Maybe I just missed it, but has it been mentioned WHY the DDL links were removed? I'm not trying to be a douche about it, but I'm very curious what the reason was. I can imagine the reasons for the DDLs straight from Fakku, but I can't guess why the 3rd party DDL links were taken down too.

They violated our rules countless times. I also am not the one who perma banned either of them.

You're right, part of me dislikes a good portion of the user base, and the job I have to do(which someone has to do). Another part of me loves it, both the job and community. I love running the waifu game, and not just for the trolling potential. It's my job to make sure people don't fuck around and follow the rules, if you don't like the rules then try to have them changed. If my attitude is your issue then you're going to have to deal with it, I see no reason to stop doing things my way.

How am I the reason the community atmosphere is gone? Since the day chatroll/skype a team chat was created and the irc vs chatroll "war" started this site has been fractured, surely you don't blame me for that. So far all I've seen is "waar is oppressing me, fuck you waar." If you want things to change how about you tell me how things should change and how to change them. If your suggestion is I should step down you will be wasting your time.

I was thinking more along the lines of "doing something especially for the community" than making a hentai specifically.
Because, where's the difference between that manga and the artist that designed the F! mascots?
To be blunt there is not much difference between that hentai and the stick-figure comic that lollolloll12 made, or the one Antwon made. They are all comics based on, and done for, the userbase to enjoy in one way or another.

And how often did shit like that actually happen? And doesn't it happen nowadays?

I don't see the difference in that and users lifting up something someone else, or themselves have done, and getting credit for it.

Admins are busier than ever with real life endeavours, original content is still being created - look at Antw0n's comic strips, Momoka artwork, cosplayers.

Honestly, the doujin was a one-off, and our art forums aren't exactly flourishing; there isn't much to draw people in over other big sites. If you feel that the community isn't being brought together effectively enough, try to remedy it yourself.

I can see what you mean, there is very little sense of community here, but not much less than it were three years ago.

Waar is not to blame for the lack of community, and especially not his work as a mod. I have never liked him, he's a total douche - very much like the rest of IB - but he is reliable and have a fairly good eye for what is utter crap, and what is not-equally-utter crap. While essentially a somewhat reliable monkey could do his job, - I doubt that keeping those sections clear is hard more than time-consuming - he is reliable. His attitude is something completely different, that's your personal problem.

The community, if there ever was one, (I doubt it) has not disappeared into nothing, however, the site has grown tremendously since 2008. People come and go, and it's never easy to accept new users into your own ranks, and that way your little clique of users that provided a 'sense of community' might have moved on. Or they simply blended into the ever-growing crowd of new users.

Fakku is like a society. We have the users, residents. The law, mods. And the president, admin(s).
The president helps with the structure (of the site, as well as perfecting the forum) and providing us (the residents) with (in this case) new and free hentai, and there's uploaders to help them. The rules are set by the president, to fit his as well as the majority of the residents comfort. And the law punishes those who disobey the rules.
The law keeps the residents in place (that's why we have rules), while giving them protection (against newfags). The law can't disobey the president.
The residents are here (in this case) for the free hentai and the forum. The forum is where they can talk about the good/bad things about the society as well about (in this case) hentai and anime/manga etc etc.

Well, this thread seems to have devolved into blaming Waar for the lack of community. But unless if everyone who left mentioned Waar as a reason, how can anyone know how much impact he did or didn't have?

I went under the consumption of your first post that he did his job poorly.
He is a global mod and IMO the best one at it, since I haven't seen Tegumi in action, but I obviously can't change your opinion and you can't change mine.

Just think about what I have written and Gren too, he isn't supposed to do it to make us happy, he's supposed to do it so we don't have a lot of trouble and problems around here.

Illumia came back, Waar banned the tard.
Ronnie got banned for spamming, Waar did that.
He also created an alt account and did the same thing, Waar banned that.

Now imagine IB and parts of the forum without Waar, there would be a lot of spam and almost nobody would do jack shit.

Waar does his job the way he's supposed to do it.

Raze/Mike is long gone, i have no idea where they are.
Matt is currently only banning underaged.
Tsujoi is here sometimes.....
Tegumi only visits SD and Art and Digital Graphics.
Gambler steps up when there's an issue, and occasionally moves a thread.
And finally Waar, he bans all the annoying newfags and he locks every stupid thread.

Some would, maybe even a lot of people. You're putting way too much trust into the userbase of Fakku.

EDIT: As Ryssen said, Waar is pretty much a janitor, a school that doesn't have a janitor eventually ends up looking like shit.

I'm defending Waar because I have not been wronged by him and I know what it's like to be hated for doing the job you're given.
That's great that Raze loved y'all and y'all loved him back, but I'm pretty sure Raze was long before my time here so I didn't experience any of that. I'm going off my own experiences from the past two and a half years.

You seem to be missing my point. The users don't have to love the mods. The mods just have to do their job and moderate the users. Raze was obviously an admin you liked, but you didn't have to like them. I can completely understand wanting more people like Raze, but not everybody has to be like Raze.

I'm just gonna quote Waar on this one;

He hasn't abandon us.. Yes he's a dick but overall he's a good mod.
Without him, Fakku would be a mess, maybe a better place but still a mess.
Every forum needs a dick (Waar) and one who reasons (Gambler).
