Movie adaptation of the comic book. Yay.
Meet charming and jobless Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera). A bass guitarist for garage band Sex Bob-omb, the 22-year-old has just met the girl of his dreams...literally. The only catch to winning Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead)? Her seven evil exes are coming to kill him. Genre-smashing filmmaker Edgar Wright ("Hot Fuzz," "Shaun of the Dead") tells the amazing story of one romantic slacker's quest to power up with love in "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World."
Scott Pilgrim has never had a problem getting a girlfriend. It's getting rid of them that proves difficult. From the girl who kicked his heart's ass--and now is back in town--to the teenage distraction he's trying to shake when Ramona rollerblades into his world, love hasn't been easy. He soon discovers, however, his new crush has the most unusual baggage of all: a nefarious league of exes controls her love life and will do whatever it takes to eliminate him as a suitor.
As Scott gets closer to Ramona, he must face an increasingly vicious rogues' gallery from her past--from infamous skateboarders to vegan rock stars and fearsomely identical twins. And if he hopes to win his true love, he must vanquish them all before it really is game over.

HNNNGH Ramona really isn't technically that hot, but HNNNNGHH
Also, is it just me or does Michael Cera look like Falcor?

Regardless, I'm looking forward to this despite knowing nothing about the source material, same as Kick-Ass.

So, is it sort of like a hilarious version of showing that they're fighting, or are they literally doing those things within the context of the movie? I need to wiki-it...

It looks like fun, I have really been enjoying Michael Cera's work lately, he's usually fun in almost anything he does.

I don't care for Cera, but from the director of Shawn of the Dead and Hot Fuzz? And all that action? This could be pretty cool.

Saw the trailer the other day and it got me so pumped. All the little nods to comics and video games just made the nerd in me squee (also, Edgar Wright! Jason Schwartzman! win!). I had been foolishly warned off of the Graphic Novels a long time ago and now I am sorry, especially since the premise sounds right up my alley. Atleast I have a couple of months to catch up!

Seems interesting, the comics were cool, And Cera has been awesome in alot of his movies so i suppose ill give this a look into!

I'm considering reading the comics before this comes out but I'm kind of put off by the art style (they all look like avatars for a teen social network site) and the fact it seems to be falling over itself to sound hip and "relevant". It's just that something about it really intrigues me at the same time.
edit
Ha, well after that doubt I ended up buying the first two volumes...

I'm surprised you didn't pirate the first volume to see if it was to your taste.

The difference with manga, of course, is that you get the English translation much sooner if you go with scanlations. I've been on a little spending spree today, buying two volumes of Scott Pilgrim, the collectors edition of Kick-Ass vol 1 and the book about taking Kick-Ass from comic to screen.

Day one for me. Hopefully they have the posters and shirts at con this year.
Oh fun fact, that little 8-bit icon of Scott was designed by the same team making the video game. What makes this even better is because the art director for the game is from the group 'Mecha Fetus' famous for his short movie 'Kings of Power 4 Billion %'
anyway back on topic, can't wait for this movie
