Tales series
Which game did you enjoy more?

As much as I loved Symphonia I really enjoyed Abyss the best because it had a great cast of characters and the fighting style was much cooler than all of the others.

The only one of those I've played was Symphonia, so I'll go with that. I played a rom of one of the older ones and didn't really care for the battle system, so I never really got into it. ToS was really great though, the characters were memorable although not really all that cool(I think Sheena, Priscilla and Regal were pretty cool, others were just kinda generic and/or annoying). The gameplay was great, story was decent although often predictable. I suppoose I would have preferred the characters be slightly more mature, they were all a bit too kiddy, but it isn't really that big of a deal.

Although I LOVED Symphonia.
I have to agree with above, abyss has more complex storyline, great character personality with cast that match them pretty well.
EDIT : I mean the 1st topic post... lurking got ahead of me.

I don't really feel I can vote. I've only finished Symphonia and the only other I've played is Phantasia. I need to play the others before I can decide.
However, Symphonia is a great game IMO. I really enjoyed playing it.

The funny thing is that I never bought Abyss when it came out. I had heard it was good but when I finally saw some videos about a month later, I immediately knew that I had to buy it.

I know many people don't have their hands on abyss due to it's lack of promotion.
I accidently bought it just because it's "Tales of".
I thought it was good, but then IT WAS GOOD!
I've had it played until 98 hours on the 1st playthrough(I still have the save file)
And the second one just to unlock all its secret, and I doubt the second one is enough.
Symphonia is a pretty good game too, but Abyss has taken my 1st in Tales of series.

I played symphonia, but as people have said, the story and characters are generic, and I never really liked the battle system. The most efficient way to play was actually to play as your healer, but it was not fun, cause we all know laying on the smackdown is the fun part, so I never did it.
I finished the game, but I didn't think it was all that great.

Same here. I started a second file just for all of the extras and it was definetly worth it. I didn't find Nebilim as difficult as Abyssion though. My nephew also played Symphonia but he just can't beat Abyssion.
Everyone says you need to use Raine to win but I didn't I used Lloyd, Sheena, Presea, and Regal so it is possible.

Yes, Abyssion is one of the cockroaches that is hard to kill.
And I didn't use Raine too. It's the same as yours except that I chose Kratos over Regal.
Nebilim is easy to me because I had my character almost best equip with high lvls.
But anywho, I'm playing in normal difficulty. I don't know about Very hard or even unknown difficulty.

The only thing that's really different about the harder modes is the fact that every enemy has more health.

Are you sure harder only has more health?
I ever tested playing unknown difficulty against the very first enemy encounter on the game, and it lasted more than 3 minutes. Due to the damage I do to it only 1. And tear rarely attacks.
(Not to mention I ever heard that in hard difficulty and up, Nebilim has ALL mystic arte known.)

I believe that she already has them all, even on normal but on the harder modes she uses them more often.

Good luck. I should be studying for my finals but instead I'm playing video games as well browsing Fakku.

Tales of Symphonia is the best. I still have my extremely awesome file. XD Played through 10 or so times, with grade shop purchases the world over, and 6k+ damage with Lloyd using his Devil's Arm and a Sardonyx. (Lightning Thrust and Lightning Tiger Blade own!) Tales of Symphonia is one of the games that I'm best at. Pwnage.

Can I ask just 1 thing?
Total playtime.

Around 240 hours. Meaning one entire playthrough a day. But that's because I did all of the sidequests, obtaining all of the titles, recipes, doing the glitch to get both T- and S-moves, and obtaining every piece of equipment in the game. (on the last playthrough, at least.)

(on the last playthrough, at least.)I'm surprised you didn't get bored. Even I can't do that... 10 playthrough?! I can only pull that one on way of samurai 2. Which is a short game on each separated storyline. Well, Symphonia IS a great game. It's normal for people to play it on several playthrough... Even 10 times. Wait, 10 times or more isn't normal for me. Argh, whatever... You did a good job.
