would be far too hard to learn on my own and don't think that there are many places(schools) that teach it here...
I self studied for 3 years before actually getting into a proper course. At least now I can stroll the VNs that's not "Heavy Kanji oriented". Like I said in another thread, playing using ATLAS helps, because in those 3 years of self study, I forced myself to play Japanese Vns with ATLAS and AGTH.
do you mind if i ask for how many hours a day or a week did you study it?
also where did you start from(what books/program)? just asking for the future :P
Probably not one of the most efficient way of learning, but it works for me:
-Started in 10 grade High school.
-I never really counted how long, but at first it was just repetitive writing hiragana and katakana when I have spare time.
-Then just force feed myself to play ANY untranslated VNs with ATLAS and AGTH, to help me memorize vocabularies with the kanji. In the process I memorized many "common Kanji" that's used in VNs.
-When I "meet" a new kanji, go look it up with Kanji dictionary (you have the internet now).
-rinse and repeat by playing more VNs for 3 years.
BTW, here's the
List of the VN's I mostly played in those 3 Years.
I don't use any specific books or programs, since I don't have many pocket money or internet. I Just started with beginner's writing book and a kanji dictionary.
Important
1. Never say learning is hard or time-wasting. Set your mind as "investing"
2. Never give up
