix this issue by merely pulling and reinserting the stereo's fuse from its location under the hood while the car was on, and this worked pretty well for a few years after the issue started.

Then two years ago, it stopped working completely, and the usual "fix" of adjusting the fuse doesn't do anything; I just get an error reading when the stereo tries to start up. The radio, tape deck, and all work fine, but CD player is shot as I can't change or eject discs.

I don't give a damn about the player working anymore (as clearly it's too faulty and old to work), but how would I get my damn CDs out?
My fave six are in there, some rare and a pain to buy again if I can't get them out, and I never downloaded them to my computer stupidly... what can I do to free them, or do I need to pay a hefty fee to some technician to have them taken out (while not ruining the entire sound system/the car)? I've got a Toyota Landcruiser.

Indeed. My personal favorite was one senator's response to the idiocy: if we're saying sperm and eggs separately are people too (essentially, this "personhood" bullshit believes this!), so she wants to pass a bill to make cumming anywhere but into a vagina constitute manslaughter.

The genius of this bill lies in the fact that even the most stuck-up Repubs (and more than that, male and perhaps female VOTERS!) would never pass it. But if personhood-shit passed, they'd HAVE to consider how stupid a decision it was then!
