Playing æ·«é”ã®æ†‚鬱. At first I thought it was just another eroge, but the synopsis intrigued me and I gave it a whirl. It has an unexpectedly good story (though it feels like the writer's new to the VN style of writing) and cool setting.
That does sound ominous, though, I wouldn't be surprised that if the person simply traced the illustrations to save time. JKJK xD.
... Ugh. I see. Thanks for the clarification. Guess I'll wait until Age launches a real sequel to Muv Luv Alternative.
I see. I saw Total Eclipse in vndb and was wondering why it was never mentioned around here; last I checked it is a Visual Novel... Gonna download that. ^_^ Thanks1
Finished Dracu-Riot. What a waste of good setting with all the vampire stuff and Lycanthrope factor. This VN was one of the better Romance-themed stories, but could've been a lot better if they threw in a True End into the fray. Even in Miu's Route (Supposedly True End I guess) the protagonist barely managed to control his powers and as a result, was a lot weaker than his actual full potential (Not even sure if that was just the extent of it; when he lost control it was said that he could've destroyed an entier building with ease).
I had hopes that maybe Nicole's Route would offer a better story (Though I must say that all girls have quite the good storylines; Elina's and Miu's were my favorite), but in total contrast to my expectation it was the worst and shortest out of all. -_-"
Really really a total waste of good setting. I wanna see the Mayor fight at full strength, I wanna see the Mayor's assistant fight, I wanna see a real apocalypse and not the 99% diluted:
Stuff. This could've been so much better and satisfying. >_>
Ranting done, will talk about first impression on Rewrite. It was bad. The opening scene had looked really cool, but the 15 minutes of reading afterwards... not so much. In fact, not at all. It was a cluster of confusion where:
I dunno what you guys think about the scenes above, but I am utterly perplexed and unmotivated to continue because... seriously. WTF did I just read? Plus, the art style is really not to my liking.
Will continue it some other time; Key epics like Clannad is a huge motivator after all, but hopefully the confusion will clear up soon...

MUAHAHAHAHAHA I've surprised myself with my own intuition; I didn't expect it myself that I'll get the real murderer of Higurashi within the first chapter! AHAHAHAHAHAHA! Sure there are many minor details that I got wrong too but hell, THIS IS A GREAT FEELING!EDIT: GUYS GUYS! YOU CAN'T MISS THIS! It combines many, MANY famous tunes together to make an epic 10 minute violin solo; and the most incredible part is that I didn't actually expect to hear Higurashi's tune in this! I bet you guys can hear a lot more familiar tunes than me so, OMG man, you CAN'T miss this!

You were actually right about the murderer but no one wanted to spoil it for you lol
What are you thinking about Higurashi? Do you feel already enough regret for not reading it previously? =P
Erm, well, Subarashi no Hibiki still No.1! :P But yeah, this is a story that you would regret not reading about.
Not only that, the way it uses it's special effects and sounds are so simple and direct it makes me wonder why no current Visual Novels even try to do that. Higurashi tries to make things funny and light, and they don't even need a million fancy sounds. Not once I have gotten bored with its effects (though I must say that the background image was rendered very irrelevant - not really conveying the feeling that the characters were there).

Lol. I'm not sure you'd even notice the sex, though I will say that every single events that happened in there have a huge significance. This is not an eroge-emphasized story. Imagine Yume Kusuri (I don't remember the full name) if you're having trouble processing the idea. Besides, you could just skip past those parts if you want; though I'm pretty sure from your sentences that you have a weak stomach and probably couldn't stand the madness (not sex) prior to that scene anyway.
EDIT: OH MY GOD I CAN'T BELIEVE IT, the story itself is not the epic, IT'S THE FINAL ALL-CAST REVIEW AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Lol, I got it now. I think I understand who are the killers in Higurashi in the first three scenarios. Just tell me how many statements I got correct (and whether there's flaws in the statement) and that'll be fine.
The 'curse' element grows stronger with each scenario. By the end of the story I wonder how many people would change their minds to a much less realistic belief lol.

Well sure, it's in the spoiler box inside. Btw, was the Higurashi murder solved within the VN? Or did it continue in the subsequent VNs after it?
EDIT: Oh btw,
Spoiler:
EDIT: Oh btw,
Spoiler:
Okay, so I'm playing Higurashi right now and have just finished Onikukashi.
As for what I think about it, hmm... Well, I'm torn between two sides. The first one will be that the incidents are human-induced, and I have a very clear idea exactly who is the culprit and his methods of murder. Of course, that needs further clarification.
The second one will be... was there ever a culprit? Could the entire tragedy actually just a series of unfortunate incidents? So far it still hasn't been a mind fuck for me, so I'll have to wait until the answer is revealed. If it was though, that Higurashi was only as good as a 'two time' trap... I wonder if this could be a golden 3, like the one Mion played on the protagonist during their first card game.
On to a little bit of spoilers (and general dissatisfaction for this protagonist =_=" A totally - useless - wimp):

It's actually easier to find information on the Visual Novels I described using the original Japanese lol... Just copy paste them in + vndb?
EDIT: And oh, I made a mistake there stating Rance Quest as my 3rd favorite, it should be Sengoku Rance.

I believe the latest 锿³•使ã„ã®å¤œ by Type Moon will be on par (for me it's actually higher) with MLA. In terms of numbers its overall use of effects is lower than MLA, but the effectiveness is exactly on par or better than MLA. It is 2012 after all, although you can be proud knowing that - aside from the VNs from MLA's company - this is probably the only Visual Novel whose use of effects are as amazing as MLA.
In terms of story 锿³•使ã„ã®å¤œ also wins hands down for me. Not to say that MLA's story is bad - I certainly read it throughout a lot of nights, and there are some scenes that are just maddeningly good - but the somewhat long-winded theory explanation (which Ever 17 did a much better job in comparison) and the protagonist's immaturity (if he was the trained man almost at the end of Unlimited, and not the leader 3 years after I have no qualms with it, but otherwise seriously) near the end of MLA irked me a lot. Also, for some reason, I really do not feel anything for its ending (though I admit that the BETA's mindset is really, really well written; I hate it when people make supposedly aliens and monsters think like normal people). If anything, I felt a crushing disappointment that despite the 'reward' Takeru received in the end - which is honestly the best thing he could hope for,
The created atmosphere in 锿³•使ã„ã®å¤œ also far exceeds that of MLA. I find it hard NOT to be sucked into the story's pace as Alice pulls me around with a rope around my neck. >_> The male protagonist is also some of the most unique characters I've seen; just excellent, excellent writing.
I'll be honest: Both VNs have TERRIBLE systems. 锿³•使ã„ã®å¤œ music mode is missing the ED's song and extremely lacking that some of the most basic functions were missing. And MLA's...
Good god, man. So many epic CGs and you DON'T HAVE A CG MODE?????? DON'T HAVE A MUSIC MODE (Though I find that the gunfires are far smoother on the ear than the BGMs)???? WHAT THE FUCK?>???
And well, there are many VNs out there whose story are on par or better than MLA's. Maybe not many of the same genre. 装甲悪鬼æ‘æ£ is one - mecha, politics, girls, military, everything - but heck, its atmosphere is so bloodily heavy (literally in those words) that light readers will probably be scared shitless and quit by the first chapter. Plus it's not translated. The entire thing can be summed up in a single word: Sin.
Then there are those VN with gameplays. Honestly, I am still waiting since Baldr Sky for a VN that harmonizes between gameplay and story perfectly (The top 3 gameplay + decent story in my list: 1) Baldr Sky (The current baseline of perfection), 2) Eiyuu Senki (An incredibly perfected gameplay system and interface, this is a gem to behold whether from a gamer or a programmer's point of view), 3) Sengoku Rance (Play it)), but there are plenty of VNs with gameplays that are, er, more exciting than Kamidori. I don't really get the excitement since it is a HUGE annoyance for me when I sometimes have to traverse my characters from one side to another in a huge, HUGE map. Take for example, 創刻ã®ã‚¢ãƒ†ãƒªã‚¢ãƒ«'s card game system and difficulty provokes quite a lot of thinking, Venus Blood Frontier's SLG is very easy but has a decently average (but shitty ending sigh) story. I haven't played Demonion yet, but its gameplay seem to be fairly interesting - if you can ignore the fact that yes, you are again somewhere sometime a Demon King; yes there are again ignorant hero chicks falling prey to your omniscient intelligence; NO WHY THE HELL DOES THE H-SCENE CGS LOOK SO TAME AND INNOCENT IN COMPARISON TO FRONTIER'S DESPITE THE BETTER ART??? WHY??
And oh, ç´ æ™´ã‚‰ã—ã日々, the absolute best VN ever.

Hahahahahaha... HAHAHAHAHAHA! Really, the author of this VN, I can't believe it... I see now. Hahahahahaha! Oh my god. Oh. My. God.
This is an epic greater than Ever 17, Remember 11, or anything that follows the somewhat similar genre. It'll forever be THE BEST Visual Novel I've read - not because that its twists are greater than others, which it is not; nor because of its fantastic writing or such - but simply because with its ending, it has unknowingly realized one of the greatest dreams in my life. Well, the first step that is, but a step still.
I sincerely thank amorim for recommending ç´ æ™´ã‚‰ã—ã日々 to me. This is certainly one of the most stunning - and awesome - revelations I've experienced in my life. Thank you.
