On a large desktop monitor I do indeed notice these lines, but never notice them did on a smaller screen like a tablet. It could be artifacts from the original raws used for the domestic manga, who knows.

There are more artists I can count with one hand that I'd want to see get prints like these. Can't wait for the next one.

That's a good idea and something I could see us doing in the future. Give everyone who has purchased all of the FAKKU releases, the first chance to pick up the limited item.

I'd just like to know if there's a way to update my account status as owning every physical fakku release if this first dibs thing becomes a thing. Of course I know i wouldn't get access to the digital versions regardless.

Cause I have purchased every book but from Amazon and rightstuff apart from Fakku. I could easily username/time stamp a photo with my collection all in one picture and I'm sure if i go through my emails i could find the needed evidence from the transactions as well..

I would hate to miss out on this first dibs type of deal just because i don't always purchase directly from Fakku.

I can't say I find the idea of first dibs to be all that agreeable. If a business stated they're doing a limited edition preorder whereby those who've paid will only be printed and shipped, then sure, I can see that happening because you prepaid to have your copy secured.

But what if there is already an existing limited stock? What then? I can't stand behind the idea of being partial to those who are already consumers over those who want to become one. Anyone who gets passed over would understandably get turned off from ever trying to spend their money at that business again.

The best solution I know of (so far) is to give everyone the equal opportunity to get a shot at buying a copy at different times of the day. Most people will free be at some point of the release date; and yes giving people ample notice ahead of time will help, too.

All in all, it's about maximizing everyone's chance of getting a copy.

Those are just my thoughts. I'm just grateful that a lot of effort had gone into even into bringing us these works in the first place. Can't wait for mines to arrive already! XD

Oda Non is definitely one of my favorites, can't wait to see the release. Gotta be patient... full color pages must be quite a bit of work to edit. ;)

I think there are also practical purposes to have an e-mail newsletter. Yes, relevant info are posted to the forums but there is something about getting an update via e-mail that makes it a bit more direct, like how Nintendo does their Direct videos containing the latest digest.

It can be about anything really, such as asking how readers are enjoying the latest works from their favorite artists or inviting them to participate on certain forum polls or posts.

I'm sure Jacob has thought about special content given that he's worked with saitom to bring a pretty cool limited set to the western world. If they haven't already there are probably plans relating to exclusive content as milestones are reached. Let FAKKU grow bigger! heh.

Not sure about the idea of giving first dibs to people who bought more stuff. Although I think I would qualify to that category, that seems much unfair to me.
I think what Fakku did this time was pretty fair, releasing in three batches. I don't know if it will be better or not, but maybe they can release in different time slots like once in the morning, once at night. and also maybe announce the time more store-wide like on the main page?

Yeah, I think the issue was more a matter of hour than days.
Afteral, putting the release at the same hour of two days will always leave those who work at this hour unable to order.
HOWEVER, there is also people who work at night so you can be sure someone WILL be working at any hour.

Sooooo...
Help from someone else? Someone you know will be able to order it and would not blush redder than a cherry at the idea of being paid to buy you porn could give you a hand. This is risky practice, and it will end up costing you more that buying it yourself. I don't advise it, but if you trust each other, sure, why not.

Why not make different batches for different times of the day then? Some in the morning, noon, and evening. Nobody has a 24h work day unless you're so committed to that sort of life you'd have no time for porn anyway.

I made a post on the saitom box topic suggesting this after people said they couldn't make the dates or didn't know.

It would be great to have an opt-in newsletter. I want to be kept informed of things like site changes, newly added content, new books or artists, merchandise, exclusive content (see point below).

The point is to keep people who want it be informed. As a publisher you'll reach more people and grow your business as more and more people sign up. I know I will, I want to be kept up to date. Plus if a limited release is properly announced 2-3 weeks early I can plan beforehand to be free.

Also, what if artists did works specifically for FAKKU? Maybe small chapter or doujin release but as the site grows there can be magazine/book releases? That would doubly entice me to get a newsletter :P

Anyway, what do you think? Thanks and keep it up!

Does FAKKU even have a newsletter? I know I'll sign up for one and anybody who chooses to opt-in are likely repeat buyers. It will also help avoid messy (though successful) limited release like saitom box because not everyone like myself visit the forum all that often and you will keep more people informed about anything: site changes, merchandise, new books, etc...

It's not a huge thing to add to the site but the benefits are significant. You guys are publishers now and get to deal directly with the artists. Just my 2-cents.
