Translated dialogue seems to convey the suggestion that 'Husbando-kun' deserves what he's getting for openly cheating on his wife. At the same time, he's portrayed as ignorant of the fact that his co-worker and friend who carries his drunk-as-skunk ass home (perhaps most of the time) is (*cough-cough*) giving Chisa-san the satisfaction she should instead be getting from her husband. And by the end, it seems she's gotten over the supposed moral dilemma of being faithful to her marriage, if her husband is not.
For all we know, it may be another case of "Art Imitating Life", where "... the names have been changed to protect the innocent".
