Doujinshi has been a very low priority for us this year, because we've had to focus our resources elsewhere. Once we can get back to our doujinshi projects, the next installment in this series will be among them.

Added previews for Kairakuten BEAST and Shitsurakuten!

I can reassure you that we're not ignoring the results of this poll. The poll was created only a week before Anime Expo, and I don't think we planned on making any announcements related to it during the event. However, we managed to get a confirmation on the PANDRA license sooner than expected, and were able to reveal that during our industry panel. This was a last minute decision, which is why we didn't even have a forum post prepared for it.

My earlier statement still stands: we plan on publishing the winner of the poll and potentially some of the other titles. Once everyone is back and recovered from Anime Expo, you can expect a proper announcement for PANDRA, and hopefully more as long as the license is secured by then.

The magazine has not performed as well as we had hoped, so for the time being, we're focusing on our other magazines. We plan on getting to it eventually, but I don't expect that to happen for at least a month or two. Once we pick it up, we'll include it in the most recent monthly preview thread on this forum.

While I agree with some of the criticism in this thread, these are the books we have access to right now. I don't think it would be fair to exclude one title from the vote, especially seeing how it's currently the one in the lead with a good margin. I'm sure any future polls will be handled a bit differently based on what we learned from this, but think of this first one as mainly a way of gauging interest.

And keep in mind that this poll is for you to "decide what we publish next." We never stated that we'll only do the winner, and the entire result will be taken into account for future licensing decisions. We can't promise anything beyond the winner right now, but that doesn't mean it won't happen at some point.

We've added 5 magazines, and the actual release output has increased by about 65% compared to two years ago. Outside of the subscription service, we've also expanded the offering of book, doujin, merchandise, anime, and game content made available through the site. The reality is that pretty much every aspect of the site has grown a lot in recent years, but as always it's ultimately up to you to decide if it's worth it or not for you.

There's a big difference in the degree of censorship typically used in different forms of media.

The ultimate goal with manga is to put out a book, which uses bar censorship most commonly. The artist doesn't know where the bars will be placed, so it makes sense for them to draw the complete genitals, which makes this a non-issue for us when it comes to books. Games on the other hand often use mosaic, and there's little reason for the artist to spend time adding details to something that will be fully obscured in the final release.

Simply put, all we have to do for a manga release is turn off the censorship and we're good; with games you're often greeted with unfinished/rudimentary artwork under the censorship layer, which leads to the problems Kisuka described.

The fact that you already have other platforms shows the need for one that won't enforce censorship. If their only option so far was to censor their games, you can't blame them for only having censored assets at hands. The problem with older content is often that the unaltered artwork no longer exists, which is true for both games and manga. Preparing uncensored art for future release would in many cases not require any additional work, compared to redoing old artwork.

Again, we don't want to punish our partners retrospectively, but we'd expect something else for newer releases.

These games were made in an environment where they often didn't have any distribution channels that allowed uncensored art, so I don't think it's fair to punish the people behind the games by denying them access to the platform. Again, this is only the first step: by showing there's a demand for these games and building relations with various developers and publishers, they can prepare uncensored releases in the future.

FAKKU as a game distribution platform is a relatively new thing, so this is unfortunately to be expected. I imagine most developers make their games thinking they would never be uncensored, so they might not have any uncensored artwork. However, now that they know they have a platform that doesn't enforce any censorship, they can do things differently going forward.

One example of this is the artist isya. Their first few releases were censored because that's all they had, but they started drawing newer doujinshi uncensored knowing that they could put them up on FAKKU. I think you'll see a similar evolution for games.

Until we announce that we're no longer bringing the DLC, it's safe to assume that it's still in the works.

Purchases of FAKKU books from Amazon or any other distributor does not warrant the addition of the digital version of that title for free. The free digital version of a title from a physical book purchase is an exclusive deal through the FAKKU store site only.

I'm not opposed to that, and I think it's part of the formula that Jacob mentioned for popularity.


NTR is one of the most popular tags, but it's also a tag that many dislike, and that's what skews the results. A very mild vanilla chapter might get 400 5-star ratings, whereas an NTR chapter by the same artist could get 500 5-star and 200 1-star. The vanilla chapter is now a 5 and the NTR a 4. The point is this system doesn't elevate high quality content (which was the intended purpose), but instead punishes anything divisive.

As mentioned above, there are many kinda of rating systems, and any kind of constructive feedback is appreciated. However if you're asking for the ability give a rating to individual chapters, I don't think that would work out on Fakku.

Most other sites are based around piracy, which means the content comes from a myriad of sources. Anything from translation accuracy to image quality will vary from one gallery to another. This is not the case for us, and when you remove all these factors, the only thing left to rate is the content of the content, such as the themes, artwork, and stories. This for most parts comes down to taste, and will likely result in anything remotely questionable (such as NTR) getting down voted by a large group of users who are not interested in that particular fetish. The voting system on the forums sorta illustrates this issue, where it's more often the opinion/attitude and not the quality/usefulness of the post that's being rated.

Ultimately this leads to a system that doesn't reward the highest quality content, but the least objectionable content.
