I'd argue that platonic male-female relationships can exist.
I have a ton of em. Maybe it's more of a "guy thing" to think they're impossible, but I know plenty of women and a few men who would agree with me that they don't see their opposite-sex friends in any sexual way.

You don't need to go out clubbing or be invited to "parties" to meet people, just saying. I get annoyed hearing people say that with their high school mentality.

Yeah, you can't rush it. I felt it always come when you are the least expected. It also depends on how desperate you are and your standards. Some girls would just go out with any guys. I really don't think is anything good.

Pick up some new hobbies, and follow them to other clubs and activities. Go do things outside of what you'd usually do. Explore new avenues of entertainment or art. Had a bf for two years at my last college, then transferred as a junior (we broke up for distance, among other things... better as friends now again) to my current college. Where my social circles are limited, nerdy, and for a majority, younger than I.
Because I don't know a ton of guys my age (and I'd rather not date teenagers... ugh) and none of my clubs/academics introduce me to them, and I'm not invited to parties... ever... I haven't had a damn date since then.
I'm not into "hookups" but I'd consider some sort of ongoing thing with one guy at this point tbh.
Yes, I'm not in the best shape or the most gorgeous, but I'm okay with that. However, my interest sometimes group me as "one of the guys" and I dress for the weather, not to freeze to death in a miniskirt.
People here (and elsewhere) are always like OH COOL A GIRL WHO IS PERVY AND LOVES THE STUFF I DO! but irl that is not winning me any affections.

Last semester of college right now, would like to be back in a relationship and get my freak on, but no venues to do so and trouble finding suitable suitors as I don't know a ton of dudes. At this point I will consider a more casual relationship (because clearly not gonna find true love or some bs atm), but even meeting dudes has proved hard.
