Question now is, what was the reason for them to start firing just now? To provoke the South? In conclusion, yes.
There was a military exercise going on around that island, and the North were 'irritated' by it and apparently felt threatened. They sent a warning letter to the South Korean ship, but without receiving any respond to that letter, they started the artillery fires.
So doesn't that place the blame on the South for not responding?
South Korea is responding in the most peaceful way. They did respond, but without violence.
No, what i meant was, like you said, the North sent a letter telling them to stop the exercise, but the South ignored the letter? So they only have themselves to blame?
South Korea was not given the time to either respond to the letter, or to stop the exercise.

lol no.South Korea and North Korea are just wee chibi sized versions of China and USA.
No. South Korea will not go bankrupt economically without North Korea and vice versa. Therefore your point is invalid.

Nothing will happen. The US economy would go bankrupt without China and vice versa. It's not in any anyones interest to go to war. All North Korea is doing is trying to put on a facade that they have some sort of hold or power on the international stage.
North Korea, trolling the world since 1950.
I agree that both US and China will not do anything, but nothing can be sure with The North and South Korea. The tension is increasing dramatically.

It's funny how their is all these predictions that world war 3 is to start in November and end in 2014. It's kinda creepy but at the same time nothing is official yet and if December hits and world war 3 has not started then we can be sure it is BS.No. No one can be sure that a war will or will not happen, but just believe in it.

I disagree entirely. Technically, North and South Korea are still at war, and with tensions rising this war has a very good chance of becoming hot again. With the sinking of the South Korean warship, and now this... It's only a matter of time until South Korea retaliates.
No. South Korea will always try for the peaceful solution.
There has been many issues like this. Ex: Secret underground tunnels with evidence of recent North Korean military activities found.
But the South has never acted out in violence and never will.

They said "Whoever provokes us and attacks us will receive unjust violence from North Korea. That is our cultural way of treating the ones who provoke us. EVERYONE should have listened to our warning."
They also threatened, "If anyone invades the North Korean territory even by 0.001mm, we will ignore the rules and continue to attack with full military force"

Not happening. Shouldn't happen. Because if it does, then it's going to be a World War 3.
South Korea is allies with US, Canada, and other countries.
North Korea is with China. They used to be with Russia but due to them violating the terms of agreement for allied relationship, they're no longer in the agreement.
