The console wars

I'm wondering which console the average people of Fakku use. I'm a Wii man myself. but I want to see the popular opinion for myself. you can also list your favorite games while you're here. I love the zelda franchise, and I'm a huge supporter of Skies of Arcadia.

This battle was a let down, and the real winner here is unfortunately obvious.

Back when the Wii was known as the "Revolution", I was indeed a Nintendo Fanboy with dreams of grandeur in my eyes, only to have those dreams dashed by what I now refer to as the "Casual Console", filled with horribly mediocre games and prancing itself around for housewives and grade school children to fawn over and lavish with their spoiled income. The saddest part being that even I own one, for one game: Smash Bros. Granted, there are a few other games worth picking up, but none make the console.

As for the Playstation 3, it is an amazing piece of hardware...an amazing piece of EXPENSIVE hardware. I've yet to consider buying it, taking the price into account and now that the most powerful Playstation supporter, Square-Enix, is spreading it's games to other consoles (FFXIII on X360 lol), I doubt I will buy one. There are simply not enough console specific games to make it worth it, Heavenly Sword was alright but too short and I've never been much of a MGS fan after the last game...

Back in the day, I despised Xbox, it was all American and FPS and Microsoft and sports. I hate sports games. But now, with the present situation, the fact that the X360 is at a comfortable price and does not cater to the casual gamer solely while still looking impressive, I'd have to shoot my foot if I didn't like it. It balances FPS (Halo, Gears of War, Bioshock), RPG (Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey) and action games (Devil May Cry, Soul Caliber, Dead Rising), not to mention, as I said before, Square-Enix has begun backing it.

Say what you will, but when you factor in all the variables, the Xbox 360 comes out on top...however unfortunate that may be.

Just heard about a price drop for the X360, so yet another reason.

PS3 is gaining ground quick on the 360. In the end the PS3 will win.

Only if they drop the price at least $100 and get some half decent games, which, from the way it looks, isn't going to happen. Don't get me wrong though, I love the Playstation, they just jumped in a little deep this time..

I started out in Nintendo's camp as a kid, moved to Xbox about halfway though the generation of the orignal and am now a PC gamer after buying a computer for myself. I still have a 360 and a PS2 and can steal my sisters Wii for Smash Bros. and anything else that I find interesting.

I could keep going but I think Ive proved my point. All these are exclusives.
Now that the PS3 is spread throughout the community all the thrid party games are for the PS3. Dead space Fallout 3 ETC. You get the idea.

But all those games could suck for all we know, there's ALOT of hyped title's that fails to deliver once they arrive.
(That goes for all consoles i might add, not just the Ps3)


Me myself is pretty much neutral in this generation's console-war, since all the titles im interested in is spread out over all three consoles.

The console with the best library atm imo is the 360 no doubt, after that the Wii, and last Ps3, it's only got MGS4 that i want to play, and im not gonna buy a Ps3 for one game, especially considering the price of the console.

i'm neutral,because i could always get all of those if i really want to.

the only reason i'm not getting those is only because i'll be moving to japan shortly, learn proper japanese, go to college, and get a part-time job there.

so i think i'll hardly have enough time to play them.

I have a PS3 and a 360. I like and use the PS3 more, just a personal thing.

Even though i agree with this the numbers is/could be an indication on what the console has to offer, no one is gonna buy a system that ain't got any good games.

Say what you want about the partygames, but alot of 'em are actually good (most are shit though, i know)

that only 5 games on your list were decent. and there are talks of versus 13 going to X360 at a later date as well.

I will concede that the PS3 has superior stats, but it's price and lack of -good- games make it less than worth it. though it is the cheapest bluray out there lol, that would be a reason to buy it, screw games XD

Ugh Halo and everything Halo SUCKS Fable 2 will be crap just like Fable Banjo kazooie got canceled, Too human Tanked, Everything else thats decent is on the PS3 as well as 360. Gears is the only thing I see.FF 13 Versus has had no rumors of going 360.

BTW I have a 360 and PS3. I play PS3 MUCH MORE.

Fable 2 will be awsome! But anyway, clock why do you have FEAR on that list? The PS3 got fear, now if you mean Project Origen (FEAR 2), it is also going to be on the PS3.

Well, speaking from the stand point of a person who could only buy one console, i had to weigh my options carefully.

Halo doesnt suck, headshots r sweet. if you can back up your accusation, id like to hear it. fable was -awesome- and fable 2 has a good start. i havent heard anything about banjo kazooie being cancelled and too human was a good action game.

there's infinite undicovery and lost odyssey as well.

I am painfully aware that we could talk about this for ages, and have before. That and I am not so interested in having such a heated debate with you anime. I llike all the systems, I know they have their pros and cons. I only say X360 has won the next gen war so far because it is cheaper than the ps3 but not horribly more expensive than the wii. it has a very good library of games that arn't solely focused on casual gamers (i HATE casual gamers) and are actually worth buying.

I -wish- sony's system was better, prime knows i love them more than microsoft...
