Did you get that 'boiled beans' directly from the game? It could be a mistranslation. There are some differences between the translation in wiki and the translation in-game.

This is where I found the boiled soybeans (last line of the Feast Day paragraph). It could be a mistranslation. I only went by what they put in the Touhou-Wiki. If I were to go by actual historical accounts of the Setsubun festival, the correct answer would have been roasted soybeans.

2) It isn't dubious, it is true. In PMiSS, for the encyclopedia page for Fairies, it states that "Fairies don't actually need to eat, but they see the way humans enjoy their meals and copy them, eating the same things."
3) Either A or B are correct. In IaMP, Patchouli faces off against Suika and remembers that Oni are weak against Boiled Soybeans, but she doesn't have any on her at that time. In the events of SA, Yuugi states that she's weakened by Fried Beans.
